I love this store. All if the food is all fresh and organic. The prices are reasonable and I have yet to buy anything that I did not like. They have a decent selection of prepared hot foods, salads and wraps as well. The store also has an impressive variety of dairy products to chose from. The store is rather expensive even for a health food store. The variety is pretty good even though a pretty small store. We bought some 3 bean feta salad and no carb bread. The salad had no seasoning and was pretty bland and gave bought better flavored ones from a regular grocery store. The no carb bread was horrible. It tasted like cardboard and did not even toast well. I have had no carb bread before and although the texture is definitely different from regular bread it had done flavor and this was not even consumable and vista $9.99. Definitely not a place I am going back to but I am just visiting the area so not likely anyway. read more

The single most comprehensive health food store I've ever been to, owned & run by very knowledgeable people. I would typically have to go to at least two or three stores like TJ's or Whole Foods (or Henry's, out in Cali) to find the things that T&S has under one roof. If you've just started a gluten-free or other specialized diet, you owe it to yourself to stop here at least once, just to see what your options are! You'll save yourself hours of stressful searching through shelves at those other places, trying to find things you can actually eat. They've got an extensive selection and likely have what you're looking for. I've found the prices to be fairly reasonable considering it's a specialty food store. I've gotten some items there for no more than I would have spent at a big grocery store. I also recommend that you check out their hot food items! Great for a healthy option on the go. They serve a variety of soups and other pre-made foods, including vegan and vegetarian options. I've gotten some truly delicious Field Roast sausage creations from there. I'm used to natural foods stores that are generally much larger, with much bigger produce sections. So I had to adjust my expectations a little when we drove up. It's a *tiny* store, but surprisingly packed with many interesting whole food and small producer made items. The apples and juices we scooped up here went into preserves for family and friends small Christmas gifts. I was happy to find pretty much everything I needed. We took our first shopping trip to T&S based on a tip on the Beyond Meat web site listing it as stocking more of their products than any other store in the area. We were impressed with most of the store and most of the prices; shocked at how high the vitamin & supplement prices were and disappointed there was no seating for their fresh hot food offerings similar to the Guilford market. All in all we were pleased and VERY happy to find a store less than 20 minutes away that stocks about 85% of what we need to supply a vegetarian and dominantly organic lifestyle. We couldn't shop at the similar store in Middletown with out winning the Lottery and Thyme & Season is very doable. We are looking forward to shopping there a couple times a month. read more

I went to Thyme & Season for the first time today. My roommate and I both got lunch from the hot food section in the back. She got chicken and rice soup and I got soy sausage and couscous. We were both highly impressed with how tasty the food was for the small amount of money we paid. There is a really awesome selection of packaged food, produce, and beauty items. I was so excited to see so many vegan options all around the store, as it is difficult to find options in regular grocery chains. I cannot wait to come back! read more

I went in there twice, both times the staff was rude and indifferent ; and also verbally sparing with one another. The selection is amazing and the hot food was nice as well. Very lousy quality of produce and bulk foods. The romaine was so old and wilted, unfit for human or animal. Looks like they strip off the outside rotten leaves and wait for someone to buy the remains-awful. All of the produce is priced very high and looks over-ripe, bordering on rotten. I bought a container of salted sunflower seeds, that I had to return as they were rancid. No dates on any of the bulk items, be careful. My elderly mom was the one who had to eat the rancid seeds and had a tough time ridding the rotten taste from her mouth. The staff is snarky and will fight you over a return. read more

This is a nice go to organic store, of course you pay for what is there. They offer various herbs, spices, teas, and organic items that you just can't find anywhere else locally. Overall the staff is friendly, the store is clean, and the variety is there. The only downside is the rt 10 and small parking- it is a fight to just get out of the lot and onto rt 10- and forget about heading toward Cheshire- you will never leave. LOL read more

They have a great selection for a small store. They have all the basics and then some. I love their bulk section, they have a lot of stuff. Where else can you get TVP in bulk? I haven't seen it at whole foods! They have a great baking needs section and snacks as well. They're also the only place I can find Nasoya silken creations tofu. read more

This is an old fashioned grocery store (size wise and selection wise) with a focus on organic and health foods. I've been to the posher competition (Whole Foods) and even bought things there, but I like the scale of Thyme & Season. The product selection at T&S is very good considering its size. And (for me at least) you can't beat the convenience--Whitney Avenue in Hamden beats the Post Road in Milford in my book (at least where I live now). The prices are competitive as well--which is easy to check because the local Stop & Shop carries may of the same products. read more

This grocery store is really cute. They have produce, but it's kinda pricey. This s the only store that I know of that sells kelp noodles, quinoa pasta, and black bean pasta. Probably cheaper if you order online, but if you don't have time this is the place to go to. Their soups and wraps at the back are really good and fresh. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped into this place while we were road tripping and needing some healthy car snacks. Great selection with reasonable prices, we easily found what we were looking for. Their deli has lots of vegan options, including vegan cheeses and pastries, and portion sizes are generous. The only funny thing is that if you eat in the dining area the otherwise tranquil atmosphere will occasionally be interrupted by the sound of their extremely loud smoothie grinder. i have been going to thyme and season for a few years when i am in the area, and thought i had already written this review.. the first few times i was just passing through and didn't take time to look closer at what was on the shelves, the other day i had some time and was impressed by their stock - they have a lot of products i have never seen (and been looking for) at other health oriented grocery stores including the bigger chains. prices are on-par with other stores, some items were much cheaper and others were a little higher but across the board the prices were average. their gluten free selections seem to be growing all the time here, if you are looking for GF foods this is a place you must check out. produce section isn't too big - but has always had what we were looking for. parking out front is not ideal, but they have a huge parking lot in back - leaving the parking lot can be a major undertaking if you are trying to cross traffic. worth checking out if you are trying to eat healthy. read more

The prepared food and soups here are truly delicious, well executed, and they keep a fairly wide variety of dishes throughout the week. I tried foods, especially vegetarian and vegan, that I normally would find to be too bland or boring and somehow they still taste amazing here. I think all their effort in back really pays off. I wonder who their ace is in the kitchen who develops their recipes - they ought to open a restaurant as well. The groceries they carry are quality although the variety is limited. I don't think lesser variety of goods is a problem as long as they are carefully sourced for quality and value, which I believe they are here. Too many options in this country is what makes people crazy. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because the prices are noticeably higher than other stores for the groceries and supplements. Due to their size and inability to get greater bulk purchase discounts I'm sure it's what they are forced to sell it for - and not just because they want to make more money. Overall I'd say this place is worth the visit and probably the healthiest most reliable place to get food in a 10 mile radius. read more
