    Goat cheese dip

This is a small local whiskey distillery that has a small menu and was a fun place. We arrived around 5pm on a Nice weather Saturday and a small bus was leaving (thank goodness, lol). There is a patio you can sit on to drink and eat; however, we went inside and sat at a booth in the back. I did not drink whiskey, instead we ordered cocktails off the fun spring cocktail menu. I really enjoyed the "I wet my plants." The table beside us got several whiskey flights though! My friends enjoyed the goat cheese dip with orange marmalade. I ended up with the tomato grilled cheese and a salad. The balsamic dressing was very good. Hubby got the nachos, which were HUGE! The picture cannot demonstrate the massive amount of pork that was in there. I would definitely come back for some drinks and appetizers or small meal.

Amazingly nice place. The food was great. The service was excellent. We also had our motorhome with us and they let us park in the back because we're part of a group called harvest host. Really enjoyed our visit! Michelle even gave us a very nice tour of the distillery and their history!!

We had Baked crack dip to start off. Oh so good. House made mix of bacon, ranch and something called "crack dip." Which could explain why I didn't stop eating it. The Mrs ordered the "hamburger helper". And went with the "chicken bites". The chicken was as expected with nice flavor. The hamburger helper was tasty. I like the set up and the "Drinks are on the front side, and food on the backside". Outside seating area (where we sat) is nice with a mixture of tables, a fire pit, an chairs. I could have spent a few more hours here. The drinks were very tasty. The "limerick" was seemingly on everyone's table. We enjoyed it a lot.

Ok, this place is great, been back twice for apps and cocktails before heading to 1933 bistro across the way. Fantastic local spirits and getting to try them in an expertly prepared way is VERY rare. Add to that both outdoor and indoor seating spaces that were great for two as well as a group, servers that knew the product as well as the menu and you get an idea of what they offer. Take some time to explore their gift shop too!!!

We stopped in here along our weekend VA road trip. It was an awesome find in a small town with great people and products. They even gave us a tour of the stills! Due to the restrictions on serving here, we had to be judicious in our choices. We ordered a full flight and two cocktails. They did not disappoint! There was live music, a food truck and a boozy cake stand (vanilla & bourbon). I purchased two cakes and the woman at the stand was so friendly and caught me up on the local events! Overall, a great find!

Limited parking due to parking lot. Wally World drink was good because it wasn't overly sweet. If you're in the mood for a sweet drink, then there's options for you as well. They do sell bottles to go. There was a musician playing live music. There's seating outdoors and inside. There's different vendors that come to sell food. There was a fundraiser today for dogs. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Came here for the first time tho I've been to the bar a few times before the restaurant side opened. Bartender is always extremely friendly and hopeful. Enjoy interacting with him. The beef on weck is delicious as is the Mac and cheese. The hot honey chicken sandwich has a little bite but isn't omg spicy which is perfect for me. My only complain and only reason for 4 stars os the chicken is processed and not a chicken breast. It should def be chicken breast meat in a restaurant. I hope they change this but otherwise definitely recommend them.

Great staff serving excellent spirits. It's the best legal moonshine in Powhatan (and there is/was a lot of moonshine in Powhatan).

When we entered, we found the two owners, a husband and wife, talking to a group of customers. The wife said as soon as she saw our car pull in, she knew she had to come from the house next door and help her husband. They have been married for over 40 years and really should be a comedy team, very entertaining to listen to their back and forth banter! My friend opted for a Moscow Mule made with their Apple Pie moonshine (or as they call it, "Gooch Hooch"), and she said her drink was delicious. I decided to get a flight of their Apple Pie, Blueberry and Blackberry moonshine. The Apple Pie flavor was definitely my favorite, but the owners said the Lemon and Blackberry were their most popular. They also make several whiskeys, bourbon and gin for those with more adult tastes, lol! Their tasting room is on the smaller size, but is cozy and owners definitely make it entertaining. They've got great outdoor spaces for the warmer weather. My friend and I had a good time and would definitely come back.

If you are in the Goochland area, this cool distillery is worth a gander! As the name states, it's atop of a hill, surrounded by a forest in a rustic setting. There are two fire pits, which we snuggled around while we sipped our libations. Also a stage is on the grounds when there's live music here! Inside is small, a few tables, a bar, and shelves of hooch for sale! They offer other gifts as well, soaps, coffee, chocolates - I bought several!! We also purchased some of the blackberry moonshine they make, which the owner made into a nice presentation with a galvanized bucket and the other items we chose all wrapped up! It make a wonderful gift! The liquors are mostly bourbon whiskey, scotch, rye, vodka and moonshine. My hubby tried a flight, and I had a coffee/kahlua/whiskey drink - I'm not much of a liquor drinker, a bit strong for me, but it was pretty good! We also got a tour of the distillery and it was so cool seeing all the machinery and how the distilling process is done! The owners are super sweet and hospitable! We would definitely give this place another "shot" whenever we are in the neighborhood! I can't wait til it's warmer and they have live bands!!

He took the time to explain everything in detail, which gave a great appreciation for how much goes into making their bourbon. After the tour, we had the opportunity to taste several of their bourbons, which was definitely a highlight. Each one had its own unique flavor profile, and it was a fun and engaging experience to compare them. Overall, a great stop if you enjoy bourbon and want to learn more about the craft. We had a bit of time to browse the store before the tour started. The tour was about an hour and included a free tasting. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and led us through the history of Virginia's oldest distillery. He was a bit hard to understand and talked VERY fast, which made it tough to absorb much of the info. However, for a free activity I enjoyed it. The best part of course was the tasting at the end. We were led through how to taste the spirits and given water and crackers as palate cleansers. We tried one of their gins, two bourbons, and the caramel bourbon cream liqueur. The bourbon cream was delicious and so smooth! I really liked the gin as well. We all ended up buying at least one bottle, so I'd say it was a success.
