I'm really torn about this place. I like how easy it is to get an appointment and location is great. However, twice I came here to get my nose waxed and the lady was too rough and my skin ended up scabbing. They only accept cash tips and don't even have the option to tip on a card. I understand it's cheaper for the owner but it's so inconvenient for your customers to have to worry about having cash. If you don't have cash to tip you're left looking like a jerk for not tipping. I definitely think this place has potential but just needs some tweaking. read more

First time I came here, I had waxing done for full arms, underarms and half legs. Technique was OK overall, but when it came to my right underarm she did not take enough time to position herself correctly. I tried to tell her, she said she was good, but I could feel that the area was not taut enough. Of course, it caused a lot of pain and I did bleed. Parts of my underarm were raw. I did come back a second time. A different employee this time, she did my brows well but I did have to map them out and fill them in with my pencil first to show her exactly what I wanted removed. I decided that I wanted my full arm waxed this time as well, hoping since it was a different person, maybe it would be better. I was wrong. She waxed in different directions and left A LOT of leftover wax all over my arms. I was very disappointed because I had high hopes for this place. read more

Nice spot. Great prices. Only complaint is that they didn't do a great job on the nose waxing. She put it in and gave it a little pinch. It seemed effective until I looked in the mirror later and saw the same hairs that bugged me. Next time I'll be sure to pinch my own nostrils to attach to the wax. Edit: I was contacted by the salon regarding my last review. They said they wanted me to be happy and offered to make it right the next time I came in. This is it! This place opened up a few months ago and I finally decided to try it since it's close to home and better than going to my usual south loop place. I showed up right at opening hour and was attended to quickly and kindly by a young lady. The place is small and cute, conveniently located next to Fabiana's Bakery (also a wonderful place). I hadn't gotten my eyebrows threaded in months and the last lady who did it at another place made them uneven. The person who threaded my brows at this Hyde Park salon was amazing and efficient. She pointed out the mistake that the last person did and advised me what to do to even it out (took her advice!) Threading & Waxing Salon is honestly god's gift to Hyde Park - quick, fairly reasonable and they do a great job. I've been twice to get my eyebrows done and both times my therapists have been great. They do a good job maintaining the shape of my eyebrow and just cleaning the surrounding overgrowth. They also give a nice massage at the end, after they put some moisturiser on your eyebrows to sooth them. Its not very much but it adds a nice touch. For $8, the cheapest you can find in Hyde Park, you really can't go wrong. read more

5 STARS. After a disappointing visit, the owner invited me back for brow threading at no charge. I just recently came back from the salon and had to write a review right away. Soni took such GREAT care of me. She listened carefully to how I wanted my brows to look like and executed my desires perfectly. First she tinted my brows, then threaded them. She was so careful and meticulous and made sure to take her time. The arch on one of my brows is a bit difficult to shape and she worked her magic. Guys, let me tell you, Soni is a MASTER at threading. It's so quick, "soft," and almost painless. Today I wasn't pleased with the service at all. I felt the new lady was a little rough with me. Ive been getting my brows done here since you all opened. Today as I walked in, I saw one of the threaders outside on the phone, she's been there since the place opened. I walked in and felt a little disappointed because I would prefer the more experienced threader. But I sat down and explained I just needed a clean up. I also explained that one eyebrow grows longer than the other. Once she started I noticed that she jerked my head a little roughly as she reached over to thread the top of my left brow from the right side of the chair. This happened a few times. My experience wasn't pleasant at all, it seemed like she was upset about something. But once someone else came into the salon her demeanor softened a bit, at least until I got to the register. When she finished she automatically put aloe Vera on my brows which I didn't ask for. I told her I don't want aloe Vera but I want witch hazel. She told me aloe Vera is good for the brows and wiped the witch hazel on. I grabbed a piece of tissue to wipe the excess off and she was at the register asking for my phone number. By this time there were 2 people waiting for services. I felt rushed and uncomfortable. I walked to the register and gave her my number. At the end of the transaction I asked for a receipt and she told me she sent it already. ThTs not the case because this transaction was hours ago and I have no confirmation sent to me. As a regular, I didn't appreciate this interaction at all. This new woman is or was upset about something. On my last visit I requested someone else to do my brows because she was new , maybe she took offense to that. She's heavy handed and not as experienced as the others. She's rude and she's the reason why I don't have nice things to say about this place. Please do better. read more

I've been going here for the past year and have had a wonderful experience getting my eyebrows threaded by Radha. She takes her time, is gentle, and always shapes my eyebrows neatly. I usually book an appointment a day ahead of time and never have to wait longer than 10 minutes. The place is clean and they have a points system so you can earn points with every appointment. On Memorial Day, I called to see if there were any openings, and stopped in about 10 min later. The space was very clean and had great ambiance! Suni was finishing up with someone and shortly got to me. She has a very calm and warm presence. She asked was it my first time and how I found out about them. (Yes and just walked by.) She then began and asked how I wanted my eyebrows. As I haven't had my eyebrows threaded in a while, she was very gentle and quick. Have been to this place twice for threading. I have been assisted with Rani on my first visit and by Sunita on my second visit. And I cannot decide who did my eyebrows better. They were both gentle and shaped my eyebrows in a way that I like. I have also got henna done on both my hands for a festival by Soni. And she did a commendable job at it. The lady who did my brows called out the pimples on my face and told me I had "very dry skin" several times. I was quite offended but didn't want to say anything because at the end of the day she was doing my brows. Plus the string kept breaking which may be due to my thick hair but almost every time that it broke she would comment about my skin. read more

Excellent service Quite, private and peaceful environment. Full face threading is my service of choice.I have extra sensitive skin, which over the years has had allergic reactions to waxing and very painful episodes with inexperienced people performing threading.
