I called for a consultation and they proceeded to dupe me into providing my credit card number over the phone, saying that it was necessary to create my account profile and send me additional information. They indicated that I would need to sign and send back a credit card authorization form, along with my documents to initiate service. I was under the impression that initiation of service was dependent upon my completion of the documents and signature to authorize charges. I reviewed the documents they sent, spoke with a friend of mine who is a lawyer, and then decided not to use their services. A few days later I discover a charge for $249 on my AMEX. I never signed anything, and I certainly did not agree electronically (via their website) to any terms and conditions, or any charges to my card. Now I am in an ongoing battle with them and AMEX to have the unauthorized charges removed. Apparently their scheme is to coerce you to provide credit card details, and then they claim that you authorized the charge by virtue of the fact that you provided your credit card number in the first place. Nice bait and switch maneuver. Now they are saying that I am not entitled to a refund, because of their terms and conditions, when they never had any right to charge my card in the first place. They have provided no service other than to take some basic information over the phone, including my credit card number. Unethical and shady. Avoid at all costs. UPDATE: AMEX did successfully reverse the charges but it took quite a bit of follow up and proactive communication on my part. It ends up taking months because of the dispute process. read more

This is my first review as I am making it a small goal in life to make sure no one else does business with this company. Stephen F Miller there manager did a terrible job. I was in constant communication with them after hiring them because of their "money back guarantee." After hiring them for my speeding ticket which the cop did not have a speed radar or laser but guaged my speed on visualization not only did I still have to go back to court but I was still found guilty and then they did not even honor their guarantee citing that I did not get some paperwork to them which they did not even request, which seems very convenient now. Save your money get a lawyer or just paty the ticket yourself. I have talked to others and not one other customer was provided with their money back. read more

OKAY IF YOU WANT TO TAKE A $250 GAMBLE, BUT DON'T EXPECT ANY MONEY BACK IF YOU LOSE. IF you happen to win your case, you'll be satisfied. But don't believe them when they quote only 10% of people getting their money back through the guarantee. That might be true because it is very DIFFICULT to get your money back, but it implies that the other 90% win their cases and that part is definitely untrue. Just an FYI that it's a bit of a crap shoot, so if you're willing to part with $250 on the maybe 50-50 chance of the ticket being overturned, go for it, but don't expect any money back if you lose. As an aside, you could submit the same form yourself with likely the same odds of success, and you get to keep your $250. (I included the link at the bottom of my review.) PROBLEMS WITH THE TICKETBUST GUARANTEE: 1) They only guarantee $100 of the $250 fee anyway (the other $150 is for "processing"). 2) If you lose, you have to submit new paperwork to them within 10 days of the court mailing it to you, which is REALLY DIFFICULT even though it sounds easy. That's because the 10 days INCLUDES the mailing time from the court to you, and from you to Ticket Bust. i.e. Court mailed the guilty sentence to me 3/24, I RECEIVED 3/29, requested the new paperwork from Ticket Bust 3/30 and completed it, MAILED at the post office the morning of 4/1, unfortunately the post office did not deliver until 4/5 so they said we are not eligible for the guarantee. (They would have needed to receive it 10 days after 3/24 which is 4/3 Sunday, so actually 4/2 Saturday). It's not the postmarked date; it's whenever Ticket Bust receives it. 3) In order to be eligible for the guarantee, you have to agree to PERSONALLY APPEAR IN COURT - that's what the follow up paperwork is, a request to appear for an in person trial. Essentially you have to take time off work to go to court in order to qualify for the $100 back, so of course most people just forego the guarantee. It might be worth it if your ticket is overturned, but don't make the decision based on their guarantee which is devious at best. I'd say do it yourself for free and the odds are probably similar, or if you want someone who knows the legal loopholes, you'd be better off hiring an attorney than TicketBust. I got a carpool ticket. TickrtBust beat the ticket I got my money back with no points on my driving record.They are the best.

It's a huge waste of your money to use this company. Fight the ticket yourself. Apparently, if you just go in and ask for a lesser charge you have a pretty good chance of getting it reduced. They also operate under 3 different business names, which is highly suspicious and another reason I should have just stayed away. I am extremely displeased with how misled I was by this company. The ticket was not dismissed, and I knew the stipulations for receiving a refund were incredibly strict and rigid, so I followed up with the company NUMEROUS times to ensure I was adhering to the guidelines correctly to remain eligible. Each time they told me I was still eligible and was doing fine towards getting some of my money back (they only refund $100 of the $249 btw). I even called from the courthouse to make sure I was doing the correct thing to get my money back and they said I was. Well, I ultimately lost the case, still have the ticket fees, and now TB is saying I am ineligible for a refund. I'm not writing this review because they won or lost a case for me, but because I feel this company (and Steve Miller in particular) has some pretty fraudulent business practices that I think everyone needs to be aware-of. If you remember only one thing from reading this review, remember that Steve Miller will straight-up lie to you on the phone, and he is very devious and will not send any e-mails except a credit card receipt. Some of the reviews on this page were written by Ticket Busters, maybe even Steve himself. He also knows the Credit Card system very well, even better than the customer service representatives that you will speak with at the the credit card companies. Under no circumstances should you provide your credit card number to him. He'll tell you that it's just to "complete your profile in his system", but the instant he has your information, he'll charge your card, with or without your explicit authorization. That's how he got me. After chatting with Steve on the phone, he tells me that he needs my credit card information so he can send over a credit card charge authorization form, and that no charges or work will occur until I send these authorization documents to him with my signature. Sounds above-board, right? I didn't sign anything, or explicitly authorize anything, or even really get any services from him (he sent me a bunch of forms that I already had). I send him a very specific e-mail that says I'm no longer interested in his services and to purge his system of my credit card information. 2 minutes later, I get a credit-card receipt in my e-mail, confirming that $249.00 had been charged to my card. I immediately call him to discuss why he had charged my card, and he said that it was a mistake and to call back after lunch to confirm that he had refunded the amount to my card. I call back at 2:00P and guess what... no refund... Steve has already left for the day, would you like his Voicemail? 2 months later, my credit card company can't help me, but they issued me a courtesy credit for being a long-time customer. read more

I had them contest two of tickets. I was found guilty on both of them, ordered to pay the full fine, lost my option for traffic school, and had two points added to my driving record. Beware of the money back guarantee! If you are found guilty (and you most likely will be), you will have to request a new trial and plead your case in court. So when I called TB, they very casually with no stress at all said "oh, the court wants you to resubmit your paperwork (thats what it means when they dont cash your check immediately) oh really, so how come when i submitted originally, TB said, chill, it will take 90 days before you hear from the court and...they totally take their time cashing checks! I wanted to update -- I got notice from my bank that I won't be getting any of my money back. He messaged me after my 1st review saying that he's willing to help. I'm sure he's only willing to help take more money. My bank showed me a screenshot of the "check box" I ticked YET I didn't provide them the information online I want to make sure that I convey this -- He's done nothing, he wrote on this little piece of paper saying that he sent me mail, WHICH HE DID NOT. Not sure what all the negative reviews are about, but I followed the instructions provided and today received notification that my ticket had been dismissed due to failure to prosecute. Don't give them your Credit Card Number to see their contract: If they get it they will charge you $243.00 just for looking at it. After reading it - just know you have been had. CANCELLATION POLICY ALERT!!! Once your payment is processed, there's no cancellation allowed. Of course, NO REFUND neither. I called them within an hour to cancel my order after the processing. Per California Business and Professional Code 6410(e)., consumers only have 24 hours to cancel services from Legal Document Assistants. I did called and they refused to cancel. I dispute my payment from Credit Card and then they insisted I DIDN'T cancel. If you're doing such a good job helping people as you said, why do you make the cancellation policy so ridiculous? And why did you make the refund so limited? The reason I cancelled was because after I read the details, they only give you PARTIAL REFUNDS when they failed to dismiss your ticket. And according to other victims, the refund policy was painful and most of the time don't get their money back. On the other hand, I didn't check the boxes on the forms or did the electronic signature they provided because before I finish the process online your sales representative called me and did everything through the phone. After the order was made, I changed my mind within the same hour and called to cancel and she said no with an ice-cold voice. I didn't even agree on those boxes to be checked because she didn't go through the terms on the phone. What she told me was to make sure I sign the forms that will be sent to me later. If they said they logged me on the database, please show evidence. I didn't sign anything electronically and certainly I can call this a fraud. Yeah they can say everything was on the terms. But I was NOT shown all these terms ON THE PHONE but they processed the payment ON THE PHONE. Certainly some people who got their ticket dismissed would thank them. However, it's not about whether the ticket was dismissed or not, it's about the way they do their business. This is definitely not an honest business. If they are professional, just simply list all the fees upfront, and how much refund the customer can get and how long it takes. We won't blame them if they fail and we take our risk. Tricking people into sign up and give them lame excuses about the refund policy and cancellation policy is just by going around the rules. Legally, we can't challenge them much. The people that answer the phone are always rude; the procedures and followup work is sloppy, and I would have been much safer just paying the court without using their system. They are using no special tricks of the trade; its a standard letter and submission form you can do yourself; and they somehow 'lost' photos that needed to get turned in and so I ended up getting a guilty charge because of their mistake. **I had a speeding violation on a freeway where the officer claimed to have clocked me but when I asked for a copy number, he then admitted he didn't have it. Worthless and useless - the other Yelpers really got this place right and I regret not checking here before contacting them to fight my red light camera ticket. There numbers look very impressive on their website but don't fall for it. The woman on the phone said they pay out less than 10% refunds on red light tickets which is their measure for if the customer was successful. This is not the same as a 90% success rate after you see how their refund policy works. After receiving my ticket in the mail, I called to inquire about their service. They get all your info and charge your credit card before they really get into details about how they fight your ticket. Bad sign #1. Thinking that a company that has done this so many times must really know what they are doing, I went with them over the several solicitations from attorneys that had a 100% money back guarantee (here you only get $100 if you are lucky). I didn't pay for any of the 'extra' services like overnight mailings for an additional $15 on top of the $249 they already charged since I had 6 weeks before my court date. Thankfully they did mail it on time (barely), but it was denied and I was found guilty. I wrote them asking for a refund immediately since I was their refund policy was 10 days from the date written on the verdict from the court. With mailings, you better mail this to Ticketbust the same day as you get it back from the court if you want a chance at their refund. Well sure enough, they resubmitted it to the courthouse for a new face-to-face trial instead of issuing a refund. If you request, they will email you a PDF file for suggestions when you go to court, and they did send me a copy of what they submitted to the court in my trial by declaration. I was very anxious to see what they wrote to the court since their expertise is what I was paying for. What they actually submitted to the court was a form letter that had nothing to do with my case! As I kept reading, I didn't find anything unique to my situation which I described in detail to them twice. Essentially they cite issues with maintenance, signage and photo evidence, but nothing related to what I thought was the crux of my argument, danger of getting rear-ended with a fast brake. This is what you bought for your $249 - a form letter drafted by some first year law student citing examples of why a few of these tickets have been dismissed in other courts. If I didn't have ethics, I'd open a competing website and charge people $199 for the same stupid form letter these guys are peddling since this has to be a huge money maker for someone. In the end, I went to court, faced the officer and....WON MY CASE. No, not from some well articulated argument I gleaned from watching reruns of 'Good Will Hunting,' but only because the cop forgot to bring along the right CD with my video footage. Being the first to review these guys, and at the top of the yelper review list, I get messages every now and again from angry yelpers claiming that I'm a shill. I can assure you I'm not a shill for Ticketbusters (or anyone else for that matter). I appreciate yelpers trynig to keep Yelp honest, that's what makes this service work, but I'm the wrong guy for this particular persecution. I will say this for the record: 1) I have no vested interested in Ticketbusters. I do not hold any equity, I have no profit sharing or revenue sharing arrangement of any kind. I've met them exactly once, when they wrote my first Trial by Dec. I don't hang out with them, go to the bar with them, get Christmas cards from them, or even remember any of their names. Presumably I am not in their circle of trust. I have not friended their Facebook (or Google+) page. I do not play Words with Friends with them. 2) I have not used Ticketbusters in many years (note the date of my review). Perhaps their service has gone to shit recently, I don't know. If you want more reading about places that I once loved going to shit, please pop a bag of popcorn and read my review of Sushi Mon on 3rd. 3) I get many less tickets now than I used to, but back when then man had it out for me, I did a lot of research on the matter. I had written Trial by Dec's before coming to Ticketbusters, only one out of a couple were found not guilty. Since then, I've had much, much better luck writing my own Trial by Dec's. Most people don't bother to deveolp a strategy for this - I think they expect Ticketbusters to be "magic" and make their moving violation go away. There is no gray area here - literally guilty / not-guilty. The guys that are found guilty write scathing reviews. Ticketbusters is not magic beans, unicorn blood, or leprechaun pants. They are (were/) a service that did exactly what they advertised. Like any pay-to-play service, if you find yourself using them often, or not liking their service, do it yourself! I was soooo nervous but they were cheaper than hiring a lawyer and to be honest it was the best fighting chance I could afford. Total SCAM. They claim to refund your $99 check if they don't get your ticket dismissed but the multiple step process makes it impossible (obviously by design). My ticket would have been the easiest to get dismissed: using cell phone while driving. While I was on the phone I had used hands free as my phone was in my briefcase in the back-hatch area of my SUV. Now we're trying to find out if there is a warrant -- because this happened to a friend of our using the same service. Pay the ticket, fight the ticket on your own or go to traffic school. They tell you everything you want to hear and when it came time for a refund, they make you jump through hoops and then they deny on the basis of a missed deadline. I sent my info in plenty of time, but somehow, suspiciously, they said they didn't get it till one day after that deadline. How convenient! I changed my mind ONE HOUR after deciding to use them - (my fault, I did not read the reviews first) I called them right back and said I wanted to back out and they told me i could not back out nor have a refund, and that we were in a "verbal contract" over the phone. If I wanted to get my money back, I would have had to take them to small claims court. Mind you, this was WELL before they even started work on my "case." Let's start with the fact that I HAD TO DO ALL THE LEGWORK! Hours and hours of my time. Now I have to go to court anyway for a retrial. The day it was due in court I had to go out to Westlake to their offices, take the day off work of course, to pick up the Trial by Declaration, which wasn't even ready when I arrived, because they FORGOT to do it! Although they had MONTHS! It took them almost an hour to get it ready, the few girls sitting in a room who knows who they are or what their credentials are, to write it. Then they didn't even know what I was supposed to do with it? I had to figure that out on my own. WHAT DID I PAY FOR ANYWAY? THEN I HAD TO DRIVE TO THE COURT TO DELIVER IT, another two hours. Finally getting a GUILTY verdict because of the lame last minute declaration they wrote!? Insurance up almost $1000 a year and I could have gone to traffic school since I haven't had a ticket in 10 years, all this because a friend was working there and I was trying to support their new job. Not only should you never hire Ticket Busters, you should never even requests info from them or give them your phone number! I was researching traffic ticket fighting services & I requested more info from a few companies including ticketbust.com. After filling out their form on their web site, I received a generic email that looked like it was designed by a 6th grader on the 1996 version of MS Word. I knew right then I did NOT want to hire this company. I deleted their email & moved on to the next. Then their girls started calling me & leaving the same voicemail message over & over & over again! They called me at least 3 times a week for over a month. Finally, after all these calls & more awful emails, I responded to one of their emails explaining to them that my complete lack of communication meant that I was NOT INTERESTED!! I have never in my life seen a business that were such crooks as TicketHitman. Some businesses I feel like I just have to cut my losses and write it off as a bad experience, but this business in just in the business to scam their customers and I can't let that go. They push me so far that I want to take them to small claims court just for the principle. Here is why: 1. When seeking for representation to fight my driving ticket, I regrettably found Tickethitman whom were quick to call and advise they could represent me with 100% money back guarantee. They very pushy to get credit card information and gave me forms same day to fill out ensuring my ticket was winnable and would be sent right out. 2. When all paperwork was completed and sent off to Ticketman immediately because I knew this stuff was time sensitive, and once confirming my documents were received, I thought I could sit back and rest - that was definitely not the case. 3. I asked the representative (whom by the way had no customer service etiquette) whether I needed any type of documentation from the court house. They said ensured me no. Only to find later when I completed my packet, they asked me for specific paperwork I could only obtain from going to the courthouse. I had to get off work to get the paperwork to send to them. 4. I received a letter from the DMV advising they'd suspend my license due to non-payment (meaning they never received my paperwork). When I called in asked them where my paperwork they said they sent it regular mail and it must have gotten lost. They then asked me to pay additional $14.95 certified mail. At the point I had no choice as I needed the paperwork to reach the courthouse ASAP. 5. Once denied several months later and asking Tickethitman to reimburse me as they lost my case, they told me I would need to fill out refund request paperwork. Refund request paperwork? Really? Whatever... I did as I was told. Never received response back. Several weeks later when I asked where my refund was they said they didn't get paperwork. Really? I faxed it to you twice. I scanned and faxed. Several weeks later I receive an email from them saying I did not follow their procedure and the allotted time for a refund has passed. Not eligible. OMG...really? All in all... a lot of excuses with this place. Everything I tried to do in a timely manner, they blame it on documents being lost or they didn't receive paperwork. It's a lose lose situation with them. And the supervisor Nicole was so rude and was putting blame on me as if I did something wrong. I have several email from my end reaching out to them to prove it, and believe when I say I won't go away quietly.... It's one of the business that try to make money on people and never really provide a service and make them sign paperwork to ensure they don't get their money back. They think they can get away with this.... WATCH. (and don't let the 5 star reviews on the internet fool you... all those profiles are accounts with only one review written. Who u think is giving them 5 stars? FRAUD) and response to owners comment: wow. posted this less then 5 minutes and received the quickest response from Tickethitman I had this entire time. Wish I got that type of service when I was trying to follow up regarding my case. The owner calling me negligent? Is that really your response? your 5 star reviews are real.? Let the yelpers decide... I don't think you give credit people can sniff out ur bull*******..
