Bought my brand new 2019 from Christine at Thunder Mountain. Couldn't have been a better experience. Highly recommend.

As far as we are concerned, there is no reason to go to any other dealer, regardless of where you are in the country. Let me explain... We bought our bike there last year and the "experience" at Thunder Mountain stands as one of the best consumer experiences in our lives....on all fronts. Rey in Sales was awesome, helpful, knowledgeable and gave me his cell phone number, never hesitating to answer questions any time of the day or night - even to this day, long past the sale. Mike in the Parts department is great as well...knows the Harley parts and aftermarket options inside and out. He spent time with us going over different options and was able to get a feel for what we wanted to do with the bike and make perfect recommendations. Tina in retail is as cool as they come...she spent the time to get to know us and now Jacki and her are like long lost sisters. The guys in finance, the service guys, the quality of the experience and their service set a bar so high that now, having moved from Colorado to Texas, none of the dealers in a 75 mile radius can match them. Moving away from Thunder Mountain ended up in our "negative" column around the move, but we still call there to order our parts, call in our orders from the retail side and go by whenever we are back in CO. And next year, when it's time to add to the stable, I'll call Rey and Mike, and we'll figure it all out, then we'll ship the bike to wherever we are - unless we are lucky enough to be back in CO and close to our Thunder Mountain home. I've been in a lot of HD dealerships - more than I care to count in Texas at this point, and none come close to Thunder Mountain....I'm not saying they aren't decent in some way or another, but they aren't Thunder Mountain and don't deliver the complete experience or strive to ensure you are comfortable, satisfied and truly part of the community. read more

The people that work here are the most off putting part of the store. They have great merchandise, but the service is non-existent. Acting as if they're doing you a favor if you even ask for help. Calling this location is a joke as well. The woman answering the phone will treat you like you just interrupted her Netflix binge and have therefore ruined her life. The customer service is such a hit or miss (and a majority of times a miss) that I would not go back. read more

I have bought 5 bikes at this dealership. I was for the most part happy with the service. I paid off one of my bikes and go to find out, the dealership was at fault for a vin error on the title. I called and talked with several managers in this issue and I could not recive help in any way from any body there. They had 2 of the numbers backwards in the title and since it is the responsesbuilty of the dealer for a clean correct title, they should have been willing to correct the issue.. They do not care about the customer in anyway.. They are the worst most useless dealer I have ever been to. The worst thing. They tried to put the blame for their error I the DMV. They had nothing to do with and I proved they wrote the vin down wrong.. If you go here do not expect good helpful service. Go to a different dealer. That's good advice.. read more

They have a great selection of new and used Harley Davidson motorcycles. They also have a very large clothing and accessory department. All the same people over dealt with there were great. There's even a dyno in the service area! It had been about 8 years since I've ridden so I took the motorcycle class they offer. It was a fantastic class. I've got about a cafe of riding experience and still learned a lot. read more

**ATTENTION SERVICE DEPT.** I rode from Phoenix, AZ to Sturgis, SD for the 75th. That's 1400 miles one way. I rode almost another 700 while there. On my way home, I stopped at your Service Dept. and asked to have my TriGlide rear tire pressure checked before heading the long way through the Rockies. I was given a tire pressure gauge and a hand pump (for shocks) and was told that service couldn't do it. I checked the pressure and it was low. I asked again if they could put air in the tires. I was told to go to the Shell station on the other side of the freeway if I needed to put air in my tires. WTF? Really? I spent 35K on a new Trike and I can't get air in my tires? So, didn't bother buying anything from your dealership. I don't plan on returning either if that's how you treat your visitors. The only reason I give you 2 stars is because it appears on the surface to be a huge dealership that would have just about anything you need as long as it isn't air for your tires. ***UPDATE*** Thank you Justin L. The buying process was quick and easy, my sales guy Aaron was great to work with and gave us his personal number and quickly answered any questions I had long after the sale, Mike in parts is awesome and really knows his sh!t... I have to admit, the crew they had a few years ago was horrible and I ended up going elsewhere, but now it's a warm and friendly atmosphere and they have a great bunch of guys and gals that love what they do... read more

Make sure you get what is promised to you beforehand, they will tell you it is no problem to get something done that was part of the deal, once the deal is done and hands are shaken, they forget who you are and tell you to come back later. Not impressed. Had a motorcycle delivered near TMHD last week. It's an out-of-state bike so a VIN Verification was required. Since we were right there at the dealership we walked into the service dept. and asked if they could do it, and offered to pay whatever their standard fee is. TMHD's response was "NO, we WON'T do it because it's not a Harley". Okay, whatever. Called another local motorcycle shop and their immediate response was "no problem, bring it on by". Got it done by them in 5 minutes with no issues over what brand of bike it was. read more

I would stay away from this service department at this dealership. I've not had a good experience with them in the service department now for a third time. They apparently don't like customer's who have purchased their Harley Davidson motorcycles from other dealerships. I recently relocated last year to Colorado from Northern California. I have 2 baggers. My $30,000.00 plus, at the time with dealer prep and taxes 2016 Road Glide Ultra had a factory recall for a clutch issue. The bike will only start in neutral and not in gear with the clutch level pulled in. The work was not able to be preformed before I moved back to Loveland due to having a full knee replacement and not having the ability to get the motorcycle to the California dealership before I moved. I even had the recall number from my dealership in California. So my first experience with the service department at Thunder Mountain was to schedule what I thought was "warranty work" on my 2016 Road Glide. I was informed by the service department it was not covered even though I had the number from my old dealership. They informed me the service would be $149.00 or there about. I scheduled an appointment, and then called back and cancelled the appointment the following day. I figured I'd just put up with starting it in neutral. Not that big of a deal. The second experience with the service department was at the beginning of the HOG Ride 365 program. When I went out to have the milage check required to participate in the program, they were put out by having to take the milage and enter me into the system. My third and final experience was today with Mark in service. I had called the dealership on Tuesday August 4th ( I checked my phone log) to schedule service for both my bikes. I knew I would be riding up to Sturgis and when I returned, my Road Glide would need a 15k checkup. I also knew how busy they would be, because it would be Sturgis Week, so I wanted to make an appointment far enough out for both reasons. So I called and made two different appointments on August 4th with Mark in service. The first one was for a simple oil and filter change in my 2001 Road King Classic. I told Mark that although I'd only put about 1000 miles on it since the last oil change, that it sits mostly and it had been five years since it was last done. The service was scheduled by Mark for Wednesday August 19th. We then scheduled the 15k checkup for the Road Glide on Thursday August 20th so I could switch motorcycles. At the end of the conversation I even answered for Mark the common question for oil changes on HD Motorcycles, Chrome or Black oil filter? One of each please. So I called today to check on something and after a short conversation with Mark I found out I had never been scheduled for either appointment. He said I was not I the system and didn't remember me. My wife decided to call out and see if maybe they made a mistake, however; after only a short and quite heated discussion with Mark in service she realized it's not worth the effort. He is a rude, mean and just plane unprofessional man and should not be in a customer relation position. The motorcycles we purchase are not inexpensive. I do not expect any special treatment and didn't ask for any, but I do expect a Harley Davidson Dealership to operate with a certain amount of professionalism, this service department does not know the meaning to the word. My initial contact with this dealership was good. Bought my bike in late 2018 with the premium service package deal that came with a free set of tires and all the regular maintenance for my bike for years to come. But that's not what I got, what I got was them charging for my service despite the package I bought. What I got was a rear tire put on my bike and a front tire put on order May of 2022. What I got was me calling months later wondering where my tire was and them showing that it shipped...and??? Did it get lost? No answer. Okay, well just reorder it then I guess... Now it's October, I've missed going on rides because, well, I don't want to die in a horrible accident because of the front tire. And now they won't answer the phone when I call, won't return my messages I leave, and have pretty much let me know that they don't give a d@mm about me. DO NOT buy from this dealership, they DO NOT care about their customers past selling you a bike and will rip you off the first chance they get! read more

Terrible experience with the riding academy. Would not recommend taking the beginners course if you are a new rider. The bikes were too big and difficult to maneuver, had an instructor who was incredibly inpatient and condescending. When I expressed my dissatisfaction and asked for a refund (of which they said they would give if the bikes were too much), I received an even worse email response questioning my "dedication" to the goal of learning to ride. I have never been treated with such disrespect in customer service ever. Would highly recommend taking a beginners class elsewhere! read more

I bought my bike from thunder mountain almost 3 years ago they are still a great dealership to work with remember me when I stop by. What a great place to have near by! Weekend event are fun and there's always something to do! The lady's night garage party's are a great way to get to know bikes for new lady riders! My Wife and I will be buying a new Heritage softail (for her) in the very near future. We do not live in the Lovland area, looked on line at there selection. Three available in the color she likes. We clicked on the get price option. Filled out the contact information and recieved a call from Christine. I explained we are in the market for a new bike and wanted to know how much one on thier showroom floor cost. As anyone would expect when you click the "get price" button. Because we are not buying immediately Christine would not tell me the price. She gave me the price range of low to mid 20's but becase I would not commit to coming in Christine stated. "Those bike on the the floor would be sold by the time we are ready to purchase and it would not matter what they are listed at." We will not spend our money at Thunder mountain, based of the lack of information on the website and the poor customer service over the phone. read more

Awesome people look over your bike well while doing service work. They found a soft brake problem called me for repair ok. Fantastic. I had to .pick my bike up on my days off which are not the days service is open . Colin helped me out got my bike out on my way back to Wyoming. Very good service. I tried to get work done in Casper but was let down. It was another 100 miles further but worth it. The people at Thunder Rock. Always come back no other place for me. I've purchased three bikes from TM in the last 6 years to the tune of over $60,000 including accessories. I never had any problems until the last bike, a new 2015 Road King. I had to bring it back three times because i kept finding oil under my bike. Twice they said they could find no oil. When I brought it in the third time i had to show the service guy the oil on my hand, swiped from under the bike. Turns out that the clutch cable had a hole in it. It shouldn't have taken three times and for me to discover and spell out for them what the problem was, before it was fixed. While this was going on, the bike was also backfiring and even stalled out at intersections. I was told that backfiring was 'normal'. Right, sure it is. Because I know its NOT normal, I kept on telling them about it. (Every time I brought it in for something, I would tell them about it). Once, they blamed the backfiring on the post market pipes I bought AT TM. Another time, they blamed the Screamin' Eagle cone filter. Talk about throwing Screamin' Eagle under the bus... Another time I brought the bike in because the throttle was sticking. Naturally they couldn't find anything, but they tried to charge me for the time the spent on it. To me, that's just rewarding incompetence. I just paid $300 to get it dyno'd at a different Harley dealership and I've gained 9.5 horse power (a remarkable difference). At least its running right now. In addition, they are TERRIBLE at returning phone calls. After all my experiences with the Service Department, I called the GM twice; he never returned my phone call. Sure its great to close a deal and send a happy customer down the road; that's easy. But reputations are earned on how you treat the customer after the sale and these guys made me dread going in there, as though I was the problem. Bottom line, I (and anyone in my family) will never buy another motorcycle from Thunder Mountain. Too bad, because the sales department is very professional, but service sucks. My experience with Thunder Mountain Harley-Davidson is one I wish I could forget. I purchased a brand-new bike and when I return to pick it up the fuel tank had very little gas in the bike had not been cleaned. I return later with the bike to have the mufflers and air cleaner that I purchased with the bike installed. A stage one download was also required when using the new mufflers and air cleaner. The service department called me on Saturday to let me know that my bike was done. I was unable to pick up the bike on Saturday so we made arrangements for me to pick the bike up on Sunday. When I returned on Sunday to pick up the bike the engine would not start. I finally got the engine to start and then it would not idle and it kept backfiring. I left the bike there with a note explaining the problems that I was having. I waited on Tuesday for a call from the service department that never came. It was about 3 o'clock in the afternoon when I called to find out what was going on with my bike. The service department did not know what was wrong with the bike but assured me that it was running fine on Saturday. After a couple days they decided that the start stop switch had failed while the bike was there. They were sure that the problem had nothing to do with the work that was done. After replacing the start stop switch the problem was still present. Later I learned that while replacing the start stop switch they did not put all the parts back in that they had taken out. I explained the problem to some friends I have who are also Harley-Davidson mechanics and was told that the problem had to do with the stage one download. I told the service department that I thought the software that was installed was corrupt and causing the problem. Again they were sure that the problem had nothing to do with what they did. They were sure that it was just a coincidence and that the bike broke on its own sometime in between Saturday and Sunday. Naturally I was surprised a few days later when they told me they thought that the computer was damaged and needed to be replaced. Again they were sure that it had nothing to do with the work that was done. At this point I was wondering that if the bike was not new and under warranty would I be the one having to pay for this? Either way the computer was replaced under warranty and the bike ran fine after that. So I picked up the bike and rode home with no problems. When I got home I noticed that the muffler heatshield had not been installed correctly and was scratching the new muffler. I also noticed that the front valve cover was scratched. When I called Thunder Mountain I was told that they would have the muffler repainted and the valve cover replaced. I told them that I wanted both mufflers repainted so they would match. When I picked the bike up I quickly noticed that the two mufflers no longer matched. I also noticed that the front valve cover did not have the correct finish as if it had been buffed rather than replaced. I confronted them about the valve cover and also pointed out that there were tool marks on the valve cover from the wrench that was used to install it. I was told that they would repaint both mufflers and that the valve cover that was installed was not the correct valve cover. This is when I realized these people look you straight in the eye and lie to you. I waited for the new valve cover to get in then I returned the bike for service. After the service was complete I looked the bike over very carefully. I was happy with the work that was performed so I brought the bike outside. When I brought the bike outside I noticed that there was not a drop of fuel in the tank. The service advisor told me that it had the same amount of fuel that it had when I brought it there. I knew that this was not true because when I brought the bike and I made sure it only had half a tank of fuel. I knew the fuel tank was going to have to be removed to replace the valve cover. Again I felt like I was lied to. The service advisor took the bike into the back and put fuel in it he brought it back with exactly half a tank of fuel. Take my advice and never bring your bike to this place for service. The thing that I am most upset about is that I really used to like this dealership. The reason I purchased my motorcycle from here is because I enjoyed coming here and visiting with the staff and looking at the merchandise. It's a shame that they do business this way. Was in Boulder for business and drove up to Loveland for some souvenir t-shirts for my hubby. Claire was very helpful with choosing from all of the cool designs. When I returned home, all of the t-shirts were too small. I contacted them and they requested that I send them picture so they could make sure they had the same designs in a larger size. All were available except for one and Suzelle sent a picture of a comparable design. I have now shipped everything back and am awaiting for them to be returned. This is my second time in this shop and have always been pleased with their superior service. Shout out to Claire and Suzelle. read more

I just completed the Basic/New Rider Course offered here at Thunder Mountain Harley Davidson and had a great time! The riding coach Amanda, was Absolutely SUPER! She took the time to make sure everyone was comfortable with an exercise before moving on to the next. At the end of the 3-day course, we had a graduation celebration with the staff and any customers that were lucky enough to be there. I cant wait to experience more of the Harley culture with my new family and friends at Thunder Mountain. If your on the fence about starting to ride, I highly recommend taking the course; I GUARANTEE YOU WILL BE HOOKED!!! read more

I have a Thunder Mountain Blackhawk 240 that needed a new rear belt pulley. As the bike was manufactured here at Thunder Mountain Harley and the fact that I have had them put on a custom Vance & Hines exhaust and race tuner plus numerous tires and services over the years that they would be the logical choice for this work. When I called and spoke to the woman in the service department I clearly explained that the work I wanted and needed done was to have the rear drive pulley and belt replaced. Once that work was complete, do the 20,000 mile service so that it would be ready to ride for the summer. We scheduled the appointment and they picked my bike up about a week later. These people did the full service, $851.14, and then informed me that they would not work on the rear drive pulley! When I went to pick up the bike, she then informed me that I would need to count the teeth and pull the wheel myself, or have another shop do it, to get the tooth count and necessary offsets, order the parts, and have another shop do it. They would not work on their own bike! What kind of service department accepts the bike with full knowledge up front of the make and model, the repairs required, then does everything but the initially requested repairs and has the audacity to then charge the customer $851 and push them out the door telling me it is my problem. They should have made me aware they wouldn't do the work during the initial call if they are unwilling to work on their own manufactured bikes, and certainly before they went ahead with the rest of the work! This would be like taking your vehicle in for transmission repair and going to pick it up and they've changed the oil, replaced the brakes and tires, done a full service, but not fixed the initial problem and demanding payment when the vehicle remains undriveable and practically worthless! I spoke with their customer service on multiple occasions and was told several times that a manager would call me back. This was in May and I have never received a call to explain their position. So here I am, almost through the summer, still out my $851 and a bike that I cannot ride. DO NOT USE THUNDER MOUNTAIN HARLEY! They clearly knew they were not going to do the work requested, yet took my bike, charged their normal exorbitant fees for services not required if the pulley was not replaced, and ultimately did not do the work requested. Their customer service is clearly awful as I have not received even a single promised return call or email. DO BUSINESS WITH THUNDER MOUNTAIN AT YOUR OWN RISK! read more

We were traveling across country and my boyfriend and I stopped in. No one ever approached us or offered to help in anyway. Finally my boyfriend had to seek out an employee for assistance. A number of weeks ago I came in to Thunder Mountain to get some supplies for my yearly service. I picked up all the fluids I needed and my filter while the parts tech got my new brake pads. Once he came back I came walking back to the counter, the tech told me I had one of the bottles of fluid wrong. He took it out of my arms and swapped it with a seemingly similar bottle of amsoil. I paid my ticket, grabbed everything in the large bag he had gave me and headed for my buddies house where I would do my servicing. Changed my engine oil no problem, then began draining out my case oil. When I read the final bottle I realized the tech had swapped out my final bottle of oil for transmission fluid. It was 6:15p, they were now closed, and I had no transportation. After a series of events and some time, someone who saw me was nice enough to bring me to an auto zone where I managed to find some sufficient fluid. Fast forward to the next day, I went to see the parts department. The tech there was different than the evening before. I explained my situation and he said he couldn't do anything for me. As soon as I mentioned reviewing my experience, he said he would go get his manager. The manager was pretty awesome, and apologetic. He offered me 20 percent off of tires and gave me a branded soft cooler for free. He then asked me to install the tires there as what seemed like a shot at redemption. I thanked him and agreed. A week later I came in and spent $500 on new tires which came in two weeks later. A few days after that, I had a scheduled day to swap tires there. I got my bike in the night before as planned with the service tech. Halfway through the day he called to tell me that they had ordered the wrong tires. He then told me he would overnight me the new ones and get them in the next day. It put me out of some riding while I had family in town, I was a little annoyed but I let it go. Today, he called me and let me know that the tires were in and they would be installed in an hour or so. I had it worked out for someone else to get the key to my bike so I could get it that evening when I got off work. He called me an hour or two later to let me know that the service was complete and the bike was being brought outside. He then told me the bill was $320 dollars. I laughed. A lot. I then asked him why so much and he said it is "a lot of work" to mount and balance tires. I told him that was fine, even though I was very aware it should not have been more than an hours work. He also reminded me that they paid $200 dollars to overnight my tires like it was my fault that they didn't order the correct tires. I said I'll pay my bill and would not be giving them "a lot of work" ever again. At this point the service tech sounded very indignant. We finished up my payment and hung up. My girlfriend then went to Harley to get the key. The tech told her he would be bringing the bike out himself and to go ahead and take the key. She agreed, took the key, and left. Tonight I went to get the bike... and it was not put outside! I really don't see why any company would be okay with their service tech wasting the time of a customer. As far as I am concerned the tech left the bike inside as a little extra cherry on top. I wouldn't recommend this dealer to anyone. I was in there looking at buying my next Harley over the next few months. Looks like someone else will be getting that business. read more

Called a week ahead and scheduled to drop my bike off on a Monday. Was waiting for a call back so I called back on Wednesday. Never heard so I drove from Wyoming to Colorado and met with the guy that was frankly not friendly and kind of a pain in the balls.. treated me as a imposition and Went on to tell me that my frame was bent because the washer on my highway bar was bent. Yeah genius that's cuz I wiped out at 25 mph.how do I know?because I was there. Tatted up staff thinking they are tuff and acting gangster don't cut it. Service salesman masquerading as techs don't impress me either. Was going to leave the bike there for some collision repairs but really between their lack of friendliness and knowledge- no way I'm leaving my bike there. I'm going to pick it up 9 AM in the morning. Y'all have in your mission statement that "my schedule is your schedule" that is not what I heard from your service department on three different occasions. It is clear that I am a backseat and less I'm there to buy a new bike. I'm gonna come get my bike in the morning and don't worry you'll never see it again. I cannot give this dealership a low enough star rating. I waited for over 1 year before I posted this review, expecting a call back from the dealer on my complaints. I left multiple messages with staff answering the phones and voicemails for management, none were returned. They did, however, put me on a robocall list trying to get me to come in for special events and give them more of my money. I made a used buy here during fall, 2016. Every bad stereotype you hear about happening at a dealership happened. First of all the sales staff was rude and inattentive. I did come during a major event at the dealership, but nobody acknowledged how busy they were, nor did they attempt to hurry things along when they realized I was a paying customer. In fact, the sales person treated my wife like she was a complete moron, until they realized she was a rider and may be interested in trading up as well. The disrespect was astounding. The sales staff refused to listen to any of the hard lines I gave them. There were several points during which I said , "I'm not using a negotiating tactic, this is the final price I will pay. If it will not work, that is fine, but don't come back to me with a higher price." I had to do this many times before they met my price. I understand they need to make money, but, if my offer was too low, they should have come out with that in the beginning. Once we agreed on a price, they said no test rides. I would be walking out if I didn't test, and after several minutes of arguing, they finally agreed if they ran a credit check prior to test riding. That's reasonable, but their opening statement should never be, "We're too busy to allow test rides today." Once the deal was finally done, I was ready to take off. Finally, ready for my new ride. Not so fast, though - the dealership had forgotten to do the mandated DOT inspection prior to selling me the bike, and would need to do that first. I am willing to understand that, as long as they take care of this promptly. Of course, they should have done this early in case anything was found that needed fixing, but taking care of it quickly should have happend. It didn't. I sat for 3 hours, asking for the status every 15 minutes, while they did this. They mechanincs were busy working with the demo bikes for the event, so of course (sarcasm), they have no time for a customer that just spent many thousands of dollars on a bike. It was already sold, after all. Wait, we're not done, though! They wanted to wash the bike for me. OK, I appreciate this. I was, again, expecting that it would be done quickly. I was so wrong, however - I ended up waiting another hour for them to wash the bike, even when I told them to not worry about being thorough. Finally, I'm on the rode. I ride not 200 miles, when I have a clutch cable break. This I can completely understand, as predicting when the cable would fail is very difficult. I also purchased the extended warranty, so I wasn't too worried about cost. This warranty does come with a $50 deductible, though. I called the dealer, as I didn't have my paperwork, to inquire about the process and any restrictions on getting reimbursed for the tow. I ended up not getting a call back for 2 hours, and by then I had made other arrangements. Given my entire experience so far I elected to take the bike to another dealership for the repair. I did think it was perfectly reasonable, though, after only going 200 miles and with the entire set of headaches, that they would reimburse me for the $50 deductible, or at least offer me some kind of service or gift card. They still have not called me back to this day. Buying a used motorcycle can be a risky business, as with any vehicle. One should expect, though, that all of these things not happen in a single transaction. This dealership is one that should be avoided by anyone looking for even an average buying experience, let alone great service. read more

Update- i called harley davidson headquarters and told them what was happening. Within 30 minutes of getting off the phone i was getting calls and emails from the riding school, which i did not respond to because i was working. They kept wanting to work something out. What were we going to work out?! I already took the class elsewhere! By the end of the day, they sent an email saying they were issuing me a check for the FULL refund amount. Good. About time. Glad they did the right thing, but it definitely took some doing. I do give them credit for that much though. Therfore i will change the rsting to 3 stars. read more

First of all, let me say these guys ROCK! We were on vacation from Missouri just passing through and stopped in one morning around 11am and I asked when the next service appointment was available for my 35k service. They got me in and out by 4pm that day! Dave S. in service was excellent and very knowledgeable. He took a genuine interest in us and our bike and wanted to make sure we were taking care of. We also ordered a back seat pillion while we were there as my girlfriend wanted a more comfortable back seat. They allowed us to test a "demo" seat and see if she liked the pillion seat better than the stock seat, and she did. As someone who travels a lot during summer months on my Harley, I will tell you not all Harley dealerships are created equal. Thunder Mountain was one of the nicest dealerships I've seen and the staff was among the best. Again, special thanks to Dave S. in service dept, Shane in parts, and a nice young lady with black hair in apparel (sorry, can't remember her name) for an excellent experience! Bought a new Street Bob on Aug 13th. Made the mistake of not eating before going in to buy the bike. After 4 hours of waiting to do this and do that, we started getting hungry and told them were going across the street to Hooters to get something to eat and be back for the next round of negotiations, they wouldn't let us. Guess they figured we wouldn't be back hell I don't know? I kept waiting and waiting for my license plate to arrive and finally after 6 weeks and leaving two messages, I went down personally. When I got there to ask for the Title guy and where the heck is my plate, the kid hanging out with the cutie at the front desk gave me attitude. The Title guy (no need to mention his name) said we were going to be dropping off a bunch of plate documents this week to the DMV like that's an explanation? If you buy a bike here don't be in a hurry to get your plate cuz your going to be waiting for awhile. Oh, and you'd better eat before headin down. I recommend you go someplace that's hungry (get it?) for your business. read more

En route to the 75th my 2002 Road Glide began to stall when at a stop. The six of us entered the parking lot of Thunder Mountain five minutes before their closing time and were assisted by the Manager, Justin. At his direction the service department quickly accepted and wrote a service order. By 9:30 the next morning I learned the motor had sustained irreparable heat damage. This was shown to me and my two friends by way of a bore scope depicting severe scoring of the piston walls. My thanks to the technician, Ryan, who proved patient and without hesitation allowed three of us to view the damage. With no time to await a fix and absent any prompting by Thunder Mountain staff I decided to buy a '15 FLHTK. My circumstances were such that few options presented themselves. That said I engaged salesman Mike Gochenauer who provided test rides of three different touring models and encouraged additional rides. While my intent originally had been to get another Road Glide the 2015 model year did not offer an Ultra Classic version aside from the verrry high-end CVO model. My fiance and friends working in collusion, eeerrrr, I mean, working with Mike, had me take a test ride on a Street Glide. I was now sold on the "bat wings" which, to the delight of my fiance and myself, lead to a full on Ultra Limited. The approach of those with whom I worked, including Doug in finance, was never that of individuals dealing with one then at a disadvantage. I never felt pressure nor was subjected to cliched sales pitches. Harold provided a thorough orientation session on the motorcycle before Mike formally delivered it by riding it down to our trailer. I haven't any regrets over the terms of the sale nor the eventual selection of an Ultra Limited. While I would have preferred to have bought from the only saleswoman and dealer with whom I've ever dealt, that thought is tempered by the demeanor displayed by and manner with which this dealer and the above-named individuals, to include Justin, handled themselves in this transaction. read more

After taking $20,000 for a $16,000 motorcycle, Benji and the rest were not willing to stand behind the factory installed battery, which left me stranded. After having to haggle with them to get the ignition switch covered on the two-year warranty, I expected they were not going to help me and they didn't. Also, I installed my own cruise control, which requires dealer specific software to assign the correct parameter in the ECU. Thunder Mountain Harley wanted my bike for two days and 75.00 to do this simple procedure. Wild west Motorsports did this procedure for me for free in less than five minutes. Wild West Motorsports treats customers like family, Thunder Mountain only wants the dollars, no effort is spent maintaining a relationship or trying to make sure you stay happy after spending substantial money on a Harley. Very disappointing to say the least. I will travel to Greeley from Loveland before ever spending a single cent with this impersonal corporate behemoth. Thank you for showing me how little you care before I spent any more hard-earned cash at your dealership. read more

After purchasing my second bike ( Sportster 2014) I have been adding what I can by on my own however the exhaust, air cleaner and tune I brought back to the TMHD. The technician ED performed the work and treated my bike like I think he would his own at a minimum. Flawless work and the bike sounds great. Performance has improved and still under 1000 miles. I am confident their final tune will make it even better. Thanks to my service writer Dave for all his guidance and help to complete this process. read more

6/20 Dropped bike at TMHD. 6/22 & 6/29 No contact from TMHD. Called for status of part and repair and was told "it is in process." 6/30 No contact from TMHD. Was told "it is in process" and not provided any details on status of part or delivery. Explained that it had been 10 days from drop off and I had not been provided any specifics on status. Was told to speak with Sam who said they still had not received the bracket and had not contacted V&H for status of product. Sam said it was a special order item because normally the vendor sells only as a package not as a single item and it had to be manufactured because they don't carry on the shelf. Called Vance & Hines the same day. Was also told by V&H they did have the product in stock, that the brackets are sold separately not exclusively as a package contrary to what TMHD told me. 7/05 I spoke with the Service Manager at TMHD and explained that in the past 3 weeks I had not received one follow up call from his team providing information. That even when I did speak with his team I was provided only general information and was appalled that not one follow up call had been made to V&H for status of the part. He explained that he had no control over V&H manufacturing or shipping schedules and I explained that was not my complaint. My complaint was that not only had no one reached out to me in 3 weeks, that I had to make all contacts, but that no one had contacted V&H for status of shipment until I insisted on it. He told me that Sam had called me the previous Saturday with an update and I informed him that I did not receive a call and Sam had lied. Told that they were informed by V&H that they should receive it the following Tuesday and that someone would follow up with me at that time. 7/11 Received a call from Sam that the part was not in. 7/18 Received a call from Sam that the bracket had been received and upon removing the pipe they discovered the pipe collar had holes/damage and that it would cost upward of $800 to replace. I called V&H who said the cost of the part was $350.52, and that they often see these brackets break on the Dyna's because of vibration, and that I could have it welded rather than purchasing the new bracket. The V&H customer rep said if it broke again then at that point purchase a new bracket. This was better advice and customer service than I had received at any point from TMHD. I spoke with a different local bike shop who verified they had seen several of the brackets broken as a result of the vibration and that I could indeed have it welded rather than replaced. He also explained he had similar experiences with V&H slow packing and shipping times and had learned that follow up with V&H was crucial for acquiring parts more quickly. I am unclear as to why this is not a lesson TMHD has not learned and implemented as part of their customer service processes. I spoke with Phat Rides who said to bring the bracket and pipe to them and they would be able to determine if the two parts could be welded. I called Sam at TMHD and told him I would pick up the pipe and bracket tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. He said he doubted the pipe could be repaired by welding indicating I would be better off buying the new pipe. He also said that in the 12 years he had been working with bikes he had only seen two pipe brackets broken and that it did not happen very frequently which was contrary to what I had been told by both V&H and the other motorcycle repair shop. 7/19 I arrived at TMHD at 3:30 to pick up the pipe and bracket and Sam informed that he had just found out moments before that the pipe had been put back on the bike and it would take at least 30 minutes for them to remove it. I explained I had very little time and needed to be at Phat Rides before 5 and that he had put me in a very bad position. As I grabbed the bracket Sam said "that is a tough weld and I doubt they will be able to repair it". I removed all items from my saddle bags and also took the keys to my bike, leaving it unlocked, as I felt I could not trust them to not lose or misplace anything. Later Phat Rides informed that upon transport of my bike to them TMHD had not included all parts. I took the bracket with me to Phat Rides and was able to show them the photos of the holes in the collar. They explained that not only could they repair the bracket but would do it in such a way that the integrity would be even stronger than a new bracket. They also said repairing the collar would be no problem. With the new bracket and pipe TMHD would have charged me over $900 for the repair, whereas Phat Rides was able to get me back on the road for under $200. There is more but I'm out of space. This has been one of the most insulting and dissatisfying experiences I've had with any service provider. I am unable to determine if the TMHD service department is incompetent, or if their intent was to keep my bike for as long as possible as wrack up the cost. Regardless I will NEVER take my bike to them again. read more

The absolute worse!! I would give them zero stars if i could. Everyone is super nice to you when they want your business - as soon as you sign the paperwork - it's over. We were promised a tour pack and a luggage rack that would be included in the price of the bike. When we went to pick up the bike - we found out it was NOT included and we would have to pay $2,500 out of pocket for it. This is not what we were promised after spending $28k on a brand new bike. Our sales guy - was super cool and nice before signing the paperwork - afterwards - a total douche bag! Bought the bike in April and still have not received the tags after calling several times. We are not from Colorado - just bought the bike there and they insist on sending the tags to our address in Colorado... WE DON'T LIVE THERE IDIOTS!!! Lastly, they didn't even bang the gong when we purchased the Harley -- of an epic tradition that we missed out on! Do not buy your bike there! They don't care about anything other than making their money and treat you like crap after you sign the paperwork. read more
