My friend and I stopped into Thyme2 for lunch after visiting Castle Noel. It was a weekday and we got lucky with a mostly empty restaurant. We were seated right away and our friendly and prompt waiter was quick to bring us menus, drinks, and take our order. Our food came out hot and quickly. We devoured the soft pretzels with beer cheese. The pretzels were fresh, hot, and had just the right amount of salt. Then our 4-cheese and sausage pizza came out. Perfection. Everything down to the crust was delicious. The decor and seating area are comfortable, yet elegant. The bar area was beautifully decorated for the holiday season. First time stopping into Thyme2 after hearing from others about their great experience here. We stopped in for a quick lunch as it was a nice day and could sit outside. This place is awesome with a perfect sized menu and great variety. They offer a pub lunch and dinner menu and a fine dining menu, and we ordered from the pub lunch menu. The fine dining menu is a bit more expensive, and reasonably so. The pub lunch menu is perfect, offering munchies to share, salads, burgers, wraps, pizzas and so much more. I did not sit inside but got to take a look as I used the restroom and the ambiance is really nice and a beautiful interior. All the food was outstanding and large portion sizes. The service was also great and everyone was so friendly and personable. Even the server who was not designated to our table was chatting with us and cracking jokes and just made the experience awesome. Our waiter was also great and even offered to split the salad onto 2 plates as he heard we were going to be sharing it. The portobello pizza was incredible, it had goat cheese and honey and it was a flavor bomb that I have not tasted before. It was a good size for the price and is just the right size as it could be a personal size or share it with another person. We also ordered the special which was the chicken bacon ranch wrap with fries, they gave a very generous portion of chicken which I loved as usually restaurants skimp out on that. I wish there was more ranch but only because of the generous portion of meat. We also ordered the steak cobb salad and the steak was AMAZING! So flavorful and the peppercorn ranch dressing was very very good. Side note - order the fries! these are the best fries I have had in a LONG TIME and were perfectly crispy and salted. I would come back for the fries alone. Overall, this place is great! I would say to stop in if you are in the area but you should come even if you are not in the area. This place is legit! we got recommended this spot after a visit to nearby majestic meadows farm and it did not disappoint. This hidden gem is absolutely amazing!! It's right next to the new hotel in the Medina square that is being built. My husband surprised me for our ten year anniversary with a lunch date while kids were at school. The fine dining upstairs is generally not open during lunch hours yet the manager allowed him to reserve a table and the chef agreed to let us order from the fine dining menu which can I say was absolutely amazing. We also learned there is a bar/restaurant downstairs that is super cozy and there is seating on the one side to watch the chef cook! They have outdoor seating during warm weather! Came in on a Friday midafternoon for lunch. The place was bumping! Service was fast and friendly. They sat us in the Pub, which was pretty neat as you can see right into the kitchen. They were prepping some bone in pork chops for dinner I have got to go back for! My daughter had the turkey club and I had the grilled cheese. We both had the tomato bisque soup. This was the best dinner in the area I've had out in a while. I met some friends here on a Friday evening and though we didn't have reservations to sit in the fine dining upstairs area, we were seated downstairs right away. The vibe is more relaxed downstairs, but you can order from both the pub menu and the restaurant menu so that was a nice surprise! Two of my companions had burgers from the pub menu and both were really impressed...one saying the spicy flamethrower burger he had was the best of its kind he has ordered anywhere. I got the beggar's purse salad from the restaurant menu and it was quite good. A unique offering with a warm goat cheese pastry and sweeter with the rhubarb compote, it was a pleasant flavor pairing. Thyme2 is located just south of the Square (walking distance - literally only a few hundred feet), so it's in a great location. The upstairs section of Thyme is considered fine dining, while the downstairs area is more of a pub feel. It is one of the more popular restaurant in Medina. We've been on several occasions and usually sit in the pub area. You can't go wrong with either place. Obviously, the pub is more casual. They actually have two different menus as well, but I believe you can order off of either menu regardless of where you sit; you just have to ask. Last time we were there, my wife got this smoked tomato bisque soup. It did not sound good to me, but when I tried hers, I wished I had ordered one! It had a really unique flavor. I would definitely recommend this. I had a burger, which was fine. Next time I will try something more original. The couple next to us had a lobster pizza, which did not sound good to me either. However, they ordered it without even looking at the menu, so they are obviously regulars and that is their go to dish. I may have to try that next time. There are so many cool things to do in this area, which helps make Thyme an excellent choice for a night out. This is a Jeykll/Hyde restaurant in that the upstairs is the fancy part and you can make reservations. The downstairs is for the plebians and seating is free for all BUT you can order from the fancy menu as well as from the pub. Everyone in my party ordered a burger with fries and they did look great. The fries were very rectangular, crispy and seasoned. Our server told us that the simple side salads were free! That was a cool perk. They were nothing too special but that's a nice addition to anything fried! I got their special that day which was the Korean short ribs with kimchi and rice cakes. Okay, the short ribs were cooked very authentically! It was the appetizer portion so it was kind of tiny but the presentation and taste were on point. It was $22 which wasn't on the menu or said before which is super pricey for just an appetizer but I did end up getting full off my BF's leftover fries. The staff was very friendly and speed of food was pretty fast for them being pretty busy. I would come back and try their upstairs experience! Both hostesses were very friendly, setting the tone for the rest of the evening. This is such a charming place, the decor is just unique, and then there's the additional bar and pub dining downstairs. When we were ready for dinner, it was perfectly timed. Everyone's dinner was amazing, and I would absolutely return here again if I was in Medina. Let's start with the good: arrived around 5:30 on a Saturday evening since we wanted to sit at the bar and luckily beat the rush. We're greeted by the bartender right away and he made a great dirty martini for me and a fruity drink for my husband (don't laugh - he loves grapefruit and orange flavors!), that was about where the good ended aside from the French onion soup being quite good and the French fries being amazing, the rest of the food was average or even below average in my opinion. the bad: the bartenders stopped paying attention to us, which is fine - it was a busy Saturday evening, we made do. We finally placed our orders for food and like I mentioned, French onion was decent. I ordered a wedge salad to start and I really just thought it was boring and just not good. No dressing but like a bacon jam of sorts on it - it was bizarre. I ended up taking it home and making a homemade blue cheese that I ate it with later that saved it somewhat. I ordered the mussels which were very interesting with a chorizo cream sauce but the mussels themselves (supposedly PEI) were the tiniest I've ever seen and for some reason they didn't have a mussels fork even after I asked so I was given a spoon which was awkward. Luckily I wasn't very hungry since the mussels themselves could never have filled me up. My husband ordered a burger which I thought looked amazing but he was neither here nor there with it. The French fries were truly sooooo good I will say some of the best I've ever had at a restaurant. Food is generally good often very good but drinks and wine are priced on the high side . Often waited for server to notice empty glasses . The rib itself was fine but the side was horrendous. A grilled lettuce? The only time I have seen this was on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. Just a bizarre and distasteful thing to add a smokey taste to a tomato soup, had about 1/2 a spoonful which tasted like a burnt log. Only time in my life I have had an issue with a basic grilled cheese meal, coming from a "pub and fine dining" restaurant very disappointing. What a fun time! My parents live in the area and we were visiting from CT. We used this place as our "last night together" dinner and what a special time it was. We filled up on appetizers and drinks before digging into yummy meals. The food was delicious. I loved that the menu wasn't pages and pages long but there was something for everyone on there. We visited for the "pub section" of the restaurant rather than the fine dining option. It was a lovely spring day and we enjoyed time out on the patio. Came here with about an 8 person group for a work dinner. Ordered the scallops and we had several appetizers. Locals from the area said this was one of the best restaurants in the area and it did not disappoint. Will be back again for sure and will probably order the scallops again read more
