Strongly caution those interested in using their services to only move forward if they truly aren't guilty. My offense was a red light ticket and the defense prepared was underwhelming and ultimately I was found guilty. To make matters worse their marketing that you have nothing to lose is misleading. The refund they offered was a mere $40 when I paid a total of $198. $30 was removed from the refund because of the sales discount I received when I signed up. They said I could take traffic school for free at no additional cost but I had to pay the Court a fee for traffic school, which was $64. A $500 ticket ended up costing me $733. So, moral of the story- you are better off paying the ticket if in fact you did commit the violation because otherwise you will be paying significantly more. read more

Steve Miller and his company TicketBust gave me the worst experience a customer of any business can possibly get: (1) I got absolutely nothing for the money I paid; (2) I now have to suffer additional pain and annoyance to enforce their own refund policy. TicketBust failed to get my ticket dismissed (or my fine reduced, or my point taken off) but as their website says everywhere, they have a money back guarantee. FALSE. There is no money back guaranteed from this guy. Steve Miller himself informed me by email that my case was closed and he can't do anything for me. He didn't mention anything about my "money back." When I replied asking about it, Steve said he has to "review my file" and this will take weeks, even though Steve is the one who just gave me the final update on my ticket. Nowhere in the "money back guarantee" portion of the website does it mention Steve's refund review process. Also, Steve's claim of "we beat your ticket or your money back" is a lie. At most you will get back $100 out of $250. And that's only after Steve Miller conducts a multi-week review of your file to unearth any possible reason to not give you a refund. To any reasonable person who is minimally conversant in English, the phrase "Money Back Guarantee" means you are guaranteed to get back the money you paid if the service is not provided. To Steve Miller, "Money Back Guarantee" means you might possibly get 40% back, maybe. Steve keeps commenting below that the true "partial refund" terms of the guarantee are on his website. So why doesn't Steve just clearly say "Partial Refund POSSIBLE of only $100 out of 250" instead of burying it in a PDF doc? Why does Steve put "MONEY BACK GUARANTEE" on the website in big letters and advertise the company everywhere with "we beat your ticket or your money back." Feel free to explain, Steve. UPDATE: Steve denied my $100 refund even though I complied 100% with every thing I was asked to do by TicketBust. I've filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and disputed the charge with my credit card. UPDATE #2: This company is no longer rated by the Better Business Bureau because they're under review. I was NOT told that the second set of paperwork would be an in court trial. As I mentioned though, it was in the paperwork and I did miss it. I don't know why people arbitrarily bash businesses on Yelp. The problem with Yelp is there is no check/balance system, anyone can say anything with zero consequence, and as a business owner I find it unfair. TicketBust has been nothing but helpful and courteous to me, and has saved me lots of time dealing with a corrupt traffic system: I know there are administrative courts, criminal courts and civil courts - in criminal and civil courts an injured party must exist in order for an alleged aggrieved party to have a "Valid Cause of Action"; and yet when one asks the commissioner "Exactly what kind of court are we in?" they'll dance around a direct answer and ultimately say "This is Traffic Court". Sorry -- but I don't know of any "traffic code of procedure", in which to defend myself, and you're trying to say I've committed some kind of quasi-criminal/civil action - pick one, which is it? In criminal court one must prove willful intent to bring harm to person and/or property, and in civil court there needs to be some kind of alleged action in which a person and/or property was injured and/or damaged - and in which there can be a remedy.... Yet you want to say somehow by going 5 miles over the limit or making a turn on a "no right turn" signal I've somehow "damaged / injured" the People of the State of...? Get real. I usually can get myself out of a traffic ticket. I understand about the Transportation Code, I know that the code only applies to Commercial Drivers, and 99.9% of traffic stops are completely bogus and revenue generating for the corporation that doubles as "The City of..." or "The State of..." I've successfully challenged the jurisdiction of the police department, as well as the NTA which in reality is an unenforceable contract, as it is made under duress and under the threat of having ones vehicle seized and/or being taken to jail. That being said, sometimes I don't have the energy in which to fight within the Kangaroo Traffic Court, in which they use commissioners (instead of real judges) to shove ordinances and statutes down your throat, even if you are successfully citing case law and judicial precedent. Anything to keep that revenue machine going. There have been two times now that I've successfully used TicketBust because I didn't have the time/energy to go through the motions or challenge the contract or bother setting foot in that joke of a courtroom... and in both times they've gotten me out of a $555 ticket and a $238 ticket. I drive a lot, so my odds are a lot higher than my friends that I will invariably make a move while traveling in my car that will incite the wrath of a police officer (thinking they're doing their job: Making a legal determination at the time of the "custodial arrest" that I've committed some crime, and ultimately serving as the "arresting officer", the "witness", the "complaining party", and in the wonderful State of CA - "the prosecution" --- yeah, that's not a joke). I wasn't worried about getting my Trial by Declaration shot down, since a) one can always fight it again using the Trial de Novo option and b) if you really don't like hassling with it, TicketBust includes the price of online Traffic School if you just want to keep the thing off of your record. I recommend you check them out, *but* you need to follow their directions, submit your paperwork to the proper location at the proper time (don't cast blame on TicketBust if you neglect to follow all of the steps in a timely manner) , and then realize that ultimately it's up to the magistrate or commissioner as to how they feel like ruling on your case. And you'd also do well to understand how jurisdiction works, and that in most cases if you start arguing the "facts" or the "merits" of a case, it comes down to "he said/she said", and the system will nearly always side with the officer, and you'll lose. Remember that in our society, there is something called "Fair Exchange", and people need to be paid for their time/effort. Good for the folks @ TicketBust if they have developed a system that beats a large majority of tickets, and as such they should be compensated for developing that system; and if you choose to roll the dice with this potential solution consider how much your time is worth per-hour. Remember - the courts are making decisions based on "opinion", and those opinions can and will change depending on who is making the determination. I challenge the system out of principle and will continue to do so, and I look at every situation as another piece of education, so I'm not concerned that I nearly spent as much on TicketBust as the ticket might have cost me. But it was dismissed AND I don't have to hassle with DMV or insurance nailing me with "points". It was nice to see the dismissal come in the mail today, and I wanted to say Kudos to TicketBust for once again saving me time and hassle. You guys rock! read more

They tried with my cellphone ticket, which was a pretty easy and straightforward ticket to do; however, they failed, and I was still charged and paid the fine. Scam A third party Ticket Bust uses to solicit business (GetOff.com or something similar) called me and assured me that I'd be eligible for trial by written declaration. I pointed out that I am in receipt of a court date to which appearance is mandatory. I uploaded this document for them to review. They were happy to take my money and I suspect nobody looked at my documents since. I received instructions to download my written declaration and stumbled across their disclaimers during that process stating that I would not be eligible for a trial by written declaration. I think that may have been lucky since it allowed me to never download the declaration and dispute the charges. However, had I not stumbled across that I probably would have been out $200. I think these guys are out to make a sale at all cost, whether they can actually help you or not. read more
