Bumping up my rating for Great Plains Veterinary Clinic & Hospital…read more First, I have worked with them on a few occasions this year with my sister-in-law's fosters. Second, they were at my rescue when I found out kind of last minute that my dog needed a Leptospirosis Vaccine as required by a boarding outfit in Hot Springs, Arkansas for our vacation trip. My vet (Dal Paso Animal Clinic) also here in Hobbs, New Mexico, doesn't include the Lepto or offer it separately. Hobbs Animal Clinic would not pick up the phone when I called. And the only other place I called before Great Plains was Double J. Their price was I think $80 for the vaccine and $27 for a required examination - or maybe I have it backwards, but I think I have it right. PLUS, Double J didn't have an appointment available for my dog for another week - that would have been WHILE we were in Arkansas. Great Plains answered right away. They did need me to make an appointment, but it was the same day - just later that afternoon plus they did not charge for an exam. My dog's shot was $42 and so worth it because she was a great traveler. All of the ladies who work here are so nice and understanding. I finally saw Dr. Kuitu for a split second. He has seemingly only aged a little since I last saw him 20 years ago.

She had ONLY vomited once while there in your care and I was told "she died of a seizure this morning" I went to your hospital less than 45 min later and she was in vigor mortis! She had died several hrs prior to your staff calling me. You've blocked me from posting on your page on Facebook for calling you out. No courtesy call to explain that she had a seizure from more than likely hypoglycemia which is PREVENTABLE especially in YOUR CARE! When my husband and I went to see her she was solid, cold, her eyes were matted from crying and her bedding was wet!!!!!!! How disgusting! She deserved some dignity! She was my therapy dog! I loved her like my own child! How can your staff be so cold! I am requesting her medical records. The audacity to have me pay 1100.00 dollars and then you still request 43.00 plus dollars?? You killed my baby! Can you tell me with all honestly I will get HER ashes? I wasn't allowed to bring her home to bury her at my sisters ranch. We were told she was contagious. Explain to me why I was told admitting her in your care she would be monitored closely??? That's a down right lie! Had she been monitored you would have seen her get lethargic! I have been taking my animals to A to Z for about 14 years now. This was the only Vet I trusted,…read moreand believe me I tried other vets that were less expensive even took my babies to Seminole because the vet there is a third of the price of A-to-Z costs, even with the drive there and back . But recently, my cats have been diagnosed with roundworms because I rescued a stray recently, and she ended up having worms. I can't get one of my cats to take the medicine and surprisingly I called the vet to see if they could help me and they just gave me the same advice to crush up the pills and put it in water and put it in a syringe and give it to him. Well, I tried to let the girl answer the phone. No I did all of that and I also tried crashing it up and putting it in tuna oil, and I tried putting it in his favorite food. He's not the friendliest cat so he gets very traumatized. Whenever you wrap him in a blanket try to force something down his throat. He will literally bite you and claw you. But that's just his nature, we knew this about him when we rescued him as a little kitten and we just let him be the cat that he wants to be. He doesn't bother us unless we try to pick him up or try to give him any medicine apparently. I called A-to-Z just to have them help me and I was turned down. Roundworms don't just go away on their own. They're fatal and I'm trying to save my animals. I'm very disappointed with this Vet.
