Then we went on an island vacation and neglected to brush out the second wave of tangles. When we returned, the kid had some gnarly dreads that were just clumps of twisted hair. We lovingly referred to the back of her hair as "A 4 piece McNugget." I had spent hours trying to comb it out. I bought every detangling lotion, serum, milk, oil- ALL of it! I made very little progress. I had accepted that we needed a professional, and we even got turned away from a barber shop in Pleasanton. A friend told me that she really believed that her friend Hollee at 3 Palms Salon could help us out. The salon itself is really pretty, and inviting. The house gives an upscale ( pamper/treat yo self) vibe with zero pretentiousness. Everyone was friendly, and my little lady immediately relaxed. I explained to Hollee that she was more than welcome to shave the back (underneath) or cut her hair very short. We knew that we might be going from dreadlocks to punk rocks- and we we're ok with that. Hollee said, "No, I can comb this out, I just need time." I went shopping in Downtown Ltown, and Hollee managed to smooth out and trim a brand new DO! She even added magic sparkles. I was pretty surprised, because two of the tangled mats were at the base of the scalp, what a relief to have everything all fixed up again. Another thing that she did was talk about which products prevent, combat, and repair the Chlorine Damage. She was so understanding and sympathetic. We simply could not be happier with the service, the stylist, the atmosphere, the magic, and the final result! Had an awesome appointment yesterday with Cheriece. She gave me a bit of a trim, and added a GORGEOUS purple to my curls! I'm so in love with my new look! I'd never been to Three Palms before, so she gave me a super quick tour of the downstairs... It's soooo cute, and homey, and their bathroom is to die for! They have a whole room set aside for wash stations, which are actually pretty comfy and spaced nicely so you're not elbow to elbow with the nearest person. Overall, a wonderful experience. I contacted the salon on yelp to see if they could give me a haircut the next day. The lady who contacted me was pleasant and let me know Ariel would be contacting me. Not long after she contacted me and we set up an appointment for the following day...mind you, this was late at night so I was very impressed I was responded to so quickly. The salon itself is inside of a house. It's really cute and the building is very nice. Parking isn't the greatest. I did park across the street and was able to use a crosswalk to walk across. There were places to park overall though so it wasn't that bad...just not the greatest. Ariel was really amazing. Her personality and overall friendliness really sold it for me. I have one stylist I have allowed to touch my hair for over 10 years -- and her name is Chereice. I have had hair nearly all colors (natural tones) done by her, from blonde, to dark brunette, to fire red with retro bangs. Highlights, lowlights, toning. She has done it all to perfection without frying my hair. Not only is Chereice a talented stylist, she takes a genuine, heart-centered interest in her clients. If you tell her something during your visit, whether it be about your hair or your personal life -- she will likely remember and mention it the next time you're in her chair (which could be 2 months later!). This kind of individualized attention and friendship she provides is one of the main reasons I have stayed loyal this long. They left no place untouched and were able to find and work out knots and tension that my husband and I didn't even know we had. When I pointed out since I was requesting an appointment, I would want the massage therapist contacted, I was then told they don't book online because its creepy...... ok... so don't offer online booking.. I have been seeing Leah Basciani for chronic lower back pain and pain associated with sciatica for about a year now. I have to say she is working miracles. In the 25+ years I have been dealing with back issues I have been to doctors, other massage therapists and chiropractors without much success.
