If you want a great marina in a great spot with clean bathrooms, great staff, very nice pool and a very laid back atmosphere... this is the place. Spent 3 days here and it was great. Staff answered all questions and took care of anything needed. The surroundings were beautiful. Super clean as well. The ONLY reason I am not giving 5 stars is because it would be nice if the bathrooms were air conditioned. Other than that, it all was a 5 Star!

I rented a couple of Kayaks from here yesterday. The reservation was pretty easy to make, with…read moreoptions to fill out the waivers and pay for this in advance, online. We arrived 1/2 hour late, and they were able to hold our equipment and it made no difference in our reservation... 4 hours began at the time that we stepped out of their office. They have a restroom for the public in the next building over, which was kept clean and stocked. A gentleman helped us into our kayaks and sent us off. The river is beautiful, though because it's quite wide, you need to share it with yachts and boats of various sizes. This creates some waves, and they can be a pain in the ass. In general, people on the water are cool with each other, but there are some (maybe it's a Long Island thing) who feel so superior in their big beautiful boats and treat you like a pipsqueak in their way. As I was all the way to the right side of the river, while returning to the dock, a boat came up behind me. I turned around, looked at the guy driving, and he made a hand motion to say "move over to the left." I thought I was blocking his way into his dock, but he passed me by and kept going straight! Like WTF? That has nothing to do with L.I. Canoe Kayak Rentals, I'm just commenting on the experience in general. To add to the experience, there are some really nice spots with exposed sand (when it's not high tide) that you can hang out along and explore nature. There's a bird sanctuary as well... which wasn't really that impressive, but that may have just been my timing. When we returned to the dock, we pulled in our kayaks and there was no one present to help us out. A couple of ladies pulled their kayaks in, and one needed help getting out, so we provided that help ourselves. I wasn't so impressed about that aspect of this business, though I realize it's probably a lot to ask for them to have someone standing on the dock all day to receive people who are returning. It wasn't a cheap trip, but I'd likely return. I will probably check out some other places first though.

He is an excellent driver, both navigating out of the marina and trying to throw teenagers off the inner tube. He's a perfect mix of friendly and nice while still allowing you to have private conversations and enjoy yourself. Anybody looking to spend an afternoon on the water should seriously consider booking this place. Bring some food and drinks, and expect a great time!

The boat was immaculate, and had plenty of room for us to lounge, drink, and dance. The sound system was amazing. The sail was beautiful. And most importantly, I cannot say enough about our captain JR. He was friendly, fun, and did everything in his power to make sure we had a blast. (Side recommendation- we added on a few hours of a jet ski to our sail and it was worth it!). I 100% recommend. It was worth every penny and was a day we will never forget.

When I called, the captain was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional, claiming they "left at 6:45 because nobody showed up." There was no instruction anywhere in the booking confirmation or website about needing to arrive early or check in ahead of time. If an earlier arrival was required, it should have been clearly communicated. Instead, I was left standing on the dock watching my paid trip disappear -- and then got blamed for it. This is terrible customer service and a total lack of accountability. If this is how they treat paying customers, I strongly suggest booking elsewhere.
