07/14/2023 my airbag light is still going on and off. I have taken the vehicle back in to Thurston three or four times now to have this issue addressed only for the light to come back on a month later. Not only did they sell me a vehicle with the air bag light coming on but not they're refusing to properly diagnose and fix the issue with the air bag light. I highly do mot recommend this dealership as they will sell you vehicle that are a safety hazard to both you and the public. I have contacted the Dodge department and filed a claim. I am waiting to hear from the FCA so they can send a licensed and professional technician out to diagnose the vehicle. read more

I decided to bring a first-time buyer over there and the one salesman express to the guy I brought because he saw tattoos hey how long were you in prison. The salesman Enrico had great jokes but when Enrico and the sales team along with financing team seen his credit score was only 650 well they decided to tell him he had no credit score and that he needed a co-signer then the finance person @ Thurston Auto Plaza said give me 30 min to see what we can do to get you financing. We waited almost 2 hours and never heard a thing Jarrod never received a phone call or any one person acknowledging him saying sorry we really tried to get you a deal. My wife had issues with blowing a headlight multiple times so she took it to Thurston's service department. First, they were confused what the issue could be then once they did and replaced the wiring harness and bulb with a genuine replacement, they didn't think to offer replacing the other bulb so that one wouldn't blow. A week later, bulb blown. Nice preventive maintenance! Had to order replacement parts and left specific instructions to receive call once parts where in. A month later we called them to check on the parts....they got them 2 days after ordering. Needless to say they lost all of our future business. If your looking for a car a drive down south is well worth it . Victory Chevrolet will work with you on a new car and will try not to get of the warranty issues that may arise. I have a volt and that I looked up the emissions warranty on a pzev vehicle the emissions warranty is 15 years or 150k I was well under both thurstons tried telling me the egr system is part of the powertrain and that warranty had expired. I then asked victory Chevrolet and they said yes it is under warranty unless outside influences caused the issue they have my car fixed in less then a day at no cost because it was still under warranty. Don't know why the negative reviews are here, my late wife and I bought our first brand new '03 4Runner from Thurston and have enjoyed worry free scheduled maintenance as well as routine oil changes including inspections for 18 years. It's nice not having to wonder about the people servicing your vehicle and if you show up without an appt. obviously you'll have to wait longer if they're busy, that they're full up with customers says it all imo. read more

Thurston Auto Group suffers from the rapid growth of the Mendocino area, and the explosion of Cannabis Cash in general. When I see only 5 star ratings and 1 star ratings for a business, I know better than to expect good service or a good experience. Thurston used to be a good place to get your car serviced, but like most businesses in Ukiah, Thurston is now overrun with too much business, and Thurston has failed to evolve, tool up, develop a staff, or build to suit it's customers. I have only one other thing to say, and that is, Hey Thurston Auto, why would I buy a car there when you are unable, on an average day, to service my vehicle? If it takes 4 hours to change my oil, and I have to make an appointment well in advance, and you have no rental cars available, WHY WOULD I COME THERE? She was trying to help by moving a car that a customer had parked in the wrong location. He yelled at her "F*** you! Move your sh**y car". Hare Krishna. A very bad experience with the Tim Johnson (sales) and Tim Jason (one of the owners?). I wanted to purchase a GS450h. I asked them the lowest price they are willing to sell it for. Mind you I had conversed with them before via text message then I called to complain about my experience. I got a very rude and unprofessional reply via text message from Tim Johnson. Then I called to speak to the owners (Jason Thurston) the sales manager lied saying he is hardly in..anyways I think the owner picked up (?) and started giving me a lecture, if you don't like the car get lost. They claim to be a dealership but they cannot treat potential customers or have a decent etiquette on how to make a sale. They are trying to run a business ? The owner was completely rude over the phone. I can post the whole conversation and you can decide was it proper or not. I asked the so called "owner" how old just to see if he would respond, he didn't reply, he asked me how old I am. I told him 35. He told me I am old enough to be your father. What the? Completely avoid these dealership. Go somewhere else. They won't be in business long. They will be finished soon. I will be contacting the cooperate office of Toyota and other partners of Thurston division. I will be posting the audio of the conversation with the dealership owners. Please stay informed. If you have a complain about the pathetic service please complain to Toyota, Honda, Chevy, Dodge head quarters and do a audio recording to show how they treat customers. If I could give less than 1 star for Thurston Toyota, I would. The absolute WORST customer service I've ever experienced. Their registration department registered my VIN number under the wrong person and it's taken them 2+ months to submit the paperwork to get it fixed. Meanwhile, the manager is a complete JERK. Didn't respond to my emails or phone calls and when he finally did, he gave me so much attitude like it was my fault this happened! Said that it was being taken care of and that I didn't need to keep contacting him, come to find out, it wasn't fixed yet. The service department at Thurston is awful! My daughter ordered a scrape plate/splash guard/belly pan or whatever it's called because the one on her car, a Dodge Dart, had broken bolts and was hanging low and scraping on the ground whenever she went over a bump. When she got her car back, it was still doing the same thing. We looked under the car and saw that the scrape plate had not been replaced. I went in to talk to them and they said there were two pieces and we had only ordered the back piece (Say what?? The two pieces are connected together. Why would you just order the back piece and not the front? I've had this replaced before by Fowler Auto and they replaced the whole thing). Then the Service guy tried to blame it on the Parts Department - they ordered the wrong part and the Service Dept. can only replace what they're told to replace. Hellooooo, they're the service department. Which part of "service" do they not understand? I asked why they didn't see the broken piece when they hoisted the car up and they said they only replace what they were given to replace and they weren't told to diagnose it. Okay, so if your service people see something obviously wrong with the car, they won't tell the customer something is wrong because they weren't in the "diagnostic" mode? Why don't they just call themselves the "Replace Only the Part We're Given" department? This is NOT an auto service department. Then they tried to blame the problem on my daughter - she ordered the wrong part. I asked him why they didn't tell my daughter the part wasn't replaced and let her drive off the lot with it. He then blamed it on the tech guy - he didn't say anything and the Service dept. can't do anything if the tech guy doesn't say anything! This guy at the Service dept. was pathetic. The Absolute worst!!!!! I bought a car from their website. MSRP plus taxes documents ect. Licensing was going to be determined. The price was $67,128. I printed out my receipt and thought I was all set just needed to bring my Drivers license and proof of insurance in when I go pick up the SUV. I bought my 2014 Corolla Feb 26, 2015, it was new. I also purchased a 7 year/75,000 mile warranty. I maintained my car according to the owner's manual. I never had a problem wit it until April 20, 2022, when the engine suddenly failed. My car only has 59,000 miles on it. After spending hours and days on the phone with Toyota, Inc., and then with Thurston, I was treated very poorly and although my warranty could have been honored, it was not. What happened to their "Goodwill" warranty? And my warranty pamphlet that says certain parts, including the engine, will be covered even after the warranty expires ~ what a lie! This is illegal and I have made a complaint to the Bureau of Automotive Repair in Rancho Cordova. Stay away from Thurston everyone, and stay away from Toyotas!!! read more

I usually don't give bad reviews, but this one really has me wondering where did customer service and loyalty go. We have bought 3 cars over the last few years and went to but another one today. My wife and sister went by themselves since I had to work. Not only were they not willing to work a deal, both my wife and sister stated they felt they were getting the run around and bad service because they were women. After getting the run around the deal they presented them was well over priced. My wife took a picture of the computer and no matter how much I have played with the numbers they were price gouging her in the thousands. This is sad that a business would operate this way. Horrible customer service and business practices! I tried to get my deceased relative's name simply removed from their customer database and they can't seem to figure out how to do that. I've notified them at least three times in writing to unsubscribe her from all emails and mailings but I continue to get letters, mailers and buy-back offers addressed to her as if she were alive and still owning the car she purchased from them 9 years ago. After calling and leaving my last email, I was immediately called back by a very unprofessional "salesman" (he couldn't even bother answering his cell phone with "Thurston Auto Plaza") who thought I contacted them by email to purchase a vehicle! While I was trying to explain to him why I contacted Thurston Auto in the first place, he just decided to hang up on me while I was speaking. PLEASE avoid this dealership and go somewhere else! They probably have developed their bad attitude because they have been one of the biggest dealerships in town and locals don't want to leave town to buy a car. Judging from the rest of the detailed reviews here, the people who work for this dealership are completely disrespectful, ignorant and incredibly unprofessional. Walk, run, drive to Healdsburg, Petaluma or anywhere else to buy your next car...don't use this dealership! I tried to buy a Honda at Thurston's earlier in the year. I had done a lot of research about the car I was interested in and Honda financing. I was given a decent amount of time to test drive. BUT I was subjected to patronizing responses to questions. I was also given inflated financing percentages from the sales manager. Although less convenient, I opted to buy from Kastner Honda in Napa. They had zero sales mumbo jumbo, gave me the best offer from all Honda dealers in a 300 mile radius, and answered questions appropriately. read more

I was all set to buy a car today with the deal worked out and the contracts ready to sign. I walked out because of the way in which we were dealt with by the sales manager. The Thurston family are good, hard working local people who have worked hard to establish a good reputation. However, because of success in my opinion they should put more expectations and effort into the training of "customer service" for some of their staff. I woke up with a bad back, and called to say that I wouldn't be able to come to Ukiah from Windsor. Mike called me back and said that he could bring the car to me, no obligation. He drove the car down, I took it for a test drive, and said I wanted it. He had the docs ready, so I could sign right then. If I could have given a zero star, I would have! Let me start by saying that I have dealt with several auto dealerships and bought a few brand new vehicles along with used vehicles and I even set up a few friends with new vehicles at some of these dealerships. I have to say that Thurston Auto Plaza is by far the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. To start out I received a letter from Thurston Auto Plaza stating that they want to buy my specific vehicle and put me in a new vehicle. I thought well I do want to upgrade to a larger SUV (Toyota 4x4 TRD 4Runner) so I will give these guys a call. So I called and had to leave a message. The next day I received a call from Jessica, who took all my info on what monthly payments I am willing to do along with a low interest and so on. I also gave here my SS # of which she asked for and I felt it was safe to do so but I instructed her not to run my credit without my approval of which she said ok and that they do not need to run it until the end and they will get my approval then. I already know my credit score and I gave that to her also. My point was to crunch all the numbers and get an approximate deal before I drive 1 and 1/2 hours away to see them. I have done this in the past buying new vehicles and it saves a lot of time. Jessica said that it is no problem and they can definitely do that for me. She also said that she would have Rich call me back that same day. I waited for the call and it never came so I called Thurston Auto Plaza and I explained to the guy that took my call about my prior conversation with Jessica and that Rich was suppose to call me back and never did. This guy, not sure of his name, said he will transfer me to Rich. I was put on hold for 5 minutes then the same guy came back on the line and said, are you still wanting for Rich, I said yes, he said hold on I will put you through again. I was on hold for approximately 8 minutes when the same guy came back on and said are you waiting for Rich still, I said yes, he said sorry of which I said no problem, he said I will put you through to him again. At that time I got Rich's voicemail and I left Rich a message about my letter I received from them and my call from Jessica and what I was looking for in a vehicle etc. Note: The letter stated that they only had to the end of the month to make this happen so call me ASAP! I received no call from Rich so I waited until the next day at approximately 10:30 am and I called back Thurston Auto Plaza in Ukiah and a female employee took my call and I brifely gave her a run down on my situation. She said sorry for all that and she said she will transfer me to Rich again. Just to touch on the sweepstakes, 4 of us won with all of our names on that letterhead. So I asked one of the many employees I talked to what did I win on the sweepstakes? He ask for my code number of which I gave him then he stated that I need to come in to the dealership to see them to find out. WHAT A SCAM... Here are the prizes as on my letter, 1.) 2017 Toyota Corolla LE (3Yr.Lease) 2.) Apple iPhone 7 3.) 70" Flat Screen TV 4.) $10 Gift Card To finish up my review, after being on hold again, 2 minutes later someone picked up the phone then hung up... I called back and the female from my last call answered and I told her I was on hold then someone picked up the phone and hung up. She said sorry let me put you through to Rich. Just over a minute passed and this guy comes on the phone and says hello, I said hello, there was silence on the line for approximately 7 seconds and I thought that I was hung up on again but I said hello, then silence then I heard who is this? I gave him my first and last name and at that point I was done with this no customer service not answering the phone in a professional manner and one of the worst customer service individuals I have dealt with. I then stated I am not interested in your business anymore and I hung up the phone.
