The first time I used a Pep Boys I had my wife, dog and a pile of groceries in the car when I suddenly saw my tire pressure dropping quickly. I managed to pull into a nearby Pep Boys as the tire completely went flatand not only did they immediately replace the tire so I could catch a ferry to my home island, they put our groceries in their fridge while we went next door for lunch. Cut to ABQ. I've lived here just about 16 months and I've had 3 leaking tires; all of which turned out to be nails or screws. What is up with that? I also have a new hand me down Subaru which developed an EVAP drain clog so all the water was splashing into the passenger side of the car. For all of these I went to Pep Boys and all 4 times they made the repair within an hour and all three times it was dirt cheap, mostly the standard repair charge. For the evap system I went home and it was ready by the time I got home. These guys are friendly and super fast. And they're so efficient and nice that people waiting in the lobby are friendly with each other. The last time I waited there, some college kids who were waiting were praciticing a Tik Tok dance and it was like a little party. I highly recommend Pep Boys and the Central Ave Location specifically.

Beware, beware, beware!!! $306 to install a serpentine belt. A $50 part that should take easily…read moreunder a half hour of shop time to install. They said their shop rate was $191 per hour .... so $306 ??? Called corporate to open a complaint inquiry and only response was the service manager from this location calling me back with BS talk. They also did not adjust the belt properly so it squeeked when starting, and, they did not tell me the power steering belt, right next to it was hard and about to come apart. A fair shop charged me $117 to install the power steering belt, part included, and to properly adjust the serpentine belt. Beware this is a shop that overcharges!!!
