Lori is the BEST! After recently moving out to Midland we were in need of someone to look after our two large and energetic (to say the least) pups. After meeting with Lori we knew she was up to the task! One of our pups was particularly anxious about having someone new in her space but Lori was SO patient with her and by the end of the weekend it was like they were old friends!! We know our dogs are a handful and it takes a special person to care for them like she did. I wasn't looking for a pet sitter but for someone whom I could trust entering my home to take care of many houseplants for me while I was gone for an extended length of time. I'd rather not bother friends or neighbors with this task so Lori was the perfect solution.  From the beginning she was professional yet friendly. She took the time to visit with me to explain what needed to be done. It may seem like a menial responsibility but she knew it was important to me. She took pictures on the agreed scheduled days, one of which was a day of snow and icy roads. She takes her business very seriously. She has an obvious genuine love for animals so I know if she takes such good care of just silly houseplants how much more care she'd take of beloved pets. Our dog Sophie was always very happy when Lori came to care for her when we were away. Lori obviously knows and loves dogs and we knew she was in good hands. We would receive regular photos and updates which helped us relax knowing she was so well cared for. Sophie is a Romanian rescue dog who travelled to Midland with us from Scotland, so we really don't know what she has been through in the past, but she can be reactive to other dogs. Lori could tell that with a bit of care and gradual introduction she started to relax and eventually got on well with Lori's little Yorkie, Pumpkin. We have now returned to Scotland but are thankful to have known Lori, as is Sophie! read more

I used to think that a professional pet sitter was an unnecessary expense, oh how I was wrong! Before I moved to Midland I used to rely on hiring friends and neighbors to watch my kitties while I was away. There was always some sort of problem or disaster I would find when I got home, some incidents worse than others. Though I never lost a cat, it got to the point where if they were alive when I got home I considered it a success! This was not fair to my kitties, in the best of circumstances they were still very upset with me when I returned. She wanted to know everything about my babies, their personalities and even how each individual likes to be pet! She what the average person would consider to be 'overqualified', now I wouldn't want anyone else to care for my fur babies! Lori has watched over my babies numerous times already, both short and long trips, and I've never had a worry! I love receiving the updates and pictures she sends while I'm away! If they run out of supplies, she will go to the store. She provides play time and cuddles and cat whispering and loves them like I love them! I can tell when my cats are happy, they are always happy and content when I return! As funny as it sounds, one of my cats actually looks sad when I get back! Because it means Lori won't be coming over for a while! I was also pleasantly surprised that Lori's rates are very affordable and fair! I have several cats and for far less money than boarding, I can have them cared for in my home by someone who knows them by name! If you're anything like me, my cats are my children! Lori is always great with my Maltese, Mollie. I always know Mollie and my home are well taken care of while I'm away. Not only does she take care of the general tasks like feedings and walks, but she goes above and beyond with little things that mean so much! Lori was the best! She took care of my kitten for a week. She sends pictures daily and the cat was way better socialized after my trip.

Unfortunately, Lori was unable to take care of my dogs due to me being out of her working area. However, she did visit with me and do her best to guide me in finding someone who would be able to help me. It is never easy to leave our kitties when we go out of town (because no one can make you feel as guilty as a kitty). But knowing that Lori will be taking care of them makes it easier as I know that they will be well cared for. Lori is extremely thorough and does not overlook any detail in regards to caring for the kitties. In addition she makes certain that everything is fine in the house, newspapers picked up and mail brought in. I used Lori about a year ago and when she walked in I could tell she was a bit socially awkward because she just sat in the floor. But my yorkies seemed to like her so we decided to hire her for a weekend. We do have some cameras in the house and I wanted to be sure everything was going good because she asked for her money up front. So I was watching the cameras just breezing through some of the last few days when I saw her pick my my two yorkies and sit on the couch and she was talking to them which I thought was sweet then she just started crying and hugging the dogs. After about 20 minutes she got herself together and left. I showed this to my husband and he said. "what is wrong with her?" Since I didn't know and we were coming home the next day, i asked Lori to come over to talk. She gets there and she is already on edge and shaking I sit her down and ask if she is okay. When I brought up the crying thing she seemed to get offended and she just stormed out saying her mental health is none of my concern. I really wanted to get our keys back to our house but she would never answer the phone or return my messages. So we ended up having to pay to get our locks changed. I would say she is more comfortable with animals then people and she is very uninterested in fixing that problem. There is another pet sitter in town and I would go with her, she is a very nice lady and does a good job. read more
