I'm always greeted warmly when I enter the doors. Service always starts with Worship team and they are excellent. Pastor Reginald Devaugn is the senior pastor there. And I always get alot of encouragement and Bible focused messaging. He is a hands on and practical pastor that speaks from his lived experience of being human just like his parishioners. He is deep in the community, and makes a point to bring up community and civic engagement in and around the city of Houston and even beyond. Church service times are 8am and 10am on Sundays. They also live stream online from there website and YT. They have activities throughout the week. And a children's academy for school. The service itself is about 1.5 hours. The people that attend are a mix of young families, and couples, and young people, but also older folks. After service you can enjoy there coffee shop that sells a large selection of hot & cold drinks, along with snacks/pastries/breakfast items.

Pastor Reginald DeVaughn Sr always gives a Bible-based ( typically NIV version for easier modern-day understanding) and impactful message relevant to real life and current events. Local politicians and other notable local figures often stop by. Great service time options: 8:00AM and 10:00AM. The children's ministries are wonderful. The kiddos are so talented. It's such a blessing watching the youth perform on All Family Sundays. It can get a little too loud so I keep a pair of ear plugs with me. Not a big deal for me but many will appreciate the offering always comes last and the pastor barely mentions it. Love this church and happy it is near my home. It's wonderful attending with my fellow Yelper when our schedules align. Pastor DeVaughn truly seems to care about his congregation and ensuring everyone is covered in Jesus name. I appreciate how he's a steadfast champion of the progression and equality of Black Pearland and minorities. Silverlake Church is such a blessing to the Pearland community.

I have attended Revolution Church for a bit over three years now. I attended many churches…read moresearching for a bible based, truthful, gospel sharing church for about a year when I finally just googled churches that were near me. Revolution showed up and I went. At first, I was a bit surprised that it was inside a bounce house (Lone Star Bounce Town) but after I met the friendly people and heard the sermon, I was enthralled. I decided to come back the next Sunday to make sure it wasn't a fluke (LOL) and I was relieved to find myself thinking: "finally! A good church with friendly people and great preaching!" I decided to make Revolution my home church that day. I had never heard the gospel presented the way Gary Milbourne, the pastor, taught it. What I love about this church: You learn practical ways to apply God's Word to your everyday life. I learn something every Sunday. You can actually connect in a meaningfulI way with others; for me this is all through Life Groups. There are typically about 4-5 Life Groups meeting a week in Pearland, Texas City, and Friendswood. Life groups meet weekly, have dinner together and a time of discussion. You really get to "Do Life" with others and learn. Lastly, I love serving and was looking for another way to get connected to my community. There were many opportunities to help out. I currently help with Sunday breakfast - that's right! We have a free breakfast every Sunday morning and have for years. Breakfast start at 0830, Bible class at 0900 and service starts at 1000-ish. (sometimes we get into really good discussions in bible class) What kind of people should come: Everyone! Seriously. We have the best of the human race here: male, female, singles, married couples (young and seasoned), divorced? Come on over and find others just like you. Hurting? Come learn how to heal. Questioning or just not sure about your thoughts on Church, God, "living right", religion, or anything else: great! We love questions and discussion. There are answers...just come and ask your questions. It's an open and accepting environment. We are not a "white" church, LOL, we have so many different races of grandparents, parents, single parents, adoptive and foster parents, babies, toddlers, children, and teens...you should come and check it out for yourself. I can't wait to meet you! Important side notes: -we are a rather casually dressed group so no need for fancy duds unless that's just how you like to dress. Come as you are. Jeans and shorts are welcome. Dresses and ties, too though you may get asked if you're going somewhere nice afterwards, Hahahaha. -there is childcare for babies, toddlers, children and teens. -Breakfast starts 0830. Come by and have some with us! - prepare to be have a good time. The preaching is awesome (!!! Really !!!) and the people are great, friendly. The bouncers are blown up after service so the kiddos can literally bounce around with each other.

Nonetheless, we started watching Crosspoint's services while we lived in Midland, TX since we knew we would be moving to Houston and wanted to find a new church that was similar to the one we attended in Midland. We were looking for a modern, nondenominational church with an excellent children's ministry, great band/music and welcoming atmosphere. Crosspoint church nailed it on all accounts! Everyone here is so friendly. Pastor Tom delivers a great message every Sunday. The band plays modern Christian songs which we love singing along to... it's like a rock concert every time we go! The kids program is amazing and our children love coming here! The children's check in/out system is good so we feel safe leaving our kids while we worship. The cafe is a nice aspect so you can grab a cup of coffee (and/or a donut). Small groups are urged as this church is on the "bigger side." We haven't yet joined a small group but plan to in the future. The only negative is that it is about a 25 minute drive for us. We love coming to Crosspoint so we'll still make the commute. One last suggestion: our last church had a marriage ministry. Every Tuesday night there was a marriage night where various topics were discussed and then couples would break off into small groups to further discuss what was just taught. It was amazing for strengthening our marriage. We would love to see a program like that started at Crosspoint church!
