The timeline was repeatedly delayed, and the quality of work often fell below acceptable standards unless issues were specifically brought to his attention. Only then were problems acknowledged, and even in those cases, significant rework was required across multiple areas, including floor tile, backsplash tile, stone, and paint and even wall evenness. Communication throughout the project was inconsistent and often unprofessional. There were instances of emotional and inappropriate conduct, which made an already stressful renovation more difficult. Shortly before Christmas, there was an attempt to abandon the project despite an active contract, which was extremely concerning. Site supervision was lacking, resulting in safety, cleanliness, and property-damage issues in an occupied home. Substantial damage occurred to our cabinetry, and extensive cleanup was required due to inadequate protection of the work area. These issues reflected poor planning, insufficient oversight, and a lack of respect for the home during construction. Additionally, there were serious concerns regarding the contractor's vetting and supervision of subcontractors working inside our home. When these concerns were raised, they were not handled with appropriate transparency or accountability. The contractor also informed us that he plans to close his current business and may continue operating under a different name going forward. Given the issues experienced on this project, this disclosure raised further concerns regarding accountability and continuity of responsibility. Overall, the experience reflected a lack of leadership, responsibility, and professionalism that I would expect from a general contractor. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this contractor. David's response falls in line with what we experienced during the project...lacking accountability. We did not have any changes during our project, only added wainscoting and paint in the dining room, so essentially offered him more work. My pictures and feedback are evidence of our experience.

They were in constant communication with me -- which was important in terms of managing my expectations and letting me know when we were waiting on some of the custom pieces to arrive. In October of this year I contacted Jay to fix the trim that had come off in a storm. I was told they don't do siding anymore and the warranty doesn't cover winds of 88+ mph (which we didn't have). After a few email exchanges, they have not gotten back to me. We now have gone through insurance to have the trim replaced. At the time of the original work, I gave them a break and did not plaster this all over social media. A mistake I won't make again when I've been taken.

We even know the owners personally and they still screwed us over, so imagine what they would do to you if you don't know them.... This was our first experience with a home insurance claim for water damage and John, whom we attend church with, coached us not to contact our insurance until their job was done, pay them as soon as they removed the last piece of equipment, and submit the receipt to insurance and insurance would pay us back. He said we would maybe have to push a little and send a few emails, but 100% of their customers have had insurance pay in full. He lulled us into a false sense of security, and add on top of this our trust in him because of knowing him personally, we believed him. BIG MISTAKE. We paid him upfront over $12,000 cash and insurance said the job was only valued at a little over $8000 so that's all they reimbursed us for, putting us out $4500! My insurance tried contacting them multiple times to have them explain the excessive charges, they ignored their calls. After speaking to John myself, Jeff finally answered my adjusters call who explained some charges, and John contacted me after saying my insurance agreed to pay the rest of the bill. ANOTHER LIE! I later found out from my insurance that my adjuster never said that and he would still not be paying on the full amount because it was outrageous compared to what it should be. John admitted to me on the phone how they hide extra charges into the cost of a fan or else insurance wouldn't pay them, which is what makes it look expensive to insurance, yet they won't be honest with the insurance companies about what costs they are hiding hoping insurance will just pay it. But then when insurance doesn't pay it because to them it looks like they are charging 4x industry standards for the cost of a fan it just bites the homeowner instead! In the end, I requested a refund from Rainy Day the difference and John brushed me off telling me to hire a public adjuster to continue to fight my insurance. He offered to pay up to $500 for their fee, but we would still likely pay much more than that because of the size of our claim as a whole and we don't want to risk losing even more money when insurance will most likely still say no. This whole thing could have been avoided if we chose a company that went through insurance, learn from our mistake! I have many many more grievances with the way this company took advantage of us and hurt us not just financially, but emotionally and mentally as well, but my point is DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. Also, these good reviews are padded with people they know or who have worked for them. The review with the dishwasher leak and pictures is the owners own kitchen, and he didn't even pay a dime for it because he told me his business ate the cost of his repairs. Fast, Meticulous, and Fair Pricing…read more In preparation for selling my home, I obtained quotes from three roofing companies in the area to repair damage to my garage ceiling from a neglected minor roof leak. SCI Roofing & Remodeling provided the best quote and completed the work ahead of the deadline with no compromise in quality. The first quote came from a company that urged me to file a claim with my homeowner's insurance without even looking at the damage! Their unethical behavior ruled them out for me. The second quote was based on drone photos; he immediately identified the problem, and he also proposed filing a claim based not only the drone photos but also meteorological data. The problem is that my roof is only 3 years old; the damage in the photos was small marks that showed no penetration; and even if I chose not to file a claim on the entire roof, he proposed to repair the leak by reconstructing a large part of the roof around the leak. I am sure that this would have been an excellent and thorough repair, but it was far beyond my budget. I went with SCI Roofing & Remodeling because they were the only quote that did not try to exaggerate the damage and they proposed a very targeted repair resulting in a quote that was less than half the highest quote. In addition, they offered to include many interior renovation repairs to optimize the appearance of my house for showing. Finally, not only did they propose a reasonably sized project and deliver excellent quality, but they also completed everything about half a day early! For these reasons, I am grateful that I found this company and am happy to recommend them to others because they are one of the few companies that provide honest, courteous, and skilled work for a fair price.

The roof remained incomplete for another month until they corners finally started coming up. I called and complained to them and finally someone showed up to install the metal coping material around the parapet. The guys who installed the roof put the nails on the wrong side and coping material didn't cover up the nail holes. They also failed to pay the installer and he's calling me all the time about his money. I now have to complete the roof which cost another $3K and figure out a way to get the metal company some money for their work. I paid them $14K for this roof and will be out probably another $6K to finish it. Everyone's complaint about this company is right. They are crooks and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. We plan to sue them just to get these issues on their company record.
