Lied to my employee about what I said, and almost got him FIRED. These guys asked my employee when he could be off work one day, so he could come to their dealership and do a deal with them. My employee said, "On this day the earliest I can be off work is 2pm, but I might have to work after that as well." THIS DEALERSHIP SENT MY EMPLOYEE A TEXT THAT SAID, "I TALKED TO YOUR BOSS AND YOU CAN LEAVE AT 2PM TODAY!!" Of course they never talked to me. What kind of dealership talks to your boss for you? I wouldn't even accept a phone call from them let alone actually discuss my employee's time off with a total stranger. I got in touch with this dealership and they said "oh that message was for someone else". Really? Then whos boss did you talk to then, and the time just HAPPENED to be 2pm, the exact same time my employee told you? Definitely a lie. Then they told me that the message had not been sent by an employee, but BY THE ACTUAL OWNER OF THE COMPANY!!! So this behavior goes straight to the very top, this is how they do business. My employee is smarter than these guys, but if he had fallen for their lies and left work at 2pm because he believed I said it was okay, he could have been fired. Now he's got a new car payment and no job!! Awesome, that is the position they tried to put this man in. LIARS from the very top of the company all the way down, they don't care about you and they will even get you fired if they think it will sell a car for them! Total bait and switch dealership. They have a 2011 Honda Accord SE listed on countless websites, and I even called PRIOR to driving over an hour and it's funny how all of a sudden they thought I meant this Accord EX for over $17k when the SE was listed for $14,489. They had no knowledge of an SE being there even though searching just the VIN gives you 119 results on google and they acted as if that's the car I saw on autotrader. I also emailed them from autotrader asking if they had that specific car and they asked me when I could come down. I had a TERRIBLE experience here. I strongly advise you go elsewhere they are terrible. The staff will say anything to sell. I strongly believe their vehicles are NOT CERTIFIED. After purchasing my vehicle within two weeks my check engine light was on. I noticed the windshield was cracked. Car was not aligned and bumper was missing three screws. I hate doing this to any kind of business but hey I got a car not even a month ago. Anyways they do treat you alright I have been having some issues and concerns since I bought it . Took it to the place they "work with" and it passed inspection now tell me how does a car pass inspection in MA with bad tires and a bad e brake.? I brought it to their attention and it turns out that yeah I have to pay $100 just to get the e brake fixed but tires are ... " no they are good" anyways I have to pay them my down payment witch I sign to do them in installments but theres nothing they can do about my really bad tires or the e brake because it passed inspection in the place they sent me to . Like I said they do treat you right but don't do like me and get it inspected in another place they don't tell you to so they have to deal with your issues its worth paying the $30 i would never get another car trough them from my experience read more

Terrible experience. Found a car that I wanted to buy and put a deposit down on sight. Unfortunately this was a 2hr drive for me; but for the right car it didn't matter. When trying to work with Ryan on getting as much done online (paperwork, negotiating, etc) to minimize the back and forth drive, it was like pulling teeth. Especially with Coronavirus you would think that these things could be established, because every other dealer is offering services as such. After a week of back and forth, and trying to reach the service manager he claimed that he was able to negotiate over the phone, but assured me the best deal would be in person. After submitting my offer, he countered with a price 2 THOUSAND OVER ASKING. Explaining how since the car has been there so long that that is the price they own it for... which doesn't matter to me. Frustrated, I took the two hour drive out to sign the paperwork necessary to find the car with new dings and 2,000 MORE MILES than when I test drove and put a deposit on the car... As I was rightfully upset and tried to bring this to the attention of the older salesman there, he claimed that I must have misread the odometer because no one had been driving the car. This was completely and utterly false. He argued with me for 10 minutes that no one had driven the car before I gave up and asked for my deposit back. He informed me that no one was in the office to handle money so I would have to wait until Monday. I tried to get ahold of Ryan, the salesperson I originally dealt with to no avail. The worst part of it was I really did want the car. But they made it damn near impossible for me to buy it; and even before this extra mileage fiasco I was steered away by their attitudes but figured it would be worth it in the end for the car. My wife and I drove two hours today to look at an Audi Q7 that was listed on their website and Cars.com for $26,480. We confirmed that the car was available the night before and let them know that we were coming. When we got there we test drove the car.l which had 2,000+ more miles than advertised, was full of dog hair and had hanging air fresheners throughout. The car looked good on the outside and drove fine. When we returned to the showroom, the salesman told us that the price had gone up because we were going to pay cash. Because were weren't financing the entire price, the new price was $27,900!! Mind you that the Kelly Blue Book value is $23,500. As it turns out, the owner of the dealer has been using this car for at least a year as his personal car and he has three labs (we met them at the dealership). After explaining that we weren't interested anymore, the manager calls me to his office to see if there could be a deal and I offered to pay him $26,000 for the car and her said we were just too far apart on a deal. On his wall was the sales goals for his three salesmen and I can tell you that they hadn't ever scratched the surface for this month. I guess they are too eager to sell this cars. Make customers to sing papers while they were making her you as customer believe that isjust for the 500$ that they said it was refundable and then they will said that you can't stop the deal when she doesn't even have the car yet. Worst experience. I've been looking to purchase a car for quite some time so I was traveling down this location and decided to stop in. Immediately I was greeted and asked a million questions, soon enough I was seated at a desk with a guy named Joe. He seemed eager to get a sale. He kept asking me to go to the bank and throw down the money I have now and borrow money from my parents and who ever I could ( I explained to him I was just looking since I wanted to go to other places too) he wouldn't take no for an answer. I finally got annoyed and told him to be real with me, human to human not car salesman talk. Give me real advice. But he continued to pressure me. I finally left its been a month since I have been there and every day or two I am constantly receiving calls from joe and now another employee as well pressuring me into things. This is harassment. I told them I wasn't interested and they call me nonstop especially when I am at work. This is not acceptable. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone, nor go back to this place. read more

DO NOT buy from Thrifty Car Sales in Springfield MA!! The sales people have no idea what they are doing, the finance deparment will tell you any lie to get you to sign the paper work, and management dishonest as well. I think that my purchase from this dealership was the by far the biggest mistake that I have ever made. We had to wait for almost a month to pick up our vehicle after the paperwork was signed becuase we lived out of state. So here we are really less then two months with the vehicle and it is having all kinds of problems and they will not cover it under warrenty. This dealer is dishonest. When we went to pick up the car we had purchased, they did not have a second remote key, could not make the navigation system work, and did not have the registration ready. The dealer made many promises - he would find the second key, get us the registration that day, and come to us to get the navigation system working. After we left, we received no calls, the dealer finally got us the registration after we called a day later, and then ignored a week's worth of messages (we live 30 miles from dealer) about the key. Finally someone answered the phone and we were told gruffly that they didn't have a second key and wouldn't pay for one ($300 - none of this was mentioned at time of purchase). No word on the navigation system. Buyer beware - once they have your money, they're gone and take no responsibility for promises made. read more

I bought a 2015 Chrysler 200 from them 6 months ago and it has broken down twice already, this last time I was told by the dealership I took it too that the part that needs repair most likely was damaged in an accident the vehicle was in which would have had to have been prior to me purchasing the vehicle, though there is no record of this vehicle being in an accident. I lost my job because this vehicle is unsafe to drive and spent more time broken down in my driveway than on the road, and the cost of repairing the vehicle this time would be $1,000. When purchasing the vehicle they told me this was the only vehicle I could get financed for, in my personal opinion I would not recommend this place, as I went there looking for a vehicle with no credit and now because I lost my job due to transportation I will now have poor credit. read more

On 3/8/18 when to Thrifty car sales. At 1st it seemed like a nice place. They had the vehicle I was looking for. When through the credit application with Karl. That day I was told that my interest rate was 12.99%. After a week later I called the bank and they told me the interest was 16.99%. I was also told when the bank calls me to lie and tell the bank the car was fully loaded. Which the car was not! After 2 weeks of turning in paper works and talking with the bank. I chose to back out of the loan with Thrifty's. But on the 8th I paid $100 down as a deposit. I was told that day if things didn't work out that I would get the money back. And I would not get it back in cash even though that it was how I paid but they would mail me a check to my home address. Which I was okay with. Today 4/4/18 i when back in to their establishment. Wondering why I have not gotten the funds. I was told by Karl that he never said that and he couldn't make that decision. Then i talked to John or Jon however he spells it. He asked me if I fill out the credit application and signed document stating that I was wanting to purchase a car. I told him yes and he said my deposit was non-refundable. They could not show me documentation showing where I sign that my deposit was non-refundable and then called me a lair multiple times to my face. I wonder how many times they have done this to other people and how rude they were to treat a customer like that. It should have been my right to back out of a loan and not have to lose my $100 deposit because I did not go into the loan with that bank. If I was anybody out there I would not go to Thrifty Car Sales at all on Boston Road they seem to be really nice but they are snakes in grass. I am going to be contacting the local news about this. Because it being $100 yes it's not much but it's the principle. Because who would want to go to court over $100 when paying a lawyer's more. STAY AWAY!!! This is literally the dealership your parents told you to stay away from. First off they lied to me about a car (2014 Subaru wrx) to get me to drive from NEW JERSEY all the way to Massachusetts. In case you were wondering that's a three hour drive both ways. It was all going great until i caught them laughing in the back room about how they were going to rip me off. The "manager" came out and offered me four thousand below what every other dealer had offered me for my trade in. Then after i made my initial offer he smiled and shook my hand only to say "Sorry cant do it have a nice day" right when i thought i bought my first Subaru he pulled that shit. We kept talking numbers and the numbers they quoted me over the phone were WAY off the numbers they wanted at the store. After him treating me like i was an idiot kid and i would accept any offer he threw on the table i got up to walk out. He then said well its fine if we cant make a deal now you wouldn't have been able to take the car home tonight anyway.
