We also briefly visited Antioch college, Alma mater of Rod Serling. This idyllic town and hotel remind me of the perfect start to an episode of the Twilight Zone. The loft features high ceilings and my wife compared it to staying in a treehouse. There's also an adorable breakfast nook under a window looking out over the trees. Yellow Springs, Ohio is certainly my kind of quirky and lived up to expectations. From Jailhouse, it's a short walk, say five minutes, down to the heart of the town, and the famed Little Miami trail. This is a perfect location for those hoping to enjoy what the town has to offer. Bedding was comfortable, as was the room temperature. All appliances and fixtures worked well. Loved the Evelyn & Crabtree toiletries as well as the thick, fresh towels! Breakfast was very simple, consisting of cereals and canned fruit salad with a few cellophane-wrapped sweets, but the local coffee brew was hot, fresh and strong! We visited the little gift shop, and picked up a history book and vintage postcards. There are local crafts and wares available too. We recommend the Hearthstone to anyone considering a visit to the area.

It was clean, safe, and close to downtown. I was looking forward to the s'mores around the fire ring and the friendly proprietors I had read about, but I guess those are long gone. There's nobody on site to help with anything. Check in was confusing, as we didn't receive an email with our code. We arrived at 5 pm, but still had trouble getting somebody on the phone to assist us. There are no amenities, including ice. They point out the dumpster on property, so I guess there's that. For the price, this should be a nicer motel. I'll stay elsewhere in the future.

Patty know so much about this town and is proud of it as she should be. I love this town!
