What's worse is that he had already sprayed my yard, leaving me with dead, unsightly grass and no plan to repair or finish the work. Now I'm left scrambling to fix damage I didn't ask for just because I wanted to make an informed decision. The photo attached shows the current state of my lawn. It's clear, marked, and dead. This wasn't how I expected the relationship to end. If you're considering RC Landscaping, beware: if you seek clarity on price, they might just leave you mid-project. RESPONSE : I initially contacted RC Landscaping to help design flower beds for my front yard. We discussed expectations, and he even came out to mark the yard and spray it to prep for install. While I hadn't delivered the materials yet, I was planning to, and we had a start date set. Things changed when I asked a simple question about pricing. Another contractor had stopped by with a lower estimate, and I wanted to understand the difference--especially since only one bed was multi-layered and the rest were basic. I wasn't trying to cancel the job; just asking for clarity. Instead of a conversation, the contractor called off the job entirely, citing a lack of trust. I was left with patches of dead grass and no work done. I also asked to keep the drawing for reference (since I now have to start over), but was told no. The owner claims I was difficult or indecisive--but I have screenshots that show I was respectful and collaborative throughout. I never changed the job scope drastically--I asked thoughtful questions as part of normal planning. In the end, I can't recommend this business based on how the situation was handled. I hired Autograph Construction [a.k.a. Accede Construction] on 21 June 2019 to repair damages to…read moreour property caused by the 9 June 2019 storms in North Dallas. Of all the items requiring repair / replacement Autograph Construction's sub-contractors only replaced the asphalt shingle roof [2,100 sq/ft] and part of the vinyl siding [198 sq/ft]. Some vinyl siding panels fell off with the first wind we had. When my request for a detailed invoice was answered with - "... We are sorting out the numbers. I'll get back with you in a few days. If insurance company calls which they might please just defer them to me. Have them call your general contractor. ..." I got suspicious and requested a copy of the invoice / claim from my Insurance Company. Only after I informed Autograph Construction that I had obtained copies of the claim from the Insurance Company did Autograph Construction comply with my request and send me one of the two invoices / claims it had sent to the Insurance Company. The invoice for the remedial siding work, I obtained from the Insurance Company, claimed that old insulating panels and house wrap were removed and replaced with new insulating panels and house wrap. It also claimed that ladders, ladder jacks & scaffolding was required [for our allegedly 36' high single story house]. None of these claims are factual. No insulating panels or house wrap were replaced! The work was done by one semi-skilled person using a ladder and charging an hourly labor rate of about $167! To bring the roof into compliance, OSB sheathing had to be installed. Autograph Construction claimed that 5/8" sheathing was used when it actually used 7/16". Examples of other fraudulent claims: Remove old 1" x 6" roofing boards = $1,186; Antenna removed & replaced = $222; Meter mast for overhead power detached & reset = $609; Two 1 - 3 ton dumpster = $925; etc. etc. None of that was done! The total of the Autograph Construction's claim filed with my Insurance Company, for replacing a 2,100 sq/ft asphalt shingle roof and 198 sq/ft of vinyl siding, was $17,938. After comparing the invoiced line items to work actually done and material actually used, it is clear that Autograph Construction filed fraudulent claims for thousands of dollars!
