Excellent service and excellent choice for smog check... Walk in only, accepted me at 430 for a 2000 or newer vehicle when they close at 5... Super friendly... Witnessed them offering honest advice to other customer that didn't pass smog.

Friendly staff, fast service. Drove up to the shop and a gentleman greeted me and pulled my car in right away. Will come here to get my smog done from now on. They have a small but cozy sitting area with lots of magazines to read while you wait.

Rolled up at 8:30 on a Saturday morning and drove right in. No joke, I was out in 5 minutes. I'll be back.

    Clovis Auto Shop

    (192 reviews)

Dear potential Clovis Auto Shop customers,…read more I want to share my experience with one of the last truly honest auto shops in the greater Fresno/Clovis area. I live in Clovis, CA, and work as a traveling sales executive, which means my vehicle is essential to my job. I put a lot of miles on my cars and regularly rely on auto shops for both routine maintenance and repairs. That's why I feel confident recommending Clovis Auto Shop. They are an outstanding group of people--friendly, courteous, and straightforward in their communication. I've worked with Manuel, Raul, and the owner, Ron, and every interaction has been positive. Whether it's basic services like oil changes or more advanced work such as engine or transmission repairs, they consistently deliver high-quality service. What truly sets them apart, however, is their honesty and integrity. On several occasions, they have gone above and beyond in ways that many shops simply wouldn't. For example, I recently brought in my Ford Expedition because it wouldn't start. Initially, the issue was misdiagnosed, and an expensive engine procedure was performed. Once they realized the mistake, they immediately informed me and did not charge me for the unnecessary work. My bill dropped from nearly $1,000 to about $264. That level of honesty is rare--they could have easily charged me, and I would never have known. In the end, they correctly fixed the issue, and my car has been running perfectly. Another instance happened a few years ago with a different vehicle. Clovis Auto Shop installed a Jasper rebuilt engine with a 4-year/40,000-mile warranty. The engine failed early in the fourth year, even though the mileage was still low. Both the shop and I felt this was unusually premature. Instead of leaving me to deal with it on my own, they advocated on my behalf with Jasper and secured a very favorable deal on a replacement engine. They could have simply said "tough luck," but they didn't. Experiences like these are why I consider Clovis Auto Shop to be one of the most honest and reliable shops around. I recommend them without hesitation. For full transparency, I have no family or friends who own or work at the shop--I'm simply a loyal customer who appreciates great service. Thank you. I was quoted approximately $1,300 for parts and labor. However, after contacting the dealership, I learned the part cost around $450, while my receipt from Ernie Perez showed a charge of $753 for the part. When I questioned this discrepancy, the response given was, "we have to pay the bill somehow," which I found unprofessional. This matter is not about money but about principles. Due to these unprofessional comments, I will no longer bring my vehicles here for service. I saw a used 2025 Jeep Rubicon X advertised for sale at an unusually low price. Very low mileage…read more As I was in the market for a replacement X I contacted a Sales Assistant who told me the vehicle had been well maintained and had no accidents. She sent me the Carfax which showed no maintenance in the past 1 year even though the odometer was just under 5,000 miles. At the least an oil change should have been done. The photos of the interior and exterior appeared to indicate the vehicles was in very good condition. However, I noticed the winch had been used and the winch rope was extended and tied off to the front hook. I also noticed the electronic winch cord was wrapped around the winch, a sloppy and unusual storage method for an electric winch controller. I suspected the winch had been used and wasn't fully retracted properly. Whether it was in good working was unknown. I reviewed the Carfax report and noticed unusual activity AFTER Toyota of Clovis purchased the vehicle including an "emissions system inspection" and a smog, which it passed. VERY unusual for a 1 year old vehicle with less than 5,000 miles. When I questioned the associate she said they check and service all used vehicles before being offered for sale. I questioned why they had NOT serviced the vehicle (oil change, etc) at 1 year but had instead smogged it and inspected the emissions. She had no answers. I suspected hidden undercarriage damage and requested photos. She agreed and provided them. I received 2 photos of the undercarriage with clearly visible scratches and a possibly bent support attachment for an armor plate. It was difficult to determine the precise damage from the 2 photos. I suspected the muffler, catalytic converter and possibly other portions of the exhaust system were damaged while the former owner was offroading. Clearly the Toyota dealer had done some repairs. I requested the repair work orders and parts receipts. I was told they would be sent. They never provided them. Several people from the dealership sent me emails and each time I confirmed I was awaiting the repair orders. Suddenly they ceased contacting me. Clearly they knew there was undercarriage damage which Toyota of Clovis had repaired. The damage was significant enough to require a smog test. However, they attempted to deceive me and YOU by citing a clear Carfax and going silent regarding the repairs. If this doesn't deter you from ever purchasing either a new or used vehicle you should have your head examined.
