It is consistently cold in the cavern, and we dressed appropriately and were comfortable. This included neoprene fingerless gloves, wool socks, and clean water shoes. You cannot wear regular shoes as they scratch the clear kayaks. Our guide, Drew, and his "photographer", Matthew, were excellent. We felt safe, he provided a good amount of information, and had a sense of humor. A really cool experience in the Red River Gouge area.

First tip - get there early so you can explore the general area. We had a little time, so we hiked to Balanced Rock for some great views and some photo ops. "Gorge Underground" is an abandoned limestone mine (where they accidentally struck water and flooded it beyond use). Luckily, it's great for a kayaking adventure! Our guides were super nice and very informative. With one in front, and one bringing up the rear, you were free to wander (just a little) versus single-file through a boring tour. The experiences is just really cool. At one point, we ended up in the farthest-in part of the cave, and we all turned off our headlamps. Pitch dark. The guide had some funny stories, but then asked if it was anyone's birthday coming up (it was my son's in a couple days). So we all sang happy birthday to him (but he couldn't be embarrassed - it was dark and nobody knew who he was!). After finishing our 90 minute tour, it was time to dock. My wife and I lagged behind to be the last ones out, giving us probably 10 extra minutes of "taking it all in". One regret is that we didn't plan ahead enough to get the clear kayaks with LED lights. That would have been another layer of "cool". I would recommend to anyone. The water is still as can be, so it's a gentle paddle that anyone can do.

I brought my out of the box newly (mostly) assembled Huffy bike to them to repair the back tire…read morebecause when we pumped it up to the recommended PSI in the assembly manual it burst. It had never been ridden because the tire popped before we completed the assembly. They took the bike and claimed to have repaired the inner tube for $10 and assembled/reassembled the bike for another $100!!?? After taxes I owed a total of $116.80. I brought it home 3 days later and my son started to ride the bike and 15 minutes into the ride the back tire burst again. I called the shop and they said they would have to charge me (again) for any additional repairs needing to be made. They said it could be a number of things and I asked how that would be possible if they had checked it as thoroughly as they claimed to the first time. I'm out $116 plus whatever the cost of any additional repair fees they want to charge me. They did not offer a refund or a guarantee of their work. I am extremely disappointed and my son is very sad that he still can't ride the gift of the first adult bike that his grandparents got him.
