Hip & cozy spot downtown Shorewood. Roomy nice seating, great place for events. Food was delicious! Up charge on the side salad substituting the fries came as a surprise. Friendly staff. Friendly people everyone looked to be enjoying themselves.

Three Lions Pub is a cozy neighborhood staple. The atmosphere the pub creates makes you feel right at home. We ordered the Fish N' Chips and the House Burger. The Burger was extra juicy and flavorful- and huge! The fish was also huge and the batter was crisp. The fries were crisp yet soft and the Caesar salad wasn't too heavy of a dressing! We had a friendly bartend who gave great recommendations. Would like to go again and try their pastry special!

We've been to Three Lions a few times. Sometimes it's just a nice place to stop after having a drink at a nearby place such as Draft & Vessel. The times we've gone, it's been pretty quiet. I imagine that's not the case when a sporting event is going on. The service has always been good. A few years ago, we got the poutine there and loved it. The last time, this past February, it was really really salty. Too much so. I also recently got the ancient grains with salmon. Solid choice! It's a fine place -- nothing remarkable, but accessible, big place to find a spot for some quality food and libation.

Everything I've ordered has been great. Hot toddies, mules, craft cocktails, oh yeah - and food! The grilled cheese IN the tomato soup is the perfect comfort food. This is a great neighborhood bar, and I don't even live in this neighborhood. I don't know why my heels always slip on this floor though, so it's dangerous to come after work.

It's been 6.5 yrs, I need to update my Three Lions review ;) Poutine is back, baby!!!! Honestly, the food is better than ever. You cannot go wrong with the Tannery Row for brunch, and it is the perfect amount of food. Fish & chips - classic, and so good (better than several places I visited in the UK, actually!), but please bring back the mushy peas. You can get a Pimm's cup. A PIMM's CUP! And Shanky's Whip! Don't ask, just order it... Highly recommend!!! After visiting England twice, I now fully and truly appreciate the care and craftmanship the owners and employees have brought into this fine establishment. I was present for every Euros game featuring Team England this past season - the joy was contagious. I even felt comfortable going by myself (and noticed many others were as well), which is something I learned from my first solo vacation in England. After the pandemic, I was not going out for brunch/dinner/drinks, mostly because I did not want to venture outside my bubble. Honestly, having this amazing, welcoming place that reminds me of some of my life's favorite moments, along with terrific food and unique drinks and is only a few minutes walk from where I live, has really helped me break out of my troll-like homebody routine. A solid 5-star establishment. I love it so much, I've bragged about it to my English friends and have even told my favorite DJs (aka radio show hosts) about it. Never change!!

Returned to TLP on a Sunday to have some brunch with a friend of mine. There were plenty of spots but it was busier than I thought. A soccer game was on, which ppl really seemed to be there for and excited about. If you don't like a loud, laid-back atmosphere, it's probably not the spot for you in the winter. My friend got a bloody, which she enjoyed. For food, I got the pork belly BLT. My only qualm is I asked for onions to be added and they didn't. No biggie, as the sandwich itself was still delicious. They gave me a side of Mayo I asked for, but not the side of the aioli. My sandwich and fries were good. I just had to order the sticky toffee. I love toffee. Although good, this dessert wasn't what I was expecting. Too much pudding for me and not enough of the sticky toffee. Otherwise it was a good dessert but I wouldn't order it again. Definitely a spot I'll be sure to hit up again in the future. Maybe another summer stop-in!

I'm not sure whether I should review here or not... We were craving a good burrito, and found a place called "Taqueria de Leon". It had no reviews. But it was close by and I'm all for supporting new restaurants - especially during these covid days! - so we decided to call in. It turns out that this is not really a restaurant, but a delivery service that uses Three Lions Pub's kitchen. At least, that's what the gal on the phone told us. I'm thinking it's more like Three Lions Pub is adding more food to their delivery/takeout service and wanted to keep the Mexican cuisine separate. I applaud business owners for trying new things during these hard times. I will write a separate review for the food in the Taqueria de Leon page. This updated review for Three Lions Pub is for the service I received here. Everyone we talked to, from the gal on the phone to the guy giving us the food, the nice text message when the food was ready, was awesome. Five stars. The pretty pick up set-up, and the beautiful outdoor seating area were also wonderful. We would personally err on the side of over careful and eat at home, but the set up here is so nice I'm quite tempted. I did knock off one star for the confusion with the Taqueria de Leon. It's a great idea - I just wish it was more transparent from the gecko so there is no confusion. Like, I would have hoped Taqueria de Leon was a more authentic Mexican joint dedicated to burritos (like their menu suggested). Still not disappointed I tried it, but went in with different expectations.

Three Lions has a special place in my heart. Having been here a million and one times, it's astonishing I've yet to write a review. This week though, I've been inspired to write one about an experience different than usual. In these crazy, crazy times small businesses are all making rapid changes and adjustments to stay afloat and continue serving the community. Three Lions is one of those places! As way of social distancing, they even have creatively taped lines and lanes inside the pub for when patrons enter for their pickup orders. Outside of their regular food menu on offer, you can now pickup or fill up their 32oz of 64oz growlers. My husband and I decided to do just that. We chose the Kronenbourg Blanc currently on tap. It was a "swipe-your-own-card" situation making the transaction as *clean* as possible. The staff that are providing services still have smiles and you can tell their team is staying strong together. Cheers to the community who is offering support - I heard their Friday Fish Fry sold out!

    Nice place.

They have indoor and outdoor seating for the season. Great for mini hangouts with friends. I tried their soup of the day , broccoli cheese, and salad that was pretty good. They got my dressing wrong, supposed to be ranch but it was bleu cheese. It seems the place was busy and only had one server so it took sometime to receive the entrees, so plan ahead if you're expecting to eat hungry.

Von Trier is an institution -- not the bad kind, like a "mental institution", or an "Ale Asylum" (I…read morelove that name!); the very good kind, as in a cultural and community treasure. I'm old enough to remember the place when it was Rieder's. Already a warm and special place, with a jukebox filled with classical music, it had a groovy mid century modern decor and was a hangout for MSO musicians after concerts. It acquired its lavish, present-day German decor when it was sold to Karl Lotharius. I don't recall how much longer, after that, the jukebox survived, but the astounding decor remains. Alas, there's a reason for my one star (which, I hope and assume, the present owners will notice) . . . and it has to do with a certain scourge -- the maddening omnipresence of which is second only to that of A.I. I refer to TV screens. There have been several ownership changes since Lotharius departed this mortal coil, and I honestly don't know at what point in time it was decided to tarnish the decor with the addition of several TVs. (I was so enraged by the sight of them, when I first entered the front door after a long time away, that I didn't bother to look at the back room; consequently, I have no idea whether the scourge has ruined that room as well.) Clearly, in jumping on the "give the people what they want" bandwagon, the owners (current and/or recent) believe that there's no such thing as too many sports bars (or at least, bars that can be compelled to serve that function at least some of the time). Gosh, I would think that people who are so into SPORTS, when coming upon a bar lacking screens, would have sufficient fitness, energy and motivation to walk a block or two extra, if necessary, to find and enter one of the many other establishments equipped to satisfy their jones for that pathetic fix. But then again, I guess it's that fundamental laziness that makes them mere spectators. There's only one thing worse than a proprietor so lacking in imagination, individuality, courage and self-respect that, when choosing a design for their establishment, they cave to the TV trend. It's a proprietor who ruins an EXISTING treasure by plunking multiple TV screens into the middle of it all. Like turds in a punch bowl. It's great to "get away from it all" for a while, isn't it, for a nice meal, drinks and conversation? The thing is, if I want a TV screen, I can see one at home. (But I don't want to. Not always, anyway. To judge from what TV, movies and commercials show us, every home now has the same standard, ugly, huge plastic rectangle (the TV screen) dominating its designated room(s), out in the open. As for me, I require mine to live inside a closed cabinet. It only comes out when I say that it can.) And, rather than seeing constant reminders that our world has all but become the kind of dystopia in which there's no escaping that intrusive electronic barrage, I could instead just stay at home and watch any of the many sci-fi movies on that theme (a theme that used to be merely a warning. Now, such films more resemble documentaries.) Shame.

Luckily when we got there the back room was open and they pushed some tables together for us. I'd like to make this a 2.5-star review. The food was quite good. We enjoyed our drinks. The atmosphere was as cozy as ever. Our service was deeply disappointing. Our server, A.S., might have been tired or something. I can't speak for her state of mind, but she was really detached and borderline dismissive. Yes, we got all of our food. We would certainly have ordered more drinks, increasing our tab and gratuity, but she never came back and asked if anyone wanted one. One of our guests ordered avocado toast. Apparently they were out. She came back and said "Whoever ordered the avocado toast, we're out." She didn't know who ordered which dish to start, and then she didn't bring a menu back so the guest could make an informed second choice. They had to just order whatever they remembered. Coffee drinkers were offered one refill - just one. Seriously, I don't know what was going on, but we left pretty quickly since our celebratory mood was being squelched.
