Shepherds pie, baby, and a empty pint of Smithwicks

Took the Hop over to the County Clare pub on Friday after the Catalono Square beer garden got too cold...on May 1. Seriously, we had snow! First - I enjoyed the Hop ride from the Third Ward. Second - I enjoyed the atmosphere and hospitality at the County Clare Pub! The pints of Guinness and Smithwicks were good. The wife had a Reuben and I had the Shepherds pie. Both were really good. I love that they use Breadsmiths bread for their sandwiches. Limited pictures because focusing was tough after a few pints....

Great vibes. Good drinks. Decent food. That's the perfect way to explain County Clare. Fish fry was good but my pot roast was dry as David's hands. The green beans were good until halfway through when the garlic started seeping through my pores. Drink prices are super reasonable. Cocktails are $9 which is a steal in Milwaukee. We love the atmosphere and sitting at the bar for a drink. Will definitely be back.

Stopped at County Clare after work on St. Patrick's Day. They had a tent set up in the back with a bar and live music. $5 cover charge that was being donated to a charity. After one drink we headed inside for some Ruben rolls. They were good and served with a side of horseradish that I really enjoyed. My friend wanted thousand island and asked for a side, but she was told they are not doing sides today. Overall, it was busy, but not obnoxiously busy. When I left around 7pm there was a pretty long line of people waiting to get in.

The coziest place, if you get a chance to sit in snug's corner, take it! Also - best Bloody Mary in MKE and the root soup is to die for. They have live music which levels it up, and the bartenders are so friendly and attentive!

I haven't been here in years but was glad to drop back in. The space is cozy with lots of sayings and paintings on the walls, which most are dark green and warm. There are plenty of spots at the bar to enjoy a beverage, including Guinness, but lots of tables for dining as well. I had to grab the corned beef at a place like this of course. It was a little dry in my mind, and the potatoes were a little dry as well. But the flavor of the corned beef was great, and the cabbage was colorful. It was a good place to stop occasionally in the future.

I hadn't been to County Clare in lat least two decades when a friend and I decided to stop by for brunch. We had fond memories of visits of years past and had discussed going before, but someone hadn't made it over there. We lucked into a close parking spot on a Sunday early afternoon and were seated immediately by the fireplace in the snug area. Our waitress came over immediately and asked for drink orders, but we hadn't had time to even look at the menu yet. I had been in the mood for a Bloody Mary, but theirs are made with Clamato so I pivoted to a mimosa, which was basic but good. My friend asked what type of teas they had to which the server said pretty much everything - no, as it turns out they had two types. An inauspicious start. to out experience, but we foraged on. My friend ordered the root vegetable soup and house salad. She picked quite a lot of wilted, less than fresh lettuce out of the salad and found the soup to be good, but overly sweet. I did better with my choice of a vegetarian frittata with potato fritters, which was tasty, but not extraordinary. Service continued to be weirdly paced and a little uneven. I don't think the interior has changed, possibly ever. This was a nostalgic visit but now that we've done it, I won't need to go back. County Clare seems dated, rather than classic these days and there's too much out there in Milwaukee that's truly great.

Great place to celebrate St Patty's Day. Great place year round. Great food, great staff, great hospitality, exactly what you would expect in an Irish pub. Fast service inside and outside in the massive beer tent lots of activities going on great ambiance. What are you waiting for come on down and enjoy the fun. Bon appétit happy Saint Patty's day.

Cute bed and breakfast. On the weekends they have free omelets for guests and a great selection of other continental breakfast items.

Best corned beef in Milwaukee - maybe the midwest. Awesome neighborhood pub and the atmosphere you want.

My appetizer was essentially served cold, unapologetically. The ambience is great but I probably wouldn't return. The service was mid.

Drinks arrived, followed almost immediately by appetizers, and then two entrees simultaneously, with the remaining dishes trickling out over the next 15 minutes. This disjointed timing meant some of us waited a considerable amount of time for our food while others at the table had already received theirs. The quality of the food was a major letdown. Several dishes suffered from poor preparation; the fries were hard, and the cheese curds were visibly overcooked, suggesting old oil. While the spinach dip itself was good, it was served with stale chips. My dad's Friday fish fry was particularly disappointing, with the cod tasting less than fresh due to the oil. My girlfriend enjoyed her chicken bacon wrap, but found the macaroni and cheese overwhelmingly cheesy and unseasoned. When my grilled chicken sandwich finally arrived, I discovered they'd forgotten the lettuce, and the chicken itself was chewy. My mother's burger was simply "okay." Overall, the experience felt overpriced for the quality received. The lack of attentiveness from our server, who never once checked on our food if it was tasting good or not, only added to our dissatisfaction. We left questioning who really is on third, as the entire dining experience was far from what we'd hoped for.

The outdoor area is especially nice, with all the gorgeous plants that the manager/owner personally hand-waters. It's a small detail, but it really adds to the atmosphere. The place can get very busy before a Brewers game, which is completely understandable. They do have parking, although street parking is pretty plentiful too. Inside is a little tight, but groups of up to six should be able to find a spot without too much trouble. Anything larger than that might get a little dicey. I tried the chicken sandwich, and while the chicken itself was a little thin, the flavor had me wanting to come back for another one. Sometimes that's all you need to know.
