Visited for the first time today and everything my friends and I had was AMAZING . The lemon cupcake that I had was fantastic. I really liked the dine in option and found parking very easy. The only thing I wish is that there had been suggestions on drink pairing and an upbeat playlist. Also their gingerbread cookies are outstanding! I have been here several times, hoping that every time I go it will get better but I always leave disappointed. The staff is friendly but they seem very unorganized both when taking the orders and when cashing people out (this has resulted in my order being incorrect at least three times). The food is fair at best...too expensive for what they are offering. I have never has anything there that is super fresh or exceptionally delicious. i visited this location 2 months ago and was so appalled @ the service and neglect (trash can overflowing by front door, crumbs all over tables and floor) that I emailed the website; rec'd lip service from the manager via phone call a couple of days later. Visited again this afternoon and asked coffee guy if he was "ready" for my order, to which he responded "no, but i'll keep it in mind" (he was busy bashing a machine with an instrument, maybe trying to unclog it). My daughter and I were the only ones in there; where is the "baker" ? shelves empty, bread bins near empty, no selection, cupcakes down to "1 left". They both acted stoned. Two nights in a row - the staff and the place are amazing - both - fresh, clean, pretty - and incredibly accommodating - the staff flipped the screen to the Spurs game and let us watch the teams battle it out to overtime. The Washington Ave 3 Brothers Bakery team are really pretty great. I agree with asking the staff to recommend what they like. And work your way through what they love. After all - there really are literally rows and rows of right choices. Their cupcake version of death by chocolate is amazing. I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon, and the place was pretty slow. I was happy to see that that cases were full of yummy looking desserts though. The services was okay, I felt a bit rushed for a place that was practically empty though. I ended up choosing a variety to sample: cookie, Reese's cupcake, turtle cheesecake, croissants and cake balls. Most of it was stale and pretty much not edible. My husband and I were on a road trip and stopped by the bakery on 8/27/2015. I had heard of this place online and about how good their baked goods are including their gingerbread cookies. I tried their gingerbread man cookie and wow it is the best one I have had before. The cookie also just came out of the oven and was as fresh as it gets. We decided to get married with a 6 week turnaround, so I didn't have the luxury of trying 17 different cake tastings and meetings with decorators. I simply walked into the bakery, an employee greeted me and immediately was talking with me about their capabilities and said it would be no problem to create the cake I showed them from an image. We also ordered 3 pies from them in place of a groom's cake. I must say I had several wedding attendees let me know that it was the best aspect of our wedding, when normally the cake is just an after thought. I was under the impression that numbers mattered in every regard in a business. Why would you send that to another location? Pure laziness. Less than impressed with the service and attitudes I saw behind the counter. There were 3 people behind the counter and I had to chase someone down for any service. The only thing that knocks it down to four stars is the fact that this isn't their main store where they actually bake their goods, so they don't have several desserts that are being advertised (like their famous keylime pie).. I tried this place after reading all the hype about them and missing my delicious gingerbread men from the now closed Grimes Bakery. It is very overrated. We tried the cheesecake cupcake and it was so dense and the icing was sour, did not taste good at all. My mom tried the red velvet and was not pleased. The gingerbread men were more like ginger cake men and lacked sweetness and definitely ere not worth the $3 price tag. The best thing we got was challah bread (I think that is how you spell it.) The girl behind the counter acted as if we were annoying her with all of our questions being it was our first time there. Won't be back. read more

I ordered a 6 inch round cake for my moms birthday to be picked up monday at 9:00 am. There was a huge flood on sunday and most businesses were closed monday. The store called me at 7:00 am apologizing that they could not make my cake because of the flood. I was disappointed since it was for my moms birthday. Instead, they offered me a larger, prettier cake and decorated it so it would be fit for my moms birthday. Went to pick it up and it was ready to go. Hassle free. We drove to Dallas the following day, the cake made it in one piece, and we all LOVED the cake. It was a simple white cake with white buttercream frosting and it was delicious! My mom is very picky with cake, and she loved it. My dad who absolutely will throw out cake for being "too sweet" was also very impressed and asked for seconds. I was worried the frosting would be too heavy but it wasn't. I give this place a 5 stars for the awesome cake, and the customer service from Mikala. I will def be going here again! :) On a side note, we also got the oreo cupcake when we ordered the cake, which was really good. There was a lot of frosting, but I suppose thats expected for a cupcake. read more
