Good for a family break, could use some extra care around pool - weeding and paint bathroom - but warm water and stalls have locks!

What you would expect from a LaQuinta like this but everything was first rate and for people traveling this is the perfect hotel. Everything was clean and nice. The staff were friendly and attentive. Everything felt like there was effort and care here. Our room was great with excellent air conditioning. The breakfast was standard continental breakfast but very nice with fresh food, a couple of hot items (the biscuits and gravy were great) and it was very nice. What really makes this place a winner is you have a jack in the box/mini-mart right next door and you have a Denny's right next door on the other side! Such a convenience to wander of to the JITB/Mini-Mart after the races and pickup some cold drinks and tacos/burgers. There's also tons of other restaurants and stores like McDonalds, Dominos, Burger King, Los Margaritas Mexican and a bunch of others within sight. For travelers, this convenience is spectacular and rare to have it so easily accessible and nearby. I didn't get a chance to see the pool area but I am sure it is as nice as the rest of the hotel. A solid 10/10 experience and we'll be sure to book here again anytime we plan to go have fun up at Emerald Downs again!

The smell of the entire building (thank goodness not our room) was strong and nauseating. It's not a clean smell...it's a, we want the place to smell clean but failed miserably, smell. Also, room service is every three days...we were only staying four days so it made no sense to have them clean our room. We did ask for fresh towels on the second day. We upgraded to a suite so there were two rooms. The heater in the bedroom worked fine but the one in the main room did not (we figured the hotel is aware because it was unplugged). If youre looking for a budget friendly place to stay in Auburn, this place is okay. If youre highly sensitive to smells, I cannot recommend. 10/10 front desk 5/10 room Side note, bring your own TP unless you enjoy wiping with sandpaper...your bits will thank you!

We tent camped at Thousand Trails Thunderbird and came away with mixed feelings. I really like the…read moreconcept and would love to come regularly, but there are some things worth noting. The tent sites are all clustered along a busy internal road where cars often drove quickly, even late at night. In a canvas tent, that's a lot of noise. There's also just not much between you and the road, which made us uneasy. We were advised to move sites because of possible septic runoff, and did relocate, which helped, but the traffic remained the biggest issue. Sleep was also tough between that, a 5 AM rooster, and coyotes chiming in with ambulance sirens. That said, the staff were excellent, kind, hard-working, and clearly stretched thin. My comments aren't about their effort. The bathrooms were consistently clean, though things like paper towels weren't always restocked, which again feels like a staffing level issue. The pool was clean and a highlight for my kids. We just wished the hours were longer. Ice and firewood on site were convenient, and the sense of community was real. The mini-golf is a fun idea, but it's in rough shape, with broken wood on some holes that stops the ball from getting through. Overall, there's a lot of heart here. If the tent sites were quieter and felt safer, and some amenities got much-needed repairs, we'd be back in a heartbeat. I sincerely hope that happens.

While this R.V. park has potential, the things that were promised haven't been met. So here's an…read morehonest review from someone who use to be a full timer at this park but has since bought a house and has moved on good terms: 1. There is no shade, which some may enjoy due to not having to worry about large trees falling on one's rig. When it comes to the playground there needs to be some sort of shade for the kids. 2. They are wanting to install a BBQ pit area in the field near the dog park but all RV'ers travel with cooking supplies and grills and there are no Tent sites for camping tents which people who are tent camping would benefit from the BBQ area. So it makes no sense to spend money on such a thing when no one will use it. 3. A swimming pool would change this R.V. park in an instant, it would become the hit place in town and they could easily charge more $$ per night for such a thing yet it constantly gets over looked. 4. A park upgrade could also change this place, everything is broken, and it's a half a$$ put together park/playground situation. The kids are always in the creek behind the park where there is shade because the playground is lacking so much. 5. Come summertime US-2 the highway that you drive on to get to and from town is terrible, stand still traffic every single weekend. Which means you loose your weekend stuck at the RV park with no shade or fun things to do unless you want to fight the traffic. 6. There use to be a good number of full timers and weekend visitors, it is now mostly full timers. Some with nice clean organized sites, some look like a dump field. There are no set rules it seems. Hopefully you get a clean, quiet neighbor. There have been field mice problems in people's rigs and car engines. 7. Ever since they added the Gracies place food into the resort the traffic coming in for coffee and food SPEEDS into the RV park going 35+, there are kids crossing that section of the road to get to the park and I've seen many times a car get too close to a kid coming in so fast. This is NOT ok. 8. The food at Gracie's place is Sysco food, it isn't the freshest. The wait time can be insane and the customer service could be improved a bit. 9. They state 2 dogs a site only, some sites have 3+ dogs. They also state 2 cars only per site, some sites have 2+ cars. They also state no trailers at your site, some sites have trailers parked at their site. Again there is no uniform rules. 10. This park has potential, it's been tossed around in management. No real guidance, it's surviving on pure luck and due to the fact that's it's the only RV park somewhat close to Seattle that's so flexible with its rules it will allow just about anything unlike the others closer to the city.
