We had a dinner for my brothers birthday here. We had 7 people, and were refused a larger table. We were elbow to elbow at a very small table, and were told they had no more tables while I stared at an empty 2 person table the whole time I was here. Our sever was slow to refil our drinks and pick up our empty dishes. We were also given 2 salsas and one basket of chips for 7 people. I have never once left a review for a restaurant, but this was so bad I had to. They weren't that busy. maybe It was just our server, but this place sucks. Go to La Cantina. read more

We stop here periodically on road trips. It's your typical tex mex menu and decor. The play area outside was awesome when our kids were younger but they've outgrown it now. Great Experience at Lupe Tortilla today, good pico starter, one of the most tender Flank Steaks i ever had, with great flavor, all around. Got the three pepper cheese steak. A Modelo Negra, with a Don Julio Grand Marniel margarita cocktail. My wife got chicken tacos and two margaritas . Cocktails literally took roughly 3 minutes, and the service was soo fast i lost track of my stopwatch (please disregard the 2nd lap, it was roughly 7-10 mins later). Cocktails had great balance (strength vs flavor), Head of the beer was nice and foamy and the beer was cold (usually indicators of clean beer lines, and good CO2 pressure and temps). Now we have been there twice in a week. Their chips are extremely light which I love so I can enjoy some without killing my appetite. They have good salsa and also serve beans with the chips and salsa, another plus. My husband ordered the cheese enchiladas both times because he enjoyed them the first time consistency was on point. I ordered the veggie fajitas on our first visit. They were able to leave out the bell peppers as I am allergic, some places already have them in their mix. These were the best vegetable fajitas yet because they had plenty of portobello mushrooms and poblano peppers as well your normal veggies. They make the tortillas onsite so they were fresh. The house margarita was tasty and our service was good. We returned last night before we left the area, I chose the cilantro jalapeño grilled chicken with rice and beans. I'm not refried beans girl and should have asked to substitute but didn't, the chicken was good but could have used more char, the dish was definitely spicy because it was topped with red and green jalapeños. If I was to do it again I would order a spicy sauce versus something just topped with the peppers. Service was still very good. Definitely recommend. read more

OMG.... I am so very impressed. Me an the hubby went on a Thursday at 3pm on 4/20/23 an I can tell u I wasn't expecting that much. If u look at my other reviews I do seem to leave a lot of negative, so I'm hard to please. We established that . Everything was excellent. I have a good lil buzz on the Lou original margarita (LG). Table comes with chips, & beans. Different but nice. I got the Cilantro, Jalapeño Chicken . . The hubby got the Tequila chicken an it came with cheesy rice an side salad. Dear lord it was phenomenal. We ate here as we were passing through Beaumont. The service was very good, friendly and attentive. The chips were hot and fresh. The tortillas were homemade, they were good and very large, not your average size tortilla. We got the trio appetizer of sauces, the queso was good, the green sauce was just a a creamy plain guacamole, and the red sauce was a warm, very blended salsa type that was ok but nothing to order again if I came. My husband ordered the chicken lupe, chicken breast with cheese and pico on top. He said it was good though the chicken was a bit dry. So our overall opinion is that the place is mediocre and we would try something different on our next visit. We do have a friend who loves the place though so don't take our word for it, come make your own opinion. Haha read more

I had the puffy tacos today and a major disappointment...the taco shells didn't seem fresh and were over cooked so the taco just fell apart on the first bite. This Tex Mex restaurant gets busy with the after church crowd, which for us pushed our family lunch back quite considerably. After seated we were surrounded by the Sunday-only mariachi band which was fun but also a bit loud at times. Once we ordered it took a while for our food to come out. The servers were friendly and accommodating and helpful, but everything took a lot longer than I would have ever expected. It became a type of lunch-dinner by the time our food came out. We all tried to limit our intake of chips and salsa and beans. The salsa and beans had good flavor they were both so runny, like water or clear soup. The queso was okay, kind of tasted and looked like velveeta. The show stopped we're the tortillas, both corn and four. Great flavor and hold on the corn. You can't go wrong with fresh made tortillas. My vegetable tacos had only dry veggies in dry tortillas, sauce in the side with an okay side salad (made better with some guacamole). Some bites of chicken I tried were flavorful but everything is tasty covered in melted cheese. It was an okay visit and my family really likes it but it just wasn't super memorable for me overall. read more

This was my second time eating here and like the first - not impressed. The "salsa" is essentially pico - It was okay but lacked in flavor. To me, the salsa says a lot about a good Tex-mex restaurant. They also serve charro beans to dip which is interesting. I got cheese enchiladas with rice and beans and it was all pretty tasty. Food just needs some adjustments, my food was too salty and my Carne Asada was to sour, you lose the taste of meat adding many spices. The chicken flautas the inside was like Chichen sauce with cheese and no chicken flavor. When I go to a restaurant like that and there's no horchata or natural beverage is a red flag to me! Cinco de Mayo! Strolling mariachi band. Tasty spicy shrimp and fish tacos. Our waiter was very nice but he did only the minimum for us. I was out of water and he didn't ask if I needed more when he brought tea for my wife when she requested more. Higher prices for what we received. We even had to pay extra for refried beans, $2.25 for about 3 tablespoons or so. Normally beans and rice come with dinners automatically. Good meal but a few failures also. read more
