I came for the first time last week with a friend that wanted to try something vegan as I'm vegan myself. It's a buffet and you pay by weight, there are a lot of vegan options which is quite nice, it's not too expensive and I find the food was quite filling. The place looks very nice and there was a lot of seating, it wasn't full. I would recommend because there is not so many vegan places in the area for this price and the food was ok it was filling , but I wasn't amazed, the food wasn't so exciting even though we didn't try everything. I don't feel like it's the kind of place you can bring your non vegan friends. And I felt a bit bad that some dishes I couldn't take just because there was honey. read more

Missing my lovely Samses in Zurich, I have found a pretty good alternative in London: TIBITS! This is actually a Swiss concept, so I guess I kind of have to love it. It is just amazing. You can choose from so many good things and in the end you pay by weight. I always go for a little bit of everything on the mains and I am always getting really excited if I see there is Cheesecake and Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert! They are both absolutely fantastic!!! For a drink the passion fruit lemonade is my recommendation, it's heavenly refreshing! The restaurant is such a good place to hang out and relax but they also do take away. Seriously if I had enough money and if I'd work or live nearby, I'd come here every single day! read more

When I lived in Switzerland, the origin of tibits, I ate there all the time. Now there are so many other nice places in London to try but I wanted to go once and see if it's any different. And... it isn't! I got the same quality and deliciousness that I was so familiar with. You can put as many different hot foods, salads, and snacks from the buffet on your plate as you want and then weigh it at the bar where you also order your drink. A good selection of vegan and vegetarian food. Lots of interesting things to try, some of which are great and some less so. I wanted to keep everything very separate on my plate so I could taste everything on its own knowing what each was. Luckily this limited how much i took because when i got it weighed it came to fourteen quid. We're in Mayfair, don't forget. Nothing stood out highly but everything was very acceptable. So far so fairly good. The place was comfy and quiet and the employees helpful, I really was quite happy here. Great place for Vegetarians !!!... I tried multiple places on a short visit to London. This was one of the best over all experience I had. Staff was very friendly. Place itself is little loud for a quite candle light dinner. They do have tables downstairs, which is lot quieter but you miss the liveliness. Free WiFi, though it didn't work for me. I've been to Tibits before but not this branch, and was super impressed by the light airy atmosphere downstairs. We had actually reserved the space for a book club but I was delightfully distracted by my plate of healthy and appetising food! It's not cheap, and waiting in line felt lonnnng (I was starvin' like Marvin) but it was totes worth it. I would happily go back anytime I'm in the area. Going through my annual vegan(ish) cleanse, I decided to try tibits, both because I wanted some mammal-free food and because I'm sick to hysteria of EAT! Pret & Itsu. I must say, as far as buffets go, this is really tasty and very well priced. Considering the immediate buffet alternative that comes to mind - Whole Foods- I found this vastly superior. You have to take it for what it is: a great option to chain-lunches. I thought their hot food was especially pleasant. I would definitely go again. OH! Wanted to try something new. Heard about it, and tried it last evening. Like the interior but could do with more spacing ( guess cannot ask for it as it is central London ). The food is amazing, and they have a weigh your plate deal. The have good fruit juices and i must say the dessert was amazing. This place is very cool...it's upscale yet laid back. They have various seating options (table, bar, outside, even a few couches) and a kids corner downstairs where little tykes can entertain themselves. This place has an amazing mostly vegan (and sometimes entirely vegan) buffet. The choices are all nicely, and strongly, flavored and the deserts are some of the best I have ever had out. The atmosphere is delightful and it is one of the larger eating establishments I encountered while in London. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. First of it took me 5 plus visits to realise this place was vegetarian (and I'm not one). Needless to say the food here is great, light and healthy. Perfect alternative your usual bar snacks or ideal for lunch, perhaps as I've done to start a night out slowly. The self service concept of where they weigh your food and then you pay is cool, NO WASTE. Add a nicely done low lit interior with large windows and plenty of outdoor seating for smokers and non smokers and you will see why this is for me a perfect hideaway in central London. read more

Came here this past weekend for dinner before going to a comedy show nearby. I liked that its buffet style, so you're free to try whatever/however much of something that you want. The two people I were with weren't as happy with dinner as I was, and one said that the food was too bland (which I'll agree with, but since you're appealing to everyone, it's to be assumed it'll be bland). The wine I had with dinner was expensive, so I assume the markup is more with the alcohol. Peter and I stumbled upon this eatery by accident. We were scheduled to go somewhere else, however, there was a dress code not mentioned on the site or yelp, however, it ended up being a blessing in disguise cause we got to discover this great place. This is a vegetarian place with some vegan and gluten free options. The concept is that you take a plate (or boat as they call it) and pick items from the trays. Go to the cashier and weigh it. We came for dinner, therefore, we were charged 2,70 per 100g. A modest plate cost us 9 pounds. The desserts had some traditional English desserts, therefore, I was able to get a few sweet treats knocked off the bucket list. The atmosphere was a fine line between casual and semi fine dining at night without the pretentious feel. You can even order some good coffee and high end cocktails. Very friendly staff. There are two floors. Peter and I sat on the main level to get a more feel for the place but if you're feeling introverted there's a table for you down in the basement. read more

Met someone here for lunch - my first time here. After reading about it on its online site I was a little apprehensive about coming here given that I am neither vegetarian or vegan. To eat in, you grab a table and you get your food from a buffet area so serve yourself. with a variety of foods, there was a vast selection including pastas and the usual salads. The buffet style allows you to try dishes you may not have otherwise ordered which means you can have a 'safe' try without starving after ordering the wrong thing! Food is bought on weight so wise to remember this when loading up. Cost is on the more expensive side especially if you add juices to your meal as beverages and desserts. As a Vegetarian/Vegan, I expect this is a great place I would go again but cost would probably put me off a little. Maybe to take a V/V friend as a treat. Downside is that you have to leave someone at your table to 'save' it for you whilst you are getting your food. If you are the polite type of person who waits for everyone to get their food before starting, your warm stuff can start to cool a little. read more

The best way I can describe this place is that it's like a NY style deli with veggie food - paying by the weight. I really liked the huge selection of dishes - especially I like to try a little bit of everything. My favorite was the avocado tofu and the pumpkin quiche and everything was full of flavor. They have quite a good selection of desserts as well - the kheer was surprisingly good. It is a bit on the expensive side for essentially having buffet food but I noticed they regularly replace the items so it's not like it's been sitting around all day. We were wandering around London, stopping at every restaurant we came across to read their menu. This place didn't have a menu outside, so we popped in to have a look. They have a huge buffet and the ambiance was nice. A server came up and was asking us if it was our first time there and started explaining what to do, and he said everything was vegetarian. EVERYTHING. Score! They had such interesting stuff, and it all tasted very fresh. You get a plate and get whatever you want, then go to the bar and they weigh your stuff and you get your utensils and drink. Even our 3 year old liked the food. And, if the food wasn't enough of a draw, downstairs they have a kid's play area, complete with chalkboard and toys, and couches for the parents. Good things are : - Vegetarian place that does not look too vegan, and it is rare in the city. - location : right in the center where you end up spending a lot of time, and where finding a spot where you can actually come in with no reservation is hard to find. - concept : a food bar where you make your plate and pay per weight, like at Whole Foods - a nice selection of dishes AND you also have access to a full bar (see the vegan that does not look too vegan point) - and the food was good. Lots of salads, already cooked meals etc. It is very casual and you end up paying a bit too much for such a casual spot, though it is such a nice alternative to everything around that area that it deserves the 4 stars. I really liked Tibits but they lost a star for price. The place is great with a choice of ordering off the menu or the buffet. I piled my plate with what I thought would fill me and it came to £12 - it didn't feel like £12 worth of food I have to admit. I really like the idea and I realle want them to succeed but the cost is so high I guess because of the location I might think twice before coming back. Love this place! They're an all vegetarian and super vegan friendly buffet spot in London, near the Piccadilly Circus subway station. Everything I have had there is spot on, from the salad items, savory dishes, and pudding (dessert). Every time we are in London, we make sure to stop by at least once or twice. Many people have remarked that Tibits is a little on the expensive side, and I have to say that I agree with them. However, you clearly get what you pay for and the food is delicious. The restaurant operates a self-service veggie buffet and vegetarian or not you're spoiled for choice. Hot food is placed on the top of the buffet, with a selection of salads at the bottom. Although I got stuck in and tried pretty much everything - I have to particularly recommend the cheesy jalapenos, the South Indian curry and the fantastic cheese quiche - yes, it's the sort of place where you can mix curry and quiche and not feel bad about it! Tibits also has a fantastic selection of home-cooked deserts, I had apple pie with lashings of cream, while my partner selected a slice of baked cheesecake - also heavy on the cream. Tibits is licensed and sells a selection of cocktails, but their homemade ginger lemonade was worth going sober for. I'm not a vegetarian, but my Dad is so I'll definitely take him here next time he comes to London - maybe then he can foot the bill! read more

Tibits has a great selection of vegetarian and many vegan foods to choose from their 40 hot and cold dishes. We paid by the gram and both cleaned our plates because it was all delicious! I had a few cold salads like a sesame chickpea dish, a lemon couscous, roasted veg pasta and onion rings! Everything was labeled too. We even had a few vegan desserts (aka puddings) to choose from! Using coconut milk, they made panacotta and two different fruit mousses. And also a sticky toffee pudding with dates. I didn't realize they were a veggie award winner until we got there! Closes quite early though (9pm), and some dishes may no longer be available shortly before that. I am not a vegetarian but I still enjoyed the food. Plenty of selection and yes it is a little pricey but as you pay for how much you put on your plate you only have yourself to blame. Good location and a great place for lunch especially when it is hot outside as it's not too heavy so you can still enjoy the rest of the day without the need for a nap. Again very tasty food and this is from a non-veg. I would definitely visit again. A little warning though as it's not a table service place if you are going alone with lots of bags this may not be the best place. You will need a friend to look after your items and go up and get your food one at a time. read more

Tibits is a vegetarian restaurant bar that offers take-away or eat-in. I think it is a great original idea. There is buffet of hot and cold vegetarian food and you serve yourself - as much as you want. Then you weight your plate and pay. Every dish is tagged, the presentation is clean and the options interesting (vegetable tartar, different kinds of hummus, falafel, tofu, lentils...). It is not the usual and boring tomatoes, cucumber, and spinach leaves salad bar. Beware this is not an "all you can eat buffet" where you pay one price and can go back as many times as you want. Stars off for the price and the organisation of the place: -I know I know what can I expect, this place is right off Regent's St near Piccadilly Circus, aka THE tourist area, but for a food bar prices are a bit high. Pretty sure you can get same portions for around the same price or less at Whole Foods right down the street. I guess this place is not the best option if you are very hungry. -By the organisation I mean the way the buffet is structured. There is one buffet with cold food and hot food together and it would be much better to split them into two buffets to make the choices clearer and the area less crowded. Detail: dinner prices are a bit higher than lunch. So many it is a better lunch option. In a nutshell: a meat-eater would be happy and satisfied for a meal.
