There is no shade, which some may enjoy due to not having to worry about large trees falling on one's rig. When it comes to the playground there needs to be some sort of shade for the kids. 2. They are wanting to install a BBQ pit area in the field near the dog park but all RV'ers travel with cooking supplies and grills and there are no Tent sites for camping tents which people who are tent camping would benefit from the BBQ area. So it makes no sense to spend money on such a thing when no one will use it. 3. A swimming pool would change this R.V. park in an instant, it would become the hit place in town and they could easily charge more $$ per night for such a thing yet it constantly gets over looked. 4. A park upgrade could also change this place, everything is broken, and it's a half a$$ put together park/playground situation. The kids are always in the creek behind the park where there is shade because the playground is lacking so much. 5. Come summertime US-2 the highway that you drive on to get to and from town is terrible, stand still traffic every single weekend. Which means you loose your weekend stuck at the RV park with no shade or fun things to do unless you want to fight the traffic. 6. There use to be a good number of full timers and weekend visitors, it is now mostly full timers. Some with nice clean organized sites, some look like a dump field. There are no set rules it seems. Hopefully you get a clean, quiet neighbor. There have been field mice problems in people's rigs and car engines. 7. Ever since they added the Gracies place food into the resort the traffic coming in for coffee and food SPEEDS into the RV park going 35+, there are kids crossing that section of the road to get to the park and I've seen many times a car get too close to a kid coming in so fast. This is NOT ok. 8. The food at Gracie's place is Sysco food, it isn't the freshest. The wait time can be insane and the customer service could be improved a bit. 9. They state 2 dogs a site only, some sites have 3+ dogs. They also state 2 cars only per site, some sites have 2+ cars. They also state no trailers at your site, some sites have trailers parked at their site. Again there is no uniform rules. 10. This park has potential, it's been tossed around in management. No real guidance, it's surviving on pure luck and due to the fact that's it's the only RV park somewhat close to Seattle that's so flexible with its rules it will allow just about anything unlike the others closer to the city.

We were camped at site 4, across from the restrooms and garbage, less than 20 feet from the water faucet. No showers on site. Camp host has fire wood on site for $8 a bundle. Extra vehicle cost is $8 per night. We had a total of 7 people, 3 tents with lots of room to spare. We really liked campsite #4 as the river was just 10 yards away without being on the creek. Downside is we were able to hear traffic noise, trains and the mosquitoes were relentless!

The tree houses are so quaint and relaxing. The property is 420 friendly, so it was awesome to be able to smoke in the tree house, by the fire pit, even in the lounge while getting our snacks/drinks from the fridge. This space feels very cozy and more community-oriented than something like a hotel or air BnB. Pretty close to town, so easy to access anything you might need within a 10-15min drive. The animals on the property were all so precious and calm and curious about us. This was just such an awesome experience and stay! Highly recommend to people who are 420 enthusiasts, chill/relaxed mindset, looking for a quiet and calm stay, and love the outdoors. Not a good place if you're looking for luxury and a high-end boutique stay. There is a small museum with displays about the history of the area, and a small shop with stickers, books, and park passes. The people working there are super friendly and helpful. Outside, there is a payphone as cell reception can be dicey, as well as restrooms and informational signs. The restrooms were clean and had soap and running water.

We are pretty active in the winter, collecting…read morewood from fallen trees and because this location is never open or available during the colder season we are forced to drive 59 minutes (which is time and gas money) to Darrington Ranger Station to access firewood permits that only last a month. If the staff was available and open for business we would be frequent customers. Near milepost 41 and across from a convenience store, turn left (north) onto 635th Place NE. Cross the railroad tracks and continue 0.3 miles. Reach a junction and keep left on 635th Place NE for 0.1 mile. The road becomes FR-6024; continue 3.9 miles to the trailhead. Watch for potholes." The hiking trail was mostly flat and it is a great, family-friendly hike that offers a lot of scenic views and exposure to forest life. I love landscape photography and this hike offered plenty of opportunities for dramatic shots. I was also pleasantly surprised to find so many mushrooms that were great for macro photography. I am attaching those shots to this review. The lake itself wasn't that impressive but we loved the overall scenery, relatively easy hike, and photo opportunities.

So first of all know that this trail starts in the middle of nowhere. You will take a windy gravel…read moreroad with lots of pot holes for a good amount of time before arriving at a gravel lot with roughly 10 spots for cars. There were also people parked along the side of the road. Note that the road is narrow, barely fits two cars passing each other. I took a Malibu out there and managed just fine. Once you arrive there is a bathroom, but definitely isn't clean or sophisticated so don't expect much. It was open when I got there around 945 on a Saturday morning. The parking lot did have roughly 8 cars already in it. I soon found out that most of those were from campers that had stayed at the lake the night before. This is definitely a trail for 8+ I did see some families with smaller kids but I can't imagine them lasting long with the rugged trail. The trail is also over grown in some places where I thought at one point I had gone off the trail where other points there is a definitive path built in. It look around 48mins for me (1.8mi) to the lake. Once you get there is clear why people stay. I'm sure the sunrise is beautiful! Beware that there are lots of people camping by so be mindful. Overall it's a nice short trail without a lot of altitude or climbing required. Roughly 80% shaded. Would not recommend it after a rain shower though as I can see where runoff could cut off the trail and/or it being extremely muddy.
