I would strongly recommend taking your bike somewhere else. My experience with Mike has been consistently frustrating due to poor communication, repairs where things were missed, and an overall lack of professionalism and respect when problems were brought up. The biggest issue is communication. It's difficult to get clear answers or know what's actually going on with your bike, and when concerns come up, the response can become unnecessarily defensive instead of simply addressing the problem. I've also had issues after repairs that left me questioning how thoroughly the work was checked before the bike was returned. I understand that things can go wrong with older motorcycles and not every issue is automatically the mechanic's fault. What matters is how a shop communicates and handles those situations, and that's where my experience here really fell short. These guys are consistently rude, dismissive, and utterly apathetic. As someone who's been in multiple times looking for parts, I've been met with pure hostility every single visit. If you don't show up riding a Harley with a beard and tattoos, you're almost guaranteed to be ignored. When you do politely ask for help, you're greeted with snotty, one-word answers, sneers, and mumbling. I gave them plenty of chances hoping to deal with different staff, but they certainly lean hard into the worst clichés of the "biker" attitude. Good job, lads. read more

Mike is a great mechanic, and an even better person. My Honda broke down 2 miles from the shop. I called about getting it towed, but Mike was just closing the shop. He said he would come to me and see about a temp repair so I could drive it in. He made adjustments to the brakes, made sure it was drivable, and followed me in his truck to make sure i was safe. I brought my Triumph in today with no appointment needing help with a few things; brake pads replaced, brake fluid changed, and I had a couple stripped bolts, etc etc. I was in and out within a few hours - no problem. Bike felt great riding home. They've got a showroom full of exciting custom bikes and plenty of aftermarket parts to marvel at while inside the shop. Definitely a gem in West Hollywood for Triumph & Harley riders. read more

Tom I see out of your 39 reviews you have a serious 1 star issue with many, many businesses that you wrote off and verbally destroyed, let it be know to any who would listen to you that this is your M.O. See pics I would hope that after reviewing Toms ridiculous rants for 3/4 of the 39 business he reviewed that people could surmise that he may not have an accurate viewpoint on much. M.I.C.K.E.Y M.O.U.S.E!! This place should be called Thunder mountain bc this place will take you on a Disney ride. I was recommended to come here for some repairs from a friend. Worst idea ever! If you want to have mismatched parts that didn't need to be replaced, lost parts and just overall poor quality of work just come here. I have photos to prove bc I'm not some dude that had some little issue or some nightmare customer. I can let the little stuff slide, but when it comes to the overall safety and issues that will later on come due to shitty work is not right....so I have to express how bad this place is. Okay let's start off with the shit... first they replaced my brake lever that was fine with aluminum when I have chrome ones for no reason. While doing that I now have no throttle tensioner. They broke my caliper and gave me a mismatching one. Left extremely long wires that touched tires. Lost most the hardware to my rear bullet light to now water can get in to rust and short. All while giving me multiple invoices for the same work and getting more expensive for really no work added. The only reason I don't sue is bc my friend felt so bad be paid my bill, but now I have to take it to a real motorcycle repair shop to fix all of their work done to my bike. After getting the call to get my bike bc it was "ready". I showed the owner Max the loose wires touching my tires and all my side markers turned every which way except pointing straight forwards or backwards, this retard gave me thee dumbest f'ing look to which I knew he wasn't going to do shit. So I spent 30+ minutes straightening lights and strapping wires down to get the F outta that place. read more

I have been having nothing but problems with my Thunder Header exhaust for years. A couple other issues also was taking the fun out of riding. Max the owner who is been in the bussiness forever got my motorcycle back to where should be. The work was done beautifully without any issues. I've never had a worst customer service experience. Absolutely terrible here!!! Is it possible to give zero stars? This place is horrible!!! Do not go. It is close to my house so I have ended up here on emergencies. Shane is an asshole. He make you feel bad for helping you. Literally said to me "am I gonna have to deal with you coming up here everyday". Max the owner stares at me when I come in. He never asks if I need help, just stares. I asked for a battery and he walked away. 20 minutes I waited. Another customer came in who was really nice and asked why I was there. I told him a battery but that max had disappeared. He went and got him for me. I went to check out and he never even said how much. I asked how much and and rollled his eyes and put his hands up saying "I don't know it's like 140". I don't write yelp reviews but... I'm a client here, my bike was feeling a lil wobbly and I didn't want to ride it very far so I took it to a shop about a mile from my place on Glendale blvd. After being told that multiple things were wrong with the bike and fixing it was gonna cost me $1,100 +. I called Shane told him what they said was wrong and the price. He had my bike pulled from the Glendale shop and towed to Thunder Road... Not only was it a much smaller issue than the Glendale shop told me but the price Shane would've charged for that job was still less than half the price... He got me out of there for 400 bucks (thats including re wrapping my pipes).... Thunder Road is the only spot I trust to work on my bike. Honest, Super fair prices, and good dudes. read more

I'm no expert mechanic, but I work on my bikes in my spare time. I've had a backlog of projects I've been trying to get through (and a recent tax return), so I figured I'd take my bike in and get a few things done so that I wouldn't have to worry about it and I could be out riding sooner. I had some foot controls put on (purchased), the oil changed and some seals changed to stop a couple small oil leaks, a new voltage regulator installed (purchased), a new carb put on (purchased), new clutch cable installed, and a new exhaust put on (purchased). When I went in, I was greeted by the owner Max who was awesome. Really helpful, nice guy who went out of his way to help me out. But after that I just dealt with the head mechanic who is just in a constant bad mood. Really negative guy who treats you like you're beneath him. They said if I brought it by right when they opened at 11am, they'd have me out a little after lunch and just needed a couple hours to complete everything. I hung around all day until close and they still didn't finish the bike. Had to uber home and come back the next night to pick up. Not a huge deal but still irritating. After I paid thousands of dollars for some parts and for someone else to do the work, not only did I severely overpay, I paid for really shoddy work. Here's some examples of the work they completely botched: -The next day after picking up my bike, I go to hit the rear brake and the pedal just sinks. No pressure at all, almost ran a red light into a busy intersection because I had no power in my rear brake. Turns out who ever installed them forgot some parts in the master cylinder that caused the fluid to leak out every time you pressed the brake, needing a complete rebuild. Great. - The exhaust was missing nuts on both pipes. -The regulator was missing nuts to hold it in place, just hanging there loose. -The foot pegs weren't tightened all the way and immediately came loose. -Oil leaking even worse than before out of all the same spots. Oil changed but not the seals like I had asked. -All the mounting hardware used to install the carb is rusty because they used cheap parts. -My exhaust turned blue/yellow after ONE RIDE. -The clutch cable needed additional adjustment to work right. I came back in later to get a few nuts for the exhaust that they had forgot to put on, and not only did it take 10 minutes of wandering around the shop for someone to ask if I needed help, but the mechanic charged me for every nut they forgot to put on. You can't make this shit up. If you can come in here and deal with Max to buy parts, do it. He's awesome and will give you a great deal. But do NOT trust their mechanics. I've had to re-do literally every single thing they had done to do the bike because it was done so poorly. I wasted my money by not just taking care of this stuff myself which is really upsetting. Definitely bummed out by my experience and I certainly won't be back. read more

BEWARE of THUNDER ROAD. !!!! They sent me off with a rear wheel that fell off after 1 hr while driving. A side case they forgot to put bolts on Fell off on highway. There electric job that burned through 3 batteries, it cost me $300 for a mistake they made. They always have an excuse, they left out a washer on my jack shaft that burned out 2 starters. They don't realize it and that cost me another $400. They live to pull Bait and switch - I ordered an air box paid for A 300.00 dollar unit they put in a cheap junk one instead for 140.00. They put a gas tank on my harley and said it was new yet it leaked, another LIE!! I found epoxy in the tank. I can't tell you how dangerous and horrible my experience has been with them. Price gouge for hours worked. My bike often comes out with more problems than it did when it went in. If you wanna die or get ripped off this is your spot. Max got called out on his attempt to rip my client off. He threw a temper tantrum like a 5 year old. Why would I come back to hell Crap attitudes and crappy work. NO PROBLEM If your rich and wanna throw money down the drain. This is your spot. The work done on bike here might just get you KILLED !!! The attitude and arrogance is disguating. This shop will rip you off BEWARE the work done here on any bike could kill you. On three occasions when I picked up the bike. It was on a tow truck the same day. Once was at night on a freeway. All electric went dark no power. After there 1.200 $ full wire harness redo. I WAS ALMOST KILLED. Due to there work I'm 100% serious / the tow was 340.00. That night. There were two more occasion s where the same day it was picked up it died. 200.00. +199.00! +340.00. They covered nothing. Said bring it in. I would rather have a drunk monkey work on my bike. After the wasted time money that was burned at this sad excuse of a shop. If you experience issues with them I'll go to court with you. I've got alot of documents pricing what a shit show they are. read more

I took my bike there a couple times and that was enough for me. when you get it back & paint is chipped on the frame from their work &you bring it up & they look at you like you are the liar no thanks !!!!! overpriced for the service you get... even on parts they always are overpriced for some reasons. We were masked (isn't that the current mandate?) and the little red-headed owner immediately informed us he wouldn't be wearing his and didn't believe in them (where's Newsom when you need him?). Little dude was condescending and flippant to anything we asked. Told my bf he'd probably sue him if he hurt himself trying to get a saddlebag down so he cursed and grunted as he climbed his own counter to get it down for us. Asked us to bring around the bike and when my bf did, he made a racist remark about it. Do not waste your time here. They do have a lot to look at, but if you don't want this ignorant owner following you around with a scowl on his face and a major chip on his little shoulders, you'd do yourself a favor to find another shop. read more

Came in for a tune-up on a Harley. Mechanic showed up 30 minutes late extremely hungover. Got the jobs done but very late. Got home and immediately noticed he was about a quart low when filling the bike with oil. That was the first of many problems. Had him install new grips, screws came loose. Other parts came loose. Turns out he didn't tighten a thing past finger tight. All said I took it to Bartel's Harley Davidson to see the damage. They pointed out 8 major errors with my tune up. My bike was in worse shape than when I took it in. Not going again. read more

I wish there was a zero star option. I walked here looking for classic bikes - what I actually got was attitude and the poorest customer service I have ever received. There is a sign on the front door that reads, 'Use rear entrance.' However, because the actual door that you are supposed to use is behind a staircase, the quickest, open, and most visible route is through the garage. I do not suggest to use this one as the 'Mechanic' who is not working but having a non-work related conversation with friends will scream at you and say, 'Are you a mechanic... Then why are you here?' When you reply, 'I am interested in looking at classic bikes.' He may reply with, 'It's that way.' And do a half-assed point to some direction, completely unhelpful. Once inside, you may find a person working. You are deceived. He is not working, he is on a vacation that looks similar to work and will not say one word. If you have any questions, I'm sorry - they will not be answered. Even if you spend 20 mins intently looking and ask two questions; You will be reminded by complete silence, that he is not at work. I will never purchase, refer, or return to this clowning of a motorcycle shop. read more

I just got my first Harley ('06 Sportster 883) so as a novice rider I wanted to make sure everything was kosher since I'd purchased it used. Even though they were completely slammed with jobs, Shane (the shop's mechanic) fit me in for an oil change and some ball busting. That's when it was discovered the bike hadn't been serviced in a while and why (which I had thought was my own user error) the clutch was giving me such a hard time. They knocked out the clutch base adjustment, fluid, filter and handle grip changes in no time. These guys are awesome! read more

This place is great! I pulled my bike out to go for a ride after it had been sitting for about a month. After checking everything, the front brakes were locking up. I tore the master cylinder apart and realized I needed a rebuild kit. I have an older Arlen Ness brake assembly so it's not a stock part. Went to Thunder road with my fingers crossed that they might have one in stock because if they don't, I would have to order online and not ride for another few weeks. They had it! Awesome!
