Very odd experience I called saying I had a Groupon when I scheduled the appointment and when I checked in the woman told me she didn't need to see it until after the massage. Place was very clean, lots of rooms, the massage therapist introduced herself and was nice although hard to understand with limited English. I was a little confused that there were large towels instead of blankets or sheets but I went with it. The pressure was very intense and I had to keep telling her to go easier. It felt more like a deep tissue massage, or even more like physical therapy then a relaxing experience and I kept tensing up asking her to use less pressure. At one point a guy who was an employee (I assume) opened the door to my room and had a full 5 minute conversation with the lady doing my massage WHILE she was working in me. Very awkward. At the end when I was getting dressed I noticed a weird sign on the wall -"this is a professional spa please don't ask sexual related questions" -what?!!! That was very creepy and I'm kind of glad I didn't see it until the end. Worst part was checking out, the massage therapist said she had to "call the boss" because she didn't know how to use the groupon. The boss is screaming into the phone (I can hear it from across the counter) and she gets on speaker phone and tells me very rudely that she doesn't have a contract with groupon anymore and she's not taking it and it's not her problem. This review is after giving 4 good chances. Customer service-wise they're pretty good. Regarding the actual message....not so much. My experience summed up 1. I was cold majority of the massage. The lotion application is cold and not warmed upon application beyond rubbing between her hands for a moment. Then she used a warmly damp towel that quickly cooled by time it was rubbed on my other arm (she wipes both arms and both legs). Now imagine cold lotion, cold, damp towel and the AC). I couldn't wait to get outside in the humidity. 2. After complaining about being cold (lol I know right), the hot stones that were applied were so hot!!!!! Like way hot! 3. Not a relaxing experience. There's a whole lot of intense pounding and beating. It hurt more than anything. I was up the entire 90 minutes. The final irk was when she picked both of my legs up in the air and dropped them 3 times. WTH?!? Who's idea was that?!? Her elbow was in my spine at one point during the back massage and I woke up this morning with soreness all along my back. 4. My door was opened most of the service so the phone ringing and answering made it hard to zone out in addition to the intense pressure. 5. I'm not a big fan of starting and stopping, exiting and entering the room mid massage and that still being deducted from my 90 minutes. Yeah well that happened frequently. 6. I come here very often, they always do a great job. It starts Asian style, through a blanket or sheet, to get a really good grip on you knots and progresses into Swedish style with oil. If you have tight muscles and pain, this is the place to go. As others mentioned, the massage therapist do sometimes leave the room or answer a call, but they always make up the time and go over the timer. It's 50 dollars for 60 minutes or 70 dollars for 90 minutes. The value is incredible and they always get me in as a walk in. They have a loyally program, buy 9, get one, so if you are a regular customer it works out to actually be 10% cheaper. The prices, hours and availability have made massage accessible for me when I need it. I was disappointed to see another reviewer post pictures of the signs making it clear that this is not a spa offering sexual services. With the stereotypes of Asian run massage parlors, imagine how frequently someone comes in pushing for sexual contact, and how difficult safely declining is with a language barrier. read more

I think this place has gotten a bad rap on yelp. I have been twice and both times my experience was excellent. I'd say it is very comparable to V&V (down the street) but the atmosphere is a bit nicer. Both times I've been I've gotten the 90 minute combination foot and body massage. The one thing I'd say is that even though the menu says it's $60, they charge $70 if you split it up as 60 minute body and 30 minutes for feet. Also there is tax and the charge they quote is not inclusive of that. The employees don't speak much English but manage to get the important points. My massage was very good--he worked out some major kinks in my shoulders and neck and was careful not to make the pressure too intense. Give this place a try. read more

Saying I love massages would be an understatement. I've been to this location alone at least 40 times in the last two years. I've recommended it to family, friends, and neighbors. If you are in need of a good massage and not needing the luxury of Rittenhouse, I would definitely recommend this place. A few things to note before going you have to ring a doorbell to be let in, a towel is in place of sheets, your massage might be interrupted because of a phone call or needing to answer the door, and they keep the room door cracked through the entire massage. I've had 60/90 full body massage, couples massage, and 30/60 minute foot massage. If you can handle all of that it's the best $50 you will spend all week. They take both appointments and walk-ins. read more

I have been going to this massage spa since the first week it opened in 2016. The foot reflexology is great and I like how you get a private space for 1 or 2 people. I also go for a massage to help with my sciatica nerve and they help a lot. Very clean and friendly and you can't beat an hour massage for $49. There is also parking right in front. read more

Today was my first trip ever to Tibet Foot SPA. The ladies were nice and the place was clean. I had a groupon for a couples massage and arrived with my bestie. We originally had our appointment made at 2p, but they were kind enough to accommodate my change in schedule and fitted us in for 1pm with the (2 day) advanced notice. There is parking right in front of the establishment which is a huge plus considering it's difficult to find parking in South Philly! I didn't catch the name of the lady who gave me my massage, but she has excellent strength! She made sure to ask if the pressure she was applying was ok considering I unintentionally moved away when it was too much to handle. FYI, she did ease up because I asked her to :) The massage ended with a hot stone, the first I've ever had and it was AWESOME. It kind of felt like sitting in a car with seat warmers, only you're laying down on your tummy and the stones sit in the center of your lower back. One word-HEAVEN. I think I also met the owner. I didn't catch her name, but she was very sweet and made sure to ask us how our massage felt. The staff was very friendly and professional, I can't stress that enough. I am updating my review of Tibet Foot Spa with a vengeance. I had called ahead for the $50/hr massage and made an appointment for 3:30PM. I also asked if there were any earlier options, even 30 minutes earlier, but the woman in her broken English said 3:30 is better. So fast forward to 3:30, I get to this parlor on time and first of all, the door is locked. I stood there ringing the bell multiple times, but no answer. I reluctantly knocked through the glass door and the lady finally came out. She looked really confused. I told her that I had an appointment at 3:30, but again in her incomprehensible English, she kept saying "walk in walk in, sorry." I had no clue what she was saying for a good minute or two, but after some communication via body language, she was essentially telling me that she took a walk in who strolled in at 3:20 even when she clearly knew I had made an appointment. The lady kept repeating "I don't know" and "walk in," and asked me to wait an hour until she finished the walk-in person's massage. I was completely flabbergasted. This was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Please do not support this business!!! read more

Pros - Massage is average for the price. I got the foot massage and was not adventurous for full body due to typical rock hard Chinese hands breaking my ribs. Moreover they had a bath towel kind a fabric to cover up for full body massage. No thank you !! Cons- I gave 20% tip of the total and I made sure if this is ok. She said 'its ok" "its ok" in a rude tone. Duh ! how much do they expect more than 20% for a mediocre massage and ambiance? Seems like Staffs here are "on call" and short staffed be prepared for a pause in your massage if your therapist have to leave you for a min or two and door bell ringing intermittently. I am giving this five stars if I compare to other $1-a-minute Asian Massage spas. It isn't perfect but for a $50 one hour massage it is pretty excellent. The rooms are very clean and spacious and the staff are eager to please. There are private massage rooms, not the curtained "rooms" I've seen in Chinatown, and a nice comfortable waiting room. I had visitors in town and called on a Sunday morning to see if we could find a last minute cheap body massage for four people. (Something a rittenhouse spa would never be able to accommodate). The woman was very friendly and asked me to pick a time so that she could call more staff in to take the four of us. Two hours later I was getting an hour long massage that felt like it went on forever. If you want an expensive feeling experience, go somewhere expensive. This place gets the job done. read more

Super friendly, clean and comfortable. I've been there twice so far, and both massages were very good. First one was a little firm, but still very good; the second one, by a different person, was just the right touch. Either way, everyone is very approachable, so you can guide what you would like. I bought a Groupon for a couples' massage and scheduled an appointment for yesterday at 5pm for my friend and myself. We arrived about 10 minutes early and the place looked clean enough so we were really excited. The woman working didn't speak English so she called someone else (another employee or the owner?) and explained the situation. The other woman on the phone told us there was no one working and they couldn't give us massages. I told her we made an appointment and she insisted we were wrong. Throughout the entire interaction, both were rude and unfriendly and clearly weren't interested in making/keeping ongoing customers. My suggestion is to not waste your time with this place and go somewhere else. I was told to wait for ten minutes, and I would be taken care of. Thirty minutes later, and still no one took care of me; I walked out, never to return. Another work said "We are ready for you, may I see your coupon" she scans it and we proceed to get massages. Get undressed, under the towel, and 5 min into the massage the owner comes on and says "STOP, You Groupon no good, it already been used" Now, knowing we bought it yesterday this is bullshit. She said "You just pay me instead" I don't think so, get on the phone with Groupon in my underwear while 3 little Asian ladies are staring at me. I get dressed and go talk to the owner and explain she checked us in, and then another worker checked us in. She said "Oh, so sorry, it's here I make a mistake" At this point Groupon cancled the Groupon and credited our account. Never again. I am only giving one star because I don't have the option of giving 0 stars. This place has by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. My husband and I went to this place after purchasing a Groupon for a couple's massage. I made an appointment via phone with the manager and told her that we had purchased a groupon. She was happy to give us an appointment the next day. We arrived at the spa, and the receptionist, who spoke very little to no English, demanded to know how much I paid for the groupon, which was weird. I told her $63, and she immediately said that they are not accepting those groupons. She proceeded to call the manager on the phone, and the manager hollered, and screamed at me that they were not accepting that groupon while I tried to explain that she never mentioned that they would not accept groupons. I obviously got frustrated and ask her why she was screaming at me and all she could do was scream more. It was extremely disrespectful. In addition to screaming, the manager hung up in my face mid-call. If this isn't the worst kind of customer service, I don't know what is.
