We are annual members of Thousand Trails, renewing yearly. We have just returned from a 2wk visit to Mt Vernon TT. This year TT are assigning campsites and so far they've been good. Our site was a little shady but clean and roomy. We have an average sized travel trailer (self contained) so a full hook up was not necessary and there was a restroom close by. But, the problem was the men's side looked vandalized and nearly unusable. I felt bad for the folks who had paid for hurts in that area. The women's side was cleaned daily but the showers needed more attention, hair and dirt under the mats. read more

I am going to go ahead and echo what other folks have said about this particular location because i actually felt moved to write up a yelp review. I camp regularly with friends, this was my friends and my first time in this particular camp and now the pros. Pro: Showed up late but the guy at the front was super kind and even gave us a little time to rinse off before leaving the pool. We had a hoot, the place was quiet and we were able to celebrate a friends birthday and star gaze. The cons: The lady in the cart with the power trip. She's got to go. Not only did she feel the need to SCREAM at us but she also wanted to sit there and lecture. nope. unfortunately, alot of other people have had this interaction with her and she either needs coaching or what not. the other campers around us were super kind and its a sham that with all the amenities it still soured out FIRST time on this lot. This location was not my favorite. Very unprofessional about approaching ANY problem. I have now had 6 interactions with "staff" here in 4 days. Every one of these was not pleasant. Their approach makes us feel unwanted, and unwelcomed. I will not return in the future. It is a beautiful location with the exception of lighting and all the mud. This is for the TT in Bow, WA. We don't feel welcomed here. Honestly, it's about time I become a squeaky wheel. A lady in a burgundy car with no uniform or name tag stopped us midway up a hill to tell us to slow down to 5mph. We thought it was just another camper trying to be a "hall monitor" type. She explained that she was a ranger, but without any uniform, name tag, or TT car/golf cart, we found it unprofessional and it was hard for us to believe her. Regardless, we tried explaining that Betsy (the RV) is heavy and needs more gas to make it uphill. She wasn't having it. THEN, like 45mins later after we spent that time unloading and setting up our camping spot. We had the door open and the cat got out (In other TT's this isn't an issue, but they have a rule to keep cats on leash, too, at this one). Hot, sweaty, and tired, we sat down to take a breather and literally as I'm reading all the paperwork/map/RULES, the same lady (with NO uniform or name tag) comes into our campsite to tell us about the cat. It's like, "We just freaking got here. Can you give us sometime to actually read your 21 rules?" It totally felt like she was still upset that we couldn't slow down at the hill, looked for us, found an opportunity to impose her "authority" and came into the site to do so. Without a uniform, name tag, or official car, this seems unprofessional and frankly I DON'T LIKE IT. We pay to be members. Plus, 2 of the bathroom buildings are down and the hot tub doesn't work. read more

I read reviews before booking here and they made me not want to book here but we did anyways. We booked for a week over the Fourth of July weekend. We ended up stay an additional week because the kids had so much fun. The park put on a few events over the Fourth of July weekend. They had a lollipop hunt, tye-dye, a hay ride, kids crafts, breakfast and a bbq lunch and a poker event for the adults. We all had a lot of fun at this park. It was very clean and shaded with a lot of trees. Most of the spots were giant which was really nice since we have a 43 foot fifth wheel. I would definitely stay here again. read more

This is a chill, kick back family establishment. The grass won't be perfect or the breakfast gourmet, but it's not about puttputt and five star spoon sized breakfasts. It's about knowing that the staff care for the clients and are decent beings of the human race. Here's a little anecdote: My seven year old niece biffed big time in the gravel while biking. She was having a hard time getting the grains of sand and pebbles out of her scrapes while we were in the bathroom. One of the cleaning attendants offered to help. She put anticeptic, rinsed her hands and was all the while sweetly telling her, "I know Baby," as she struggled to keep still from the stinging. She asked me if we had hydrogen peroxide in our first aid kit and when I explained we didn't, then she told us to make our way to the camp store and let them know Carla sent us. Once we made it to the store, we looked for hydrogen peroxide, but couldn't find any, so we asked the cashier. When we showed her my niece's hands, then she went on a mission to find something to help in three different first aid kits. She hooked us up and sent us on our way. Now, you simply can not get this type of service where not only is it a good deal and fabulous nature excursion, but the people employed there are not robots and care for the clients. In addition, the swimming pool and hot tub were open and clean. My nieces and nephew were swimming merrily. They have a swim test for kids. If they don't pass, then they wear a life vest. They take their 5 mile an hour speed limit seriously and you get walking, biking, game play space. read more

Tucked in behind a casino and just off the side of I-5 this Thousand Trails is a gem all of its own. Follow the signs past the casino just down the path leading up to the sign in building with fresh hot coffee and a common area, sign in around noon and you're on your way. Past the gate to see the swimming pool off to the right, there's an inconspicuous store there with some odds and ends. Passing by a couple roads up and to the left, some being one way and one leading to a dump station and onto some of the RV spaces that have full hookups. there are many spaces to choose from including spaces for tents, spaces for RVs with and with out the sewage hookup but with electric and water. Then they have some cabins there too. Careful though, some of the spaces are barred off and have a yellow chain, I'm not yet sure about these but they seem to be owned by a family somehow. If you're a walker or bicyclist, just to share the road at this site one can get the exercise they want, and if its showers you need there looks to be a few shower sites about every other turn or so at this place. after setting up your space, getting lost in this old growth forest should be on everyone's to-do list. Please though, keep it nice and clean for the next people. Sites such as these are far and few between as I have not seen a place as beautiful sense moving from the redwoods of northwestern California on the 101hwy the only difference between the two would be the sizes of the trees and differences in the size of the highways. If they had more RV Full Hookups this place would have all the creature comforts needed to spend more time camping, then deciding when to make runs back and forth to the dump stations.... read more

What a great TT! This place is well taken care of. Most of the sites are really private, we didn't even need to pull our blinds! We couldn't see our neighbors. There are plenty of amenities in the park, for all ages. What a really pretty lodge. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet, wish it started at 8 but realize some people sleep in while camping. Either way, the food was great. Thanks for the free Father's Day breakfast for dads that made my husband feel special, since he will not be spending Father's Day with his kids. The radius travel was pretty good. We took Chuckanut Dr. To Bellingham, gorgeous drive! We also enjoyed checking out Burlington's Berry Dairy days car show. We look forward to returning to this location. read more

What a pleasant change over last year. Finally have a manager and employees who care. The lodge has been cleaned up, pool has been redone. The bathrooms are immaculate. Really like that they provide a phone number "in case something bad happens". Only a few sewer sites, but there is a dump station. Thirty amp and water are provided. Majority of the sites are very private. There are a few more open spots, but the big rigs with the satellites grab them. During our stay they have had a good assortment of activities available. This is also a large campground, plenty of places to walk, as well as a few trails Only negative, (same as any campground), is the patrons who drive way too fast. So many kids running around it's scary. This is a large campground, hard for staff to moniter all the roads. Weekends during the summer season they offer breakfast for a very reasonable price as well as have a lunch menu available. Now that fall is here, they do rally with always having the game on the big screen in the lounge. This property is quickly becoming my favorite Thousand Trails option in Washington State. This is a hard place to find as it sets beyond some tribal land and they are not allowed any signage. Take exit 236 off I-5, head east. At the light take a left and follow the outer road all the way around to the paved road on your right. Go over a few speed bumps and continue straight. Check in/Welcome center is at the end of the road. read more

There are nice people here. Somewhere. Unfortunately they are not who you get to interact with. I find it sad really to feel unwelcome at this campground. I'm a local person and a long term local business owner . My perception after 5 years of regularly being here is this They have had to deal with so much riff raff and trouble people they treat everyone like that. You just can't win here. You really can not even be comfortable here. Have a camp fire and need to use the restroom or get a drink nope better douse your fire cuz someone will assume you've left your fire for the night ( like some other person has ) and you'll be reprimanded . Pay to have a friend over, have 15 camping sites free next to you and they park in one of them and your asked to move it we do. Still written up a warning on our membership. What the heck do I pay the money for? I thought that paying for a friend to visit was for there car to be in the park ! Is there no such thing as letting a person know oops sorry we moved it in compliance but still you go on to act as if we did not. It's unfriendly it's sad. Too bad. Any other park we've been too has been awesome. It's common conversation though , that this park is unfriendly Some of the nicest people we know don't even go here any more. Again sad. Great spots nice pool when open. They do a lot for kids activities and the lady that has ran the lodge store has always been so sweet. Each person should be treated fairly. Quit holding grudges and looking for problems with every camper .let it go. Smile. And by the way I saw some of these reviews. There is not a time I'm on the road in this campground that an employee isn't driving over 5 kicking up dust. Those little golf carts go pretty quick ! Bev in sales is a gem and this in no way reflects upon her . I truly hope to have a great experience our next time in. I won't have a fire. Or a friend. I always drive 5 so. We will see We've just upgraded again with thousand trails. This particular one truly makes me wish I had not. read more

We live in our motorhome, traveling around the United States and have been thousand trail members for 18 months now. In that time we have found a couple of amazing parks but most are in dire need of repair. We found most parks have a handful of highly coveted sites with full hook up (sewer electric and water) and some of them are claimed by what look to be abandoned motorhomes or are chained off because someone "owns" them. Most parks work at about 80% capacity because of sites with bad electric or other issues. It is vital to book in advance. No winging it with thousand trails, if you want a spot,book as soon as possible. Would we purchase a membership again? I honestly don't know. There are thing we love about thousand trails They usually have a pool. We have found amazing campgrounds across the country with same great managers. Again they are rare. There is no such thing as free camping. ( I think boon dockings price is no hook ups!) read more

Super hostile staff members that treated us like Trespassers. We strolled up for the day to inquire about membership and to just overall have a nice little nostalgic experience, since my friend and I spent our childhood summers there. Allow me to summarise. As soon as we got in the office, we were treated with attitude from a younger ranger/staff member. Didn't get his name, but he was a short little guy, about 5'3 with a beard longer than he is tall, can't miss him (or maybe you could). Anyhow, he was insistent to not let us in. So I called up the membership lady, believe her name was Bev. She was super polite, realistic, and our conversation was consise. Essentially, she gave us permission to enter for a short time, after she had short words with the short staff member. I told her we'd likely stay for two hours, and we did. It was upon leaving that the real issue began. As we were entering our vehicle to leave, the long beared little guy approaches us with a hostile tone and says, "I thought you guys were only going to be here for a few minutes". I respond by saying that Bev gave us permission for two hours. It was then that he instantly through his membership manager under the bus. Little guy - "Bev doesn't know what the hell she's talking about" I just spoke with the REAL manager, and he told me to throw you guys out. So come get your ID's and get the hell out of here." A few seconds later, another ranger girl rolls up to further escalate the confrontation. Both of them appeared to be roughly 20 years old. Too young to be in any position of power, for sure. Once we arrived back at the membership office, the two kid rangers decided to double down on their transparent and desperate quest for power. Of course, most of it was coming from the guy, who comedically enough, was the shorter of the two. And just to be clear, I'm not saying his height had anything to do with his Napoleonic demeanor, but history might beg to differ. Anyhow, a few words were exchanged before the shorter of the two decided to puff his chest out, in a cringy effort to sell his closing dialog. Small guy - "Take your ID's and get the fuck out of here" It's at this point that we inconveniently bend downward to take our ID's back from him. We had a few more words before the ranger girl says, "Just be the bigger man and leave" I couldn't help but let out a modest chuckle. "What's that suppose to mean" says the guy. So now with them disputing the coded meaning of her comment, I decide that now would be a good time to leave. All in all, Thousand Trails Mount Vernon is now a shell of its former self. Just read the other comments on Yelp, Tripadvisor etc. You'll find stories that are tame by comparison. Employees drinking Beer in the woods, verbally attacking patrons, foul restrooms, short staff members, and just an overall negative culture of managment that does absolutely NOTHING to correct it. A side from the same copy and pasted, repetitive "I'm sorry for your experience" comment leave behind by their damage control department. I'm telling you now, don't go there. It will likely be an uncommonly horrible experience. read more

We are not members of TT so had to pay full price which for 2 nights w/o sewer hookups and only water and electric was pricey $115. The sites are just ok and nothing special. There are only 2 dumping stations and one of them was not working so that was a bummer. We decided we would not go to this park again since state and federal parks are kept cleaner and are nicer in general for the same price or less. read more

We enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff and campers. We will return when the pool is open. This time we went to the Tulip Festival during the day and had a great time. Nice to return to our camp and just relax while other were driving home in traffic. read more

The pool was continually closed as we were told for being too "green". We called and went another day and they said it was open. We showed up and the pool was green and full of people. It was disgusting. How is it too green one day but this green was ok today? They just didn't want to lose out on all that money. They need to get it together. We will never go back. read more
