    Melody saying her goodbyes

The nurses were awesome. Even when they had to inform me that it wasn't time for some of my meds to be given. They did it with care and compassion. I in turn shared with them that the majority of the clients here are in some form of pain whether its mental, physical, or spiritual. Its their job to advocate for themselves, so do not get raddled by a raised voice. Because its your job to advocate for all of us. You know your job. You're trained well otherwise you wouldn't be here doing what you love. I see you, I hear you and most of all Iappreciated you Love Melody Brown Hatchett

I increased from 1-3 stars , because my mother really liked the physical therapist and therapy. She was still unhappy with staffing level at night, noise etc, so we moved her. Staff was very helpful with move.

I have emailed and spoken directly with Sara, Leslie, and another administrator, and absolutely nothing was resolved. This public reply from Lily is purely to save face for the business. If you truly took these concerns seriously, your leadership team would have addressed them when I brought them to you directly, rather than leaving a vulnerable stroke patient without basic assistance.

The facility billed my 101-year-old uncle $1,425, claiming he had remained two days beyond his Medicare-covered stay. However, a Kaiser-affiliated physician had extended his stay for an additional two days of observation after he returned from the Kaiser Walnut Creek Emergency Department. What should have been a simple correction became a lengthy ordeal. Despite numerous phone calls, emails, letters, and other communications with both Kaiser and the facility, neither organization initially acknowledged that the physician had authorized the extension. The matter remained unresolved for more than three years, including an extensive complaint process with the California Department of Public Health. Although the Department initially did not substantiate my complaint, it later reversed course and ultimately confirmed that my complaint was substantiated. Sadly, my uncle passed away in May 2024 at the age of 103 before the matter was fully resolved. More than three years after the disputed charges were incurred, Kaiser finally paid the $1,425 bill. While I received verbal apologies from Kaiser, I never received any acknowledgment or apology from the facility. In my view, no family should have to spend years correcting what should have been a straightforward billing error involving an elderly patient

Getting her medication adjusted was tough, but the staff really stuck with her. The CNA's always came when requested. The nursing staff was professional and kind. The deciding factor was simple but important: Rossmoor felt like a true medical care facility, while the other location felt more like a modern senior or retirement center. Given my father's condition, he needed real medical care--not just a nice environment--and Rossmoor clearly fit that need. From the very beginning, the level of service exceeded my expectations. Steve Stock, the General Manager, was outstanding. He gave me his mobile number and told me to text him anytime if something came up. That alone speaks volumes. I did my best not to reach out unless it was truly necessary, but whenever I did, he addressed every issue promptly and thoroughly. Not a single request was missed. I honestly don't know how he stays so organized, but he does--and it shows. One thing that really mattered to us was consistency with medications, and Rossmoor delivered. All medications were always administered correctly and on time, without exception. That level of reliability brought a lot of peace of mind. The food was also decent--better than expected for a medical facility--and whenever there was an opportunity to make things a little better or more comfortable, the staff consistently went the extra mile. The staff across the board were excellent. Every single person we interacted with was professional, kind, and clearly well trained. Special thanks to nurses Nadia, Carly, Roxanne, Marielle, and Gia--each one was outstanding and made a difficult time much easier for our family. The PT and OT staff were also fantastic--thank you Erica for your patience and care. Thanks to the laundry staff and the front desk team as well; their work doesn't go unnoticed. Bottom line: I highly recommend Rossmoor Post Acute to anyone who needs true post-acute medical care. Our experience there gave us peace of mind during a very stressful time, and for that I'm extremely grateful.

This is a very mixed review. I would give Gene, the nurse…read morefrom the first floor a 10star. This man is so caring and amazing. My dad was there for several weeks and Gene knew my dad wasn't comfortable with female nurses bathing him. So whenever a female nurse was assigned to bathe my dad, Gene would volunteer to take my dad on top of the patients he was assigned to that day. Not many people volunteer to take on extra work. We are so grateful to him and this made it so much easier for my dad to bathe regularly. Otherwise he would refuse to bathe if it was a female nurse. Gene always greeted us with a smile. For patients, it's so important to see a smiling face when in a facility like this. God bless Gene and his kind heart. Another nurse who was hired towards the end of my dad's stay- (I don't remember his name but I remember he was from Afghanistan). He too was so kind and caring. He would check on my dad noticeably more than what we were used to, and hewas so attentive. It felt like he was family. The downside: They don't have an after hour number to call. You call the main number and NO ONE ever picks up. Once I was on FaceTime with my dad around 10:45pm while he was at this facility. He began having a seizure during our call. Between my husband and I, I think we called maybe 60-70 times from 10:45-4am. No one answered. We were out of state so we couldn't just drive over. Even if you drive over, at that time the front doors are locked and you call the same number for them to open the door... so if they aren't answering, it didn't matter if you are outside or not. I came back to CA the next day because I was so worried about my dad. I brought this to the attention of the nurses and was told that they don't have another after hour number to give me. They said they would leave a message for their supervisor to call me back... no one ever called me back despite me following up several times. My dad could have fallen off his bed and really hurt himself that night... and not being able to get through is a major concern and consideration if we ever need to put my dad in a rehab facility again. This is why I'm giving it a 2 star because not being able to get through to a nurse is concerning and puts patients at risk. We were lucky that nothing happened to my dad when he had his seizure but I basically didn't sleep that night and flew back the next morning at 6:30am, which could have been avoided if I was able to get through to someone when I called (& my dad didn't answer the phone either (because his phone had dropped to the floor) which made us think of the worst possible scenario). If something had happened to my dad, they would have been 100% liable, therefore, I just don't understand the reason behind it having an emergency number to call the nurses after hours... or make sure someone is assigned to the phones at all times. I doubt during the time all patients are supposedly sleeping, why phones aren't answered as nurses are more likely to be sitting at the desk than all of them being with patients the entire time (from 10:45pm-4am). Another issue is the constant ringing sound which is patients trying to get the nurses attention. I don't know how they sit there and just ignore the ringing for hours. The you hear people screaming for help which is very hard to witness. It is very concerning that patients can be yelling for help and no one shows up for a while. I know brings nurses at such facility is a very difficult job but these patients are basically relying on the nurses... as some can't even get out of bed by themselves. I am writing this because no supervisor or anyone ever got back to me. Hopefully this will bring it to their attention.
