Bought a used truck here. We were in the market for a slightly bigger truck. Sold our 2007 LBZ Duramax to find a 4th Gen Ram CTD Mega Cab. They happened to have one for a decent price. Went and checked it out and it was mostly pretty good. There were a few issues that I brought up to Jean-Pierre and Rick and they worked with us on the price. Got us down to something that we could manage and feel good driving away with. Paid for it, Jean-Pierre got us some diesel to get us to close to 3/4 of a tank, and we were off. Jean-Pierre was helpful and personable. Rick listened to our concerns and was ready to address them. They seemed like a pretty honest group of folks and it's appreciated in a business that gets a pretty bad rap. The only "negative" is that they're out in Lakeport. It's a pretty rough drive. Our Subaru acted up while we were visiting Clear Lake, not starting well when it was hot, so we called Guy's and they could fit us in. They checked out the car and everything checked out normal and they couldn't get it to act up as it had. They spent a good bit of time trying to find what had happened and it never recurred. They charged us nothing for the time they'd spent as they hadn't found anything to fix. The car hasn't repeated that behavior so who knows what it was doing. The attitude of all of the people at Guy's was great, very helpful. I would not hesitate to go to Guy's for any car problem, or to by a car as others have mentioned. Strohmeiers auto dealership is a joke. They are shysters and I wouldn't be surprised if they were originally carries. In fact carries are more honest than these people. My son bought his first car in January from them and so far has had to bring it back 3 times for major repairs. The first time they were ok. They should be because their mechanic did not attach a radiator hose that he should have. The 2nd and 3rd time the mechanical issues were related to the original screw up. My son had to pay for the towing both times (thank God for triple a). They told him loaners were no longer available AND that he would have to pay for the parts. Now I believe kids need to make mistakes in order to grow but this place made me so mad it was all I could do not to go down there. This morning I sent them an email telling them they give used car dealers a worse name than they already have. When my son called to check on the progress they grudgingly gave him a loaner but told him they expected 170.00 for the parts (hoses again). What a slap in the face. This car is a 2015 chevrolet and due to their incompetence it is acting like a 1990 Chevrolet. Beware any business with the strohmeiers name attached to it. Thank you. read more

The people here are honest, they genuinely want to sell you a car for the best deal they can find. My dad and I had a very good experience with Will, one of the guys at this dealership. He was really courteous and nice. It was evident that he tried his hardest to find us a good deal even with my status as a new owner and my dad's tier 3 credit score. The drive was almost 3 hours away from home, but needless to say, it was worth it. They explained all aspects of our loan and what exactly we'd be paying for. We have purchased two cars from Guy. His prices are always just above wholesale for the cars he offers for sale. He is great to work with and we will go to him for our next used car. On one of the Honda's we purchased we had him change out the timing belt and water pump just because we didn't want our daughter to have to do it later and he did the work at cost. We have found him to be very honest and the best deal in town. All of our friends recommended Guy and we saved $4,000 from the price the place down the street wanted for a similar car. He also can look for the car you want at a great price if you are willing to wait for him to find it at auction. We are vacationing in the area for the week and our engine malfunction indicator light came on this weekend. We checked out Guy Strohmeier's, rather than drive 1.5 hours to the nearest dealer. They have been AWESOME. They diagnosed the code, swapped coils and inspected the spark plug, and the car began working properly again. They didn't charge us anything! This is unheard of, where we come from. Amazing, friendly service! Our only caveat: Don't make an appointment online. Nobody checks it. I needed some quick work on my truck while we were up here on vacation and asked around for referrals. Strohmeier's came up twice but seeing Jason's review I was hesitant. I tried two other places and they coudn't do the job in a timely manner so given the emergency nature, I called and Jeff at Stromeier's said "I think we can take you at 3pm today" (an hour away!) I raced over there, and they took me fairly quickly. The mechanic jumped right in, the service manager also heped out to expedite things, and they did an extra alternator belt tightening at my request. Then Guy Strohmeier came out and introduced himself. It really seemed like family. I was wary of discrimination and learned there are African Americans and gays as an integral part of Strohmeier's. And the office staff is extremely friendy. Jason surely experienced something upsetting, but for what it's worth, I was very satisfied here with their treatment and service. And the bill was far lower than I ever would have expected! read more

this is the worst auto dealer i have ever delt with i purchased a car from them last month we walked in to there business and they were very nice people they told us they could find what we were looking for in 7-9 days and all we asked for was a magnum 05 or 06 with good tires and a 3.5 l v6 what we got was a 07 3 weeks later mind you we gave them our trade in during the 7-9 days and rented a car the 07 had bald tires warped rotors bad brake pads interior lights do not work check engine light came on on our way home there lead tech sent us to a tire shop down the street ( cause he said they cant sell us a car like this he also repaired the pads and rotors with out the ok of the sales dept.) 2 weeks later the sales dept sent us a bill for the tires ? they told us that we had left with out paying when we were told by there tech to go get them and have them ( tire shop) call the tech at the dealer for the ok?????? thecar also came to us with dark window tint and tinted headlights we have been pulled over numours times for the tint and have been told that they should replace the headlights and have the tint taken off but they refuse to due so so i had to have the window tint taken off and am having a hard time finding a set of head lights we can afford so all and all it was a very bad experience and since complaining about it to local people i have heard the same story over and over even the other dealers have warned me about trying to have future repairs done with them so if you need a car in lake county stay away from them and if you have to use them dont let paul or jordan sell you a car ! read more
