We enjoyed the relaxing and informative cruise on the Kentucky River. Daryl, our tour guide, shared…read moreinteresting stories about the River, Kentucky history and bourbon making. He was friendly, engaging and humorous. The round trip ride lasted about 90 minutes. The boat was very nice with bench seating and the ride was smooth. We sat upstairs in the open air to enjoy to scenery. A bar tender will take drink orders and deliver beverages to your seats. Drink prices are reasonable. Drinks can also be ordered and purchased on line. (I think snacks were also available). We booked our cruise several months in advance with tour and tasting tickets at Buffalo Trace Distillery. Two members of our party backed out and we were able to cancel their reservations (thankfully) the week before and get a refund. We started with our visit to Buffalo Trace. We arrived about an hour early so we could shop at the distillery and we were glad we did because we did not have time to shop after the tasting and getting to the boat. The tight timeline between the tasting and the boat departure was the only downside to the trip. I recommend the cruise, but plan on going at least an hour early to the distillery to shop.

The weather was enjoyable in late September and the shaded top deck had 360° views. The crew were friendly and attentive, the boat clean and in good shape. There is a drink menu available online, the prices were reasonable and the selection extensive. Nathan was our guide and we recommend them. They were knowledgeable and got a few laughs out of us. The sites seen along the way were lovely and some only accessible by boat. Passing under the bridges and by nature was made more fun knowing their history, we also saw the effects of the recent flood. We didn't see the distillery, but that might have been a different tour, different season or a result of the flood, but we got to see the singing bridge, which we were told would be deconstructed in time. We had a great time aboard the Kentucky River Boat and would return. Be sure to tip your tour guide as ours added to the experience!

It is consistently cold in the cavern, and we dressed appropriately and were comfortable. This included neoprene fingerless gloves, wool socks, and clean water shoes. You cannot wear regular shoes as they scratch the clear kayaks. Our guide, Drew, and his "photographer", Matthew, were excellent. We felt safe, he provided a good amount of information, and had a sense of humor. A really cool experience in the Red River Gouge area.

He took great photos of each of us and our group. The group was small, which I loved because it never felt rushed. The colorful lights you see as you make your way through the cave are very awesome. Just a heads up, your feet and bottom will get very cold! Definitely wear layers and socks. We went in the summer and were still freezing by the end. It IS off the beaten path but IS so worth the effort to get to. The drive there is through some of the most beautiful countryside you'll see in Kentucky's scenic Bluegrass region. We were helped by Ben and Lyndsey the owners. Immediately we felt as if we were family -- honestly. They helped select the right watercraft for us and we had a fabulous time. The scenery is amazing and Stoner Creek is truly away from it all. It meanders through agricultural land so it's incredibly quiet and peaceful -- oh, and did I mention beautiful. That is when I found this hidden gem. I am glad I did. It took a bit of driving to find this place, but was so worth it. I had planned an Unofficial Yelp Event here and just so happened that the weather was perfect. The water was calm and nippy. Such a great day to be out and one with nature. The lauching fee here is $5. You can rent a kayak all day here for $15. How cheap is that? The lady that runs the shop is extremely nice and a good talker. She told me a bit about the history of the place while we waited for my fellow Yelper to show up. Yes that was singular. Only one person showed up for the UYE. It seems alot of people don't like to do physical activity on holidays. LOL Oh well. I loved it. The day was peaceful and relaxing. I think we paddled 5 miles up river and then 5 miles back. It was a perfect day with lots of great scenery. They have an area for a camp ground as well as a store to buy/rent stuff. I am a huge fan of it. If you want to get out into nature and are near here. Stop in. I am sure you will love it. I know I did.

First visit to Jacobson Park, and while it felt like a crazy long hike there with two teens and a…read morepuppy during rush hour, it was worth the drive to experience a bucolic and hopping piece of the outdoors! Our puppy loved the ducks (and these were some FRIENDLY and INTERACTIVE ducks...) and we experienced some other cool avian sightings. Not a surprise - but the restrooms were suitably scary and during the first part of our visit, the overcast and gray sky made the cement building feel ripe for a horror movie experience... compete with a scary service truck and a man in stained overalls. (Please note, the gentleman was actually very friendly and engaging and was hard at work - he was not in any way a negative presence). The park is expansive and it was actually really busy for a Thursday evening. The dog park was intriguing but we ran out of time to visit. The play area had something for all ages and was popular with children through teens. Loads of parking and the shelter area was great for a school gathering. Can't wait to visit again!

There are plenty of green spaces and empty fields to play frisbee, flag football, or volleyball. I drove to the dog park area since the park is strict on having the dogs on leash at all times, so I went there. The dog parks for both small and large dogs are enormous! I have never seen that size of a dog park since I was in Colorado--and that state is known for being pet friendly, so their parks and restaurants are 90% pet-friendly. I took my dog to the small dog park as he is small. It was still 4 P.m. and too hot for my dog. There are not a lot of shades in the small dog area compared to the large dog area. I did not stay that long as my dog did not like being grilled under the sun. I checked out the rest of the park by driving around and noticed a vast playground, a marina (although the water has receded), empty fields, a picnic area, and even a camping area! If I had come later in the day when it was not too hot for my dog, I would have enjoyed my stay here. I have seen plenty of residents around here with their kids, birthday party groups, and groups playing frisbee. I can tell that it is a great park to visit. Cool spot ~

They've done exactly that and then some. I wholeheartedly recommend Marine Works and owner/master mechanic Danny for an overall quality experience. Before I bought a boat from them they did the maintenance and fixed anything i had wrong with my original boat. Danny would take the time to walk me through troubleshooting to make sure it wasn't something small before I drove an hour to bring my boat down there. He always shot me straight and was fair which I appreciated immensely. Fast forward a year and I bought my brand new boat from them. The process was seamless and they took care of everything for me. If I didn't like how something was done they made it right. Danny has always made me feel like a priority which is all you can ask for from a dealer.
