Absolutely loved our meal here! Reservations are extremely tricky. You can make them online, but they are available once it is 2 months in advance at midnight Barcelona time. I was on their website exactly then and was able to make a 10pm reservation. After that, it was fully booked for the day. Service was pleasant and attentive. The place feels very casual. Doesn't feel dressy or formal, which makes it more comfortable in my opinion. We did the "chefs choice" option which is where they keep serving you dishes until you tell them you're nearing full, so they wrap up the courses. If you do want something in particular you could let the server know. It was really hard to decided what all to get, which is why we just left it up to them to decide. We had about 10 or so items and 3 desserts. Loved the creative ways things were prepared. Quality of ingredients was also great. They also had the best sangria compared to all the other ones I've had during my entire 2 weeks in Spain. It's the least "watered" down. I really wish we had more room in our stomachs because the desserts were also super good! I would've loved to try more. Didn't know how much the bill would come out to be, but to our surprise, it wasn't too bad for the food and experience. 210 euros for 2 people. If I could've made a second reservation on the spot, I would've wanted to eat here again during our few days in Barcelona!

Hype can be dangerous. Some places live up to it, while others fall on the sword of their own making. Thankfully, Tickets completely lived up to the hype! It actually surpassed the hype, to be fair. Sadly, we've only been able to get in once on our growing number of visits to the city, but I really can't say enough positive things about the restaurant. From the staff to the food, everything was excellent. The atmosphere is fun, and completely unpretentious, which is the best. It's casual, which may surprise some, but that really helps take a sometimes-intimidating world of gastronomy and make it relaxing. Easily the most relaxed "fancy" meal we've ever had! We allowed our server to simply pick whatever he felt would be best, and he didn't let us down! We had a wonderful variety of dishes, spanning any number of textures and flavors you could want. He answered any questions that we had, explained the dishes well, and was just a generally pleasant server with a fun attitude. I could run through the list of items that we had, but I'd just say let them pick and enjoy. The pacing is great, and they'll constantly check in to see if you want to continue or if you're too full. Again, it's a very chill place! Also, while Tickets isn't "cheap," I can say that we were amazed at how fairly-priced our meal ended up being. We've spent far more on meals in the States that weren't even close to deserving the fanfare that Tickets does. So, at the risk of making our chances of getting in even harder, I can only say that Tickets is a must-visit if you can get in, and enjoy the experience! It's worth the splurge, for sure!

Tickets. A very good meal, but honestly given the reputation I was a little underwhelmed by the creativity of the dishes (except desert, which was exceptional). Still enjoyable, and honestly I probably would've rated this very high if I hadn't gone to Disfrutar a couple days prior. It's very hard to get in - you have to book reservations two months out on Spain's time at the moment they release. When you show up, you check in and get your 'tickets' for the meal and head to your table. You can order a la carte, or have them choose a selection of dishes for you (not advertised as a tasting menu, but similar concept). We went with their choice, overall the courses were well executed and flavors were on point, but some weren't particularly exciting. Favorite courses were all of the desserts - the cheesecake, ice cream sandwich, pizza, tart and key lime pie were insanely good. For savory bites, my favorites were the olive spheres (obviously - they're most creative/innovative dish), the squid, eel and foie gras, meat on the cone, and carrot canape. Only issue with the meal for me, was the timing of courses. It started out good, but then more and more spaced as if they were dragging out the meal on purpose (which, they probably were to space out timing for the dessert room). The last few courses took what felt like forever, and by the time we got to the dessert room we wanted to go (overall, not an overly long meal maybe 3 hours, but without knowing how many courses or what the plan was it made it difficult to judge timing of everything. I would definitely come back to Tickets, but would probably want to try the other Michelin restaurants in BCN first (that are easier to get into).

#100 Yelp Review #25 of 50 world best restaurant 2017 I would like to write about my number 100 review on Tickets. This is a late review. I was there in February this year. I absolutely adored this place, and would go back to Barcelona just for this place. 10 stars for the service and food! This is one of the best dining experience that I've had. Adrià brothers are truly culinary genius! It definitely beats all the high end restaurants, Michelin star places that I've had so far in the states and Asia. Atmosphere: it is a casual circus theme. No fancy tables or chairs here, but you'd feel very excited and comfy here. However, the surprised dessert room is so pretty and cozy. I will not spoil the surprise here. Food: they can customize your menu based on what you like. I was highly satisfied with the choices I was given. The only thing I would skip is the wagyu here and get something else. Some of my personal favorites: 1. Foie with smoked eel: never had this combination before, and yet it was amazingly smooth and delicious. 2. Avocado ravioli: with crab, chipotle mayonnaise and chia seeds. It was cooked to perfection, and so intricately made.Probably the best ravioli I've had. 3. Nordic landscape: what a beautiful dish. It's like a winter wonderland with the vinegar powder. It tasted heavenly with aged beef and smoked cheese. 4. Mini airbag: cheese and caviar. Yes please! Can I get a dozen to go? 5. Cheesecake: omg. It's the best kind of cheese cake ever. It's so fresh and creamy that melt in your mouth. After having that, regular cheesecake just doesn't taste the same anymore. Tips for booking: I was not able to book two month advance. However, I checked every single day and see if there's an opening. And, I got it! So keep checking if you really want to go. I also put my name down for the waiting list and it didn't pull through. So glad that someone cancelled and we were able to snatch the reservation.

Our friend Mike M managed a major miracle - reservations here on a Saturday night. For months, we are all anticipating our dinner here so expectations were high. (And I would say that the only thing better than dinner here is dinner here with good friends!) I'll say (at least for myself) expectations were exceeded. From the moment you step past the velvet rope (it's a theater theme) to your exit from the dessert room, you'll be by turns surprised, delighted and sometimes bewildered. There's a menu but most people do the €130 tasting which includes 30 courses (5 dessert courses!). Bites started arriving quickly - in truth it was a bit overwhelming at first! Our first course was dried anchovy filet and I thought "what have I gotten myself into??" And then I ate it and every other thing put in front of me - even things I'd previously been terrified to try like sea cucumbers (filled with soprasetta, and delicious BTW). I won't detail every dish because that would be boring but there are pics below. My favorites were the manchego cheese purses, the Nordic landscape, the octopus (just amazing) and the "cheesecake desert". As was expected, most dishes were absolutely delicious and very creative. And then they rolled out the giant slab of Wagyu....which was sliced up in front of us. YUM. The dessert room is crazy fun too - there's Willy Wonka clips playing, giant berries on the ceiling and more crazy stuff coming out from the kitchen. It's a Michelin starred place so expect top-tier service that isn't at all stuffy. We watched the dessert staff play a trick on another table by getting them to "help" make a cake - after a little magic trick, a fully realized dessert appeared. Of course, you can spend hundreds on wine but you don't need to - we had a nice cava under €35 that complemented our plates perfectly. Their sommelier is a lot of fun and will definitely help you out regardless of price range. Two other things to note - if you haven't guessed, Tickets is pretty casual and doesn't take itself too seriously. Dress smart but formal clothes not needed. Also, there are a TON of women working behind the line - that makes me very happy as the chef profession can be macho. Thanks ladies, for one of the most memorable meals I've ever eaten! TWO FINGERS - ONE BITE (I've had several messages from folks looking for advice on reservations. They open up 60 days out - set your alarm because they typically fill within minutes. If you don't get in, watch for cancellations, beg your hotel concierge or show up as they open and hope to snag a bar seat. Good luck!)

Are you ready for the hottest ticket to the world's best ranked #20 restaurant? Entering the amusement park of avant-garde and contemporary food art, this @albert.adria.acosta Michelin-star concept of "La vida tapa" is an experience one will never forget. We recommend watching @chefstablenetflix Albert Adrià season 5, episode 4 to truly grasp his innovative techniques and fiery courage in pushing the limits of food. Starting with the best part - Dessert, duh! Cheesecake - served with butter cookies, this hazelnut rind is unlike any other cheesecake you've tried before. Hands-down. Lychee & Raspberry Sphere - molecular gastronomy takes this rose water gelatin bite to another level. (The rose itself is not edible) Choux w/ Coconut Popcorn, Vanilla Cream Banana & Basil - a personal favorite Pear, Nut Butter, Brioche - we're still obsessed with how everything melted together so perfectly. Stroopwaffle Ice Cream Sandwich - imagine bites of warmth & happiness Tapas: Crunchy Octopus, Picked Cucumbers Filled w/ Celery & Apple Gelatin - the tapa of the night. Absolutely delicious. Foie Gras Stuffed w/ Smoked Eel - a perfect & unique combo. Stracciatella di Bufala w/ Sea Urchin & Black Truffle - rich, fresh, aromatic. Olive-S - a delightful explosion of olive juice. Torta de Inés - we drowned, in the best way possible, in this mountain of goat, galmesan, and Payoyo cheese. Reserve at least a month in advance. Portions are mostly one bite each so don't come starving. Enter with an open mind and curious tastebuds!

Mind-blowingly interesting concepts! This World's 50 Best restaurant is not the typical formal fine dining like the others; instead, it's relaxed and fun and kitschy. Having eaten at El Celler de can Roca the night before, we appreciated the casual contrast without sacrificing the quality of the food. Our group of 5 went for lunch and had an amazing time. We opted for a la carte ordering over the tasting menu, but made sure to try all the classics and popular dishes, like avocado pizza and cheesecake. Both were hits, as well as the king crab legs which were the best, juiciest crab legs I've ever had! I'd describe most of the food as playful and tasty. Wish they had better non-alcoholic drinks though! There was no juice pairing, and the limited "healthy cocktail" menu didn't produce anything worth drinking (only two options and I didn't like either one). That was the only disappointing part of the experience. Otherwise, I definitely recommend coming here while in Barcelona.

I have to give MUCH kudos to the hubs for booking a table at Tickets. According to the hubs, the wait for a table is about two months out, and he had to check the restaurant's website at Spain's midnight to see if there were tables available and book/confirm as soon as possible. He was able to book a table for us and two of our friends who happen to be traveling in Barcelona as well. Their menu is fun and eclectic, and the atmosphere is vivacious and colorful. The staff are friendly, energetic, and seem very excited to give you a one-of-a-kind experience. You can order right off the menu, but we decided to go for the tasting menu - why not??? The most surprising bite during the entire meal was the olive. It's not really an olive, but tastes just like an olive and looks like an olive... oh, that olive... This is not to say that this was the best bite. Every bite of every plate they offered was amazingly delicious, and if you ask, the servers will bring you the menu for you to order other food items in addition to whatever is included. The hubs was severely disappointed that we didn't get to try the crab... after they served the last entree/savory dish, they asked us if we needed anything else. We were so lost in all the flavors and textures that we totally forgot to ask if we can order the crab. Big mistake. Once you tell them you're good, they whisk you off to another section of the restaurant where it's a complete different world of fruits and sweets all around. Here, they served another series of amazing desserts. This time, we made sure to ask for the menu to see if we wanted to try anything else before the last bite. We ordered the Stroopwaffle Ice Cream Sandwich, and I am SO glad we did - it was my favorite dessert at the restaurant. I fully resented the staff from holding out on us. If we ever go back to Barcelona, I know I will ask the hubs to see if we can go back!

As Out of towners that going to just spend a Weekend in Barcelona, My Yelp friend just have one request, it was to visit Tickets Bar. My phone went off right at midnight (Barcelona time) 60 days before our actual day of visit to remind me to make our reservation on line... and I was glad everything went smoothly as planned and we going to eat at Tickets Bar!! Fast forward! The experience was really memorable as I don't have a chance to experience molecular gastronomy in Toronto. We got to sit right at the bar watching all the action where the kitchen preparing all the cold dish. We shared: Tickets' olive-S Razor clams with refried sauce and lemon air Confit potatoes with Iberian cured ham and pork rib jus El Manteca" double chin "mollen "High level" Cow Tenderloin Confit artichoke with quail egg yolk and salmon roe Dessert: White chocolate and black sesame lava rock (presented on a pieces of rock) I really enjoy the playfulness and the presentation of all the dish we tried. Service was excellent and able to do 0.5/0.75 portion since we wanted to try more dish. The answer here is always yes, we can do it! This is what I mean by service! If you never been here, I would highly recommend you come to Tickets Bar and give it a try.

This is an experience. It is true that you will need to make a reservation 2 months in advance at midnight in Spain time. It was maybe worth it. The service seems to be great, but it could be better. I feel like they pushed the most expensive wine; the amount that was served by also very stingy. Also the seating could be better, we were seated at the "bar" and servers would be bumping into us to get to the other tables. We were offered a menu but we let the server give us a surprise menu, where the price is also a surprise until the end of the meal. Also, the pacing was not consistent; there was a lot of waiting between the plates...at the price they charge, I would expect that the pacing between the plates would be consistent. All in all, they do a great job with making sure your water is topped up (each time they will charge you for a bottle, we spent 10 euros in water) They will take away the plates as soon as the food is off the serving plate; the server bumped into my hand while I was literally taking the last bite off the plate. Not sure how I feel about that...I mean that's efficient, but come on. The vibe and ambiance is fun and fast-paced but it's definitely not a romantic restaurant where you have privacy. I guess it depends what you like. Every plate was explained in detail by our server and also how to eat it, so that was much appreciated. After you are whisked away to the dessert area, you are with a whole new set of staff and servers that seemed disjointed and you didn't really have the same rapport with. There was one server behind the bar that was busy making desserts, we sat there for quite awhile until someone came up and asked us how hungry we were and he put in some selections for us. I witnessed some subtle argument between the staff while they were preparing the desserts. Overall, the dessert room is a cool idea, but the level of service was inconsistent and made the experience a very very long evening. We were there for about 2.5 hours.

The service here was the best service I have ever received at a restaurant, maybe ever. Even though this is one of the top 25 restaurants in the world, there's no pretense or stuffiness at all here. Everyone seems excited to be here , both the staff and the customers themselves. I ordered food ala carte and everything I ate was delicious including the wagyu beef. When I ordered a double bourbon, they actually brought the bottle table side to pour it. Just little touches like that impressed me. The sommelier was helpful and all the servers were amazing. And then the dessert was so over the top. Just when you think you can't eat another bite, another dessert shows up in front of you. The cheesecake is THE MOST cheesy cheesecake I've ever eaten. Go here now.

In a string of Michelin starred restaurants we had been to within a week, this stood out as the place we were most likely to go back to as many times as we could if given the opportunity. The execution is amazing, yet playful. The service was exceptional and the little surprises throughout the meal added to the experience. Do yourself a favor and go for a tasting menu selected by your server, and if it's your first time, go for the complete dessert menu, this is where they truly shine.

Lives up to the hype. Although we didn't enjoy every single course, Tickets is a culinary adventure with ups and downs that both please and surprise. Like a circus show with both good and great performances, taken as a whole this was a unique, memorable, and delicious experience! We were in Barcelona for three days and unfortunately we hadn't made reservations for Tickets ahead of time. No matter, we showed up on Friday night at 7:00 pm and walked right in and got a table! We were told we had to be out by 9:15 pm, which seemed like plenty of time for us. It was not! We started with a bottle of Numanthia from Toro, which was outstanding, which moderate tannins, good structure, and deep fruit and chocolate notes. We loved it. The wine list is small, but includes some incredibly good values in the 20€ range. We started off with the tomato bread and iberico ham. The tomato bread was a bit underwhelming as we had had better bread at Paco Meralgo's the night before. The ham was outstanding, and delicious, but of course, this was a departure from the inspiring and creative dishes that Ferran Adria is known for. Our next course was the liquid olives. We found them to be a creative and fun dish, especially because they are served in an olive jar and our server pulled them out of the jar and placed them on a silver spoon in front of us. I found the novelty of biting into a liquid olive to be fun, but the olive was much too salty for my taste and I wish I had a glass of riesling to pair with this course because we each received three olives, when one was plenty for me. The third course was the creamed artichoke, which was my wife's favorite dish. The cream was a superb compliment to the fresh and beautifully ripe artichoke. The manchego cheese slice served on top of each artichoke heart added a nice dimension from a textural standpoint. A simply well balanced and tasty dish. Our fourth course was the cannelloni. This is a "must order" on the menu. A fun take on a pasta dish where not a single ounce of pasta is used here. Avocado is used for the casing and the ricotta cheese inside is actually a fish and mayonnaise salad. Topped with parsley, dollops of cream, and olive oil, this was a large serving and truly enjoyable dish. The fifth course was the fish taco, where butter lettuce was used instead of a tortilla. It was a light dish with excellent fish, but just a tiny, tiny bite. We should have ordered at least two. This course was followed by a half dozen oysters. The oysters were larger and served with olive oil caviar. I thought it was a clever touch to include the caviar, but the olive oil actually seemed to detract from the beautiful flavors of the oyster itself. I kept wondering what oyster would taste like without the olive oil. Regardless, it was a an enjoyable dish, but I wasn't quite sold on the olive oil caviar. Our last dish was the hamachi sashimi. Seven pieces of incredibly fresh and superb cuts of hamachi. This was another large and filling dish. The hamachi had been seared very lightly, which gave it a slightly firmer texture, but it was a fabulous way to end the meal. Overall we had an excellent meal at Tickets. Our server was very friendly and helpful and each course was both memorable and unique. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we ordered a second bottle of wine to continue our wonderful meal. I must say that although it's expensive, I never felt like it was over priced. The portions were large considering the format is in the spirit of molecular gastronomy. In fact many would consider Tickets a bargain from that aspect. They have really embraced the casual and fun aspect of this culinary movement. Our bill came to 200€ including two bottles of wine, which I thought was a bargain. Although I did not enjoy 100% of every course, each course was a unique take on it's typical nature and was an adventure with ups and downs, which adds to the excitement of the evening, much like a circus act. Bravo Ferran!

Best birthday dinner ever. Hard to add anything to the reviews already posted, so I'll just repeat what many have already said - this is a life changing experience food-wise. You have never eaten food like this before. I will always remember this meal, and will dream of the day I can return. Favorites included the "churros", the tuna cone, and the "pizza". But it's like choosing between all of your angelic children - every single one is to die for. Don't walk. Don't run. Just take the fastest vehicle you can find to this place. And enjoy an unbelievably amazing experience. Thank you Hermanos Adrias!!!! read more

After two months waiting we finally sat down and let us suggest from the lovely and attentive waiter different dishes. What a meal!! I loved everything, and tomorrow morning I will try to book another table to try the rest of the menu! It is not cheap, but it is an experience worth every cent. It is indeed the best restaurant in Barcelona. read more

The most amazing meal of my life. Each bite was another adventure! Our server was full of energy and extremely welcoming. We told her what we like and what we dont like and she took it from there. She brought out a series about 10 courses, each one a delicious surprise. It is extremely difficult to pick a favorite but if I had to it would be the tiny eel sandwich. It just melts in your mouth. The steak tartare bite was also delicious and the passion fruit caipirinha oyster. read more

Great atmosphere and very interesting cuisine. He plays with the food as you would expect. We tried many items but ones to not miss are the olives, baguette covered with jamon, meringue sushi, octopus, and deserts (speculus sandwich and chocolate passion fruit cake). It's definitely worth the hype and fun time. read more

The meal was creative and different although I have to admit I wasn't excited by the flavours as much as anticipated. Next time I'd be specific with my menu so hopefully I'd be more satisfied in the end. Next time I would order definitely Olives, Crostini, Tuna Belly Cone and Tiramisu. I would likely order the Tuna Belly & Sea Urchin, Orange Salad, and Artichokes. But I'd be more interested in the Tapas from the Sea/Land items such as Confit Tuna Belly, Grilled Unilateral Cooking Lobster or "High Level" Sirloin Steak. http://eatlikeushi.posthaven.com/tickets-bar-barcelona-01-2013 read more

Have an open mind this is a culinary carnival of flavors provided in the form of one-bite tapas! However if you are very hungry this may not be the place for you...tonight that is because here it is all about tasting and don't get me wrong it is pricey! Some things are good and some thing are eh tell your waiter what you like and let them surprise you although after my experience you may want to give a ballpark of what you want to spend per person. It is a mad scientists laboratory of molecular food concoctions from olives that burst in your mouth to mushroom spaghetti (my favorite) what you see might not be what you are eating ...cauliflower cous cous, gazpacho made with jelly, powdered vinegar ... The list goes on take a chance and book a ticket to ride.... read more

Wow wow wow what an experience we had at Tickets. If you managed to get thru their complicated reservation system and pass the velvet ropes you are treated to an really amazing dining experience. Tickets was #1 on our restaurant list when we were planning our Barcelona trip. I won't get into that process because the system pretty much failed us and I was almost going to give up, but luck prevailed and I managed to score 2 reservations on two different days. We came twice during our week stay in Barcelona because it was that good. Make sure you have your reservation secured 60 days in advance to the day of your visit, or show up before it opens as I witnessed them letting a few people in with no reservations in this way. If luck is not in your favor, Bodega 1900 across the street by the same people was amazing as well. We basically let our waiter order for us. The menu is quite confusing and there are some dishes that we had that were not even on the menu. It ended up being a 20 plus course meal over 3 hours and it was out of this world. Everything dish we tried was amazing. The presentation and execution was something I have never seen. Everything was a surprise, dish after dish. They definitely like their seafood here. I tried their steak on the 2nd visit and it was amazing. I came back the 2nd time specifically for that after seeing it served to another table on the 1st visit. Dessert was amazing as well. I rather not go into everything dish by dish, since everything served was seasonal and I visited back in May. I posted pictures so you can see how everything turned out. Service is the best in Barcelona. If you have been to Barcelona, you will understand that service is lacking in most places. It is pricey and things add up really quickly. If you are a big eater, don't expect to get too full since its all tapas and bites are pretty small. read more

It's no wonder this place is ranked #29 in Conde Nast. Phenomenal. We had the entire 22 course menu, stayed for 4 hours, and did not want to leave. Everything from the ambiance, to level of creativity, overall vibe, quality of food and service, was 10 stars. The BEST experience ever. Treat yourself to this spectacular place, worth every cent. read more

It's famous. It tastes good. There's a waiting list. It's worth it. But I find it borderline pretenscous and that makes me feel like a right dingbat. I'd rather relax and eat a ham Sandwhich. However, if you have a fresh suit and some high heels. You won't be disappointed. read more

So I kind of expect a certain level of service for a one star Michelin restaurant. We got there and sat outside briefly for cocktails and wine. The drinks were good. We were then ushered to our table. The food was good but nothing deserving of one star. The service as well was nothing deserving of 1 star. I was walking to use the restroom and the waitress stopped me and told me to use the bathroom later as the final dessert was coming - it was ice cream and I understand it melts but can I take a quick piss?? (You can put it in the freezer for a second). Save yourself the disappointment and go to Disfrutar - maybe that was our mistake - we went there the day prior. read more

I never made it to Spain before El Bulli closed in 2011 so I was thrilled to be able to get a reservation here at Tickets, the Adria brothers' restaurant. Super fun tapas concept with cute ticket booth decor, service staff dressed up in costume, and even an ice cream cart that goes around. Considering the pedigree of the owners, the food is super well priced. Without alcohol, dinner for 2 was 100 euros and we were stuffed! You can order a la carte or simply have them bring you a selection based on likes/dislikes. We went with the a la carte. There was not a single bad dish we had. Some were skippable, but I would order almost everything again if I'm back in Barcelona. Loved: - the famous el Bulli olives! Yes, they're as good as the hype. I have no idea how they make them thin with the liquid inside, but they are amazing - technique is replicated in some of their other bite sized times like the liquid ravioli. Mmmm! - crab and avocado 'cannelloni'. No pasta here, just the use of avocado as the wrap - cheese puff things. Great contrast of the creamy center with the exterior crunch - torta of cheese with breadsticks. This is super cool. It's a sheep cheese that has a rind like Brie, but when it's brought to room temperature, the center softens enough to be a thin cream consistency that you dip breadsticks into. So good that we stopped by the market to find something similar to take back home! - desserts! We had 3 since we couldn't decide. There was this chocolate and orange pastry that was on their featured menu and just amazing. Perfect combo of creamy chocolate in between layers of pastry topped with powdered chocolate, drizzle and orange. Also had their non- chocolate lava cake which was perfectly done with the right amount of liquid. Nice raspberry gelato on the side. We finished with a couple of 'chocolate rocks' which were beautifully presented on rocks! The only thing I would skip is the potatoes with Iberian ham since they were only average. Lots of other dishes looked good but we had no more room. Great service for a Spanish restaurant. Before you leave, don't forget to head to the back to see the giant chocolate giraffe and giant hamburger at the pastry chefs section. Totally lived up to my expectations! read more

BEST AND HAPPIEST MEAL EVER. Getting a reservation was kind of crazy because their website would crash every day at midnight Spain time. In the end, after many attempts, I got a reservation for 1 person, but when I emailed them, they were very nice about changing it to 2 for me (all that was online was availability for 1...). The place is super whimsical with a theater theme inside (including the red rope and ticket office at the front), and there are open views of all the prep areas. I requested a seat at the bar, so we could watch them. Bar seating is the way to go. For drinks, they had very generous wine pours, and we had some good Spanish wines at around €5 per glass (crazy cheap, right??), and I think we ended up with 8 generously poured glasses between the 2 of us. You can order of the menu, or trust them to surprise you. The menu descriptions do NOT do the dishes justice. They kept asking if we wanted more, and we kept saying yes. 1. "Olives": the signature El Bulli dish - pureed olives reshaped into olives, with lime and peppers and honey - they basically explode in your mouth 2. Surtido: wonderfully rich Iberican ham and pan con tomate 3. The Spring Tree: Literally a tree with scissors and "fruit" hanging off of it. This was the most elaborate presentation for a dish I've ever seen - Crispy rice coated pistachio cheese: the crunch from the rice and the pistachio taste were great - Cherries: coated in a cloud of salt and lime, and surprise - the pit was replaced by a pistachio! - Churros: light and airy, like freeze dried black currant and yogurt. The yogurt flavor is strong but is cut nicely with the white wasabi dipping sauce 4. Green Waffles: warm, in a cute picnic basket, stuffed with carmoza cheese, ham, and crunchy pine nuts. The waffle was made of basil, and it was like a perfect pesto concoction. 5. Straciatella: crispy thin brie and oregano "pizza" with balsamic jellies. The straciatella (like burrata) for the pizza was amazing 6. Pita: puffed and filled with Manchego cream, topped with cheese - like an air bag that bursts with flavor 7. Eel brioche with shiso leaf: served in a dim sum dish. I don't even like unagi, but this was good and not over-sauced 8. White asparagus: best asparagus dish ever. Tender miso marinated white asparagus (perfect texture) with crispy garlic and escabeche 9. Oysters: fresh oysters with a Thai sauce (actual peanut bits) and tobiko - way cooler than a standard mignonette 10. Torched salmo: with salmon skin chips to put the salmon on. You then top it with a seaweed and radish salad 11. Mar y montana: with bread. Super flavorful squid and white bean stew with Iberian sausage. Best beans ever. 12. "Secret plate": pasta made of Korean king trumpet mushrooms with the most amazing chive and truffle sauce, topped with parmesan cheese. LOVED this. 13. Potato confit and Iberian ham: smoky 14. Mini hamburger: with cochinillo and sriracha mayo, pickled carrots - it tasted like a high end banh mi (in a good way) 15. Chicken: on a stick, lots of spices (especially cumin), topped with foam. I don't even like chicken thigh, but this was amazing. It came with a square of bread soaked in chicken gelatin - AMAZING 16. Cheese: Traditional Payoyo and bread, then spoons of a creamy payoyo ball topped with mini bread They then moved us into a DESSERT ROOM?! It was like Alice in Wonderland, with berries on the ceiling, an open prep kitchen (we got the bar seats). This room was just... happy! Ratatouille was being shown in the background 17. Edible rose: with a lychee center 18. Pancakes: like the sugary top of a creme brûlée filled with the inside of the creme brûlée, maple syrup, a jar of blueberry compote, and pats of "butter " (actually caramel) 19. Mille feuille: a mille feuille on its side topped with wild strawberries 20. Strawberries: prepped tableside on a cart. Basil sherbet, freshly macerated strawberries, freeze dried and wild local strawberries, tiny basil leaves, balsamic, black pepper, brown sugar, and olive oil. BEST fruit dessert ever! 21. Eclair: in a cute Tickets envelope. Chocolate coated with a peanut butter center and crispy rice inside 22. Orange lemonade shots: at this point, I couldn't even tell if there was alcohol All for only €263 (IVA included) for 2 people. The € was almost 1:1 with the $ when we went. I have never been so excited and literally elated by a restaurant. Throughout the meal, we just kept saying this was the most amazing meal ever. Each dish was so innovative without doing excessive molecular gastronomy, and each thing had a cool surprise component to it. i hate to say it, but I'm glad El Bulli closed because we otherwise would not have had Tickets! Definitely the most memorable meal I've ever had. I would fly to Barcelona just for this. read more

If there is one restaurant you must check off your travel list when you are in Barcelona, Tickets is the place to go. Like every other restaurant, it has its negatives, but those are way outweighed by the positive. Yes, it is quite expensive, but for the variety of food that they have, and the amazing taste and service, all of the money is worth it. Tickets is understandably busy, but you get so caught up in all of the foods that they are bringing out, you find yourself not bothered by the amounts of people in the room. The service is amazing, for you have one waiter/waitress who is with you the entire time. Based off of what you and others with you like, they will bring out small portions of so many types of food. No matter where you come from, there will be at least one dish that you have never eaten or heard of before that you will fall in love with. Because of all that they do at Tickets, it is incredibly important that if you make a reservation 6 months beforehand. Since we were from the U.S., we had to book it at a certain time, and even though it is quite hard to get a reservation, it definitely is worth the time that you spend trying to get in. Once you are finished with the small main courses, you get taken to the dessert room where they do the same thing. You are also able to tell the waiter/waitress when you want to stop. Like I said before, the variety of food is amazing. My personal new favorite would be the octopus, that they cooked to a perfect crisp. They also had this green basil waffle, that was delicious. The ambiance is quite unique, and although it is expensive, it is by far the best restaurant in town. read more
Reservation is extremely tricky with Tickets. You need to make sure you dial ahead your date/time to match their local time in order for anything to show up! On my second visit to Barcelona, I was finally able to secure a reservation. They open at 6:30 PM and we were part of the first wave of diners. The inside is cheesy broadway/theatre decor. We opted for the tasting menu where they asked a series of questions and prepare dishes that work with our taste. I've got to say, the first 4 dishes were so freaking impressive! The latter ones didn't have as big of a wow-factor. It could've been because we got used to the level of deliciousness. I did not bother reading their menu and trusted them on what best to serve. My favorite was the first dish; soft, explosive, delicious green olives! I can't get them out of my head. It looked like a very simple dish, but it took us by surprise. Olives with star anise, cinnamon, and black pepper. Here are some of the other tapas we got: - Smoked mackerel with lettuce soup, edible crunchy marinated plant --- AMAZING! I loved the play of texture. It tasted fresh. - Sweet shrimp marinated for 6 hours in salt and black tea --- DELICIOUS!! I love sweet shrimp by default; and I can taste the hint of black tea. 6 hours of marination = worth it - Salmon tobiko with marshmallow, sour cream center, lemon zest and spicy beets --- GOOD! They really like to pair different taste and texture. This combo worked really well. - Inflated pizza dough with machego cheese foam, machego cheese on top and hazelnut --- Cheesy - Baguette with beef tenderloin ---- Barcelona has tons of quality jamon; the switch up here is, they served with beef tenderloin instead of pork - Avocado and coriander gel ravioli stuffed with crab and chipotle mayo, chia seeds --- Interesting - Beef with vinegar powder, dill, pickled onion ---- The only other "meaty" tapa we had. The beef was diced up. The presentation was pretty! - Surf clam with tomate ponzu, white sesame, pickled cucumber - Oyster with oyster sauce and salmon roe --- not as interesting - Eel wrapped with nori seaweed and foie gras --- my mom's favorite tapa! It's foie gras, if you like it then you'll love it! After all that, we were too full to carry on. But they somehow convinced us to get fruits with sorbet. We moved onto the dessert room, the whole room screams SWEET! EAT MORE SWEETS! with old classical movies playing (Ratatouille, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory...) My mom thought this was the best meal she has ever had in her whole life, which makes me happy! read more

Arrogance will get Tickets no where. Tried to follow Ticket's reservation requirements to no avail. Despite multiple requests for a reservation nearly 60 days in advance and including having the concierge at the hotel where I will be staying, this establishment has not had the courtesy to respond to either me or the hotel concierge. I will be happy to take my business elsewhere to a restaurant that promptly responded in the affirmative to my request. read more

i was most excited to eat at Tickets after I booked my trip to Barcelona and i'm so glad that this placed lived up to the hype i built up for myself haha. i locked up my lunchtime reservation exactly a month away from the date i wanted and using their website was pretty easy since i was flexible with my meal time. got here at 2pm for Saturday lunch and the place was already pretty full but me and justin b. were seated at the main bar area so we could watch most of the dishes being plated which was pretty awesome to see how meticulous each dish was. love the carnival theme throughout the restaurant too. the menus are super cute with their designs and while we were there an el bulli documentary was playing on the tv that was pretty interesting to watch in between bites haha. we decided to just let our server decide the menu for us so i liked the surprise aspect of our meal since we were game to pretty much eat anything on the menu haha. also its pretty awesome that your place settings consist of a pair of tweezers to eat your meal instead of your normal fork/knife haha. we had so many different tapas but some of the favorites included: fried fish chicharron snacks, the infamous el bulli olives, anchovy, tuna belly, oysters with different sauces, grilled octopus, and of course iberico ham. omg we had the best tiramisu served in the cutest half mug for dessert too! everything about our meal was amazing! the service was spot on throughout the lunch. each dish was explained to us in detail and the staff was pretty fluent in english. each dish that we had was so good too - there really was nothing that i didnt like. definitely recommend this to anyone in the barcelona area!! read more
What's not to love about this place? The décor is super cute and fun, they have a super friendly waitstaff, the plating is creative, and the food is on point! Not to mention it's rated as one of the top restaurants of the world. Unlike other restaurants featured on this list of the top restaurants of the world, this place is strictly a la carte, so no tasting menu involved. This is a great alternative to fit all budgets! The reservation window for this restaurant opens up 2 months in advance, so best to book early as this place is very popular and fills up quickly. Of note, if you plan to stay for dessert, ask your waiter/waitress after being seated if there is space to have this last course in the secret back room when you are finished with your main courses--it's quite the treat! Must haves include the octopus, the Iberian Ham, the mushroom ramen, and the cheesecake with cookies, which look like cheese and crackers. read more
THE ENVIRONMENT: was fun and playful. Tickets offers a very laid back atmosphere which allowed for everyone to relax and just enjoy the meal. There was nothing stuffy about the dining room, it was all about having a good time. Your senses are filled with pops of color, interesting displays of decoration, funky chairs and tables, and of course, some of the most interesting food I have ever had the opportunity to eat. THE SERVICE: was great; different than I expected, but great. The server introduced herself to us at the beginning of the night, asked us if we would like to order a la carte or would prefer a type of "tasting menu". We chose the tasting menu; then she asked if we had any food aversions/allergies (we told her we ate everything except coconut) and she then began sending out courses. They dont offer an actual "tasting menu" so the servers have the ability to send out what they think the table will enjoy based on the few questions she asked. So, the courses you get might be similar to the dishes the table next to you gets; but the entire meals are not the same. The first few dishes came our right away; but as the night progressed there started to be a few lulls between dishes. Not necessarily a bad thing though; as it helps you realize how full/not full you are if you're given a few minutes to process that. Around course #17 she asked us how many more savory dishes we wanted because there were "several sweet courses to end the meal". We opted for 1 or 2 and then the desserts showed up. All in all, the service was great, very "hands on"; yet she allowed us to enjoy and process the entire meal slowly and without much interruption. THE FOOD: was amazing. Molecular gastronomy continues to be on of my favorite food experiences and Albert Adria is one of the best chefs in that category. From the techniques used, to the incredible flavor achieved, to the unique ingredients- our meal was not only delicious; it was all a work of art. Each dish was delicious, each dish was impressive, and each dish was fun to see as well as eat. My favorite courses? All of them. Every single dish was so good that I would go back and order every one of them again. MY FINAL THOUGHTS: Tickets was easily the most fun I'ver had while eating a meal. From the moment we walked in to the restaurant to the moment we left we had such a great time. If you ever find yourself planning a trip to Barcelona; make sure you get reservations at Tickets. Its a must-visit for anyone who loves and appreciated food. For a more lengthy review, click here: http://www.coffeewineandyoga.com/blog/2015/5/28/quest-for-100-tickets-barcelona-spain read more
I was soooo excited to eat here with my family when we were visiting Barcelona last weekend and had made sure I made reservations way in advance. We came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and were seated immediately. The waiter came over and asked us if we had any allergies - one of us has a shellfish allergy and that was noted. He was okay as a waiter - didn't really smile much and had an indifferent attitude. As I was with my parents and boyfriend who had never had omakase or tapas really before, they weren't really sure of the process and the waiter just seemed a bit annoyed with having to explain everything to us. We went with the option of having him choose our dishes for us as that was recommended. Everything he chose for us was just fine - some were really delicious and some were just mediocre, to be honest. I kind of wished that we just chose our own dishes as we saw some people get this magnificent looking steak and I was superrrrr jealous. I would say it's nice to try once but otherwise, I would probably try other options in Barcelona! read more

Good luck getting through their reservation system. They say they take reservations two months in advance starting at midnight. I tried two days in a row - their website simply doesn't work. It would scroll and scroll and scroll. Then it would freeze. Then it would time out. Then I'd get an error message - try back again soon or they had too high a demand. Refreshing didn't help - starting over didn't help. I have no problem with a hard to get reservation - but at least have a reservation system that works. After spending a half hour two afternoons in a row to get nothing to work I gave up. I'm sure there are other great restaurants in Barcelona that don't make it so hard. Waste of time. read more
Our first meal in Barcelona, and we really loved it. The wait staff helped us from tapa selection to wine/beer pairing, and it was a lovely meal. We were fortunate to sit by the kitchen entrance and saw all the hard work that the staff had to do for every single plate coming out. The presentation was thoughtful and unpretentious. Decor was minimal, because food is everything but that. The shrimp, razor clam, oyster were spectacular. Yes, it was an expensive meal and my husband (yes, we just got married the day before) may need to sell his body for the next few days. read more

THE WORST Michelin restaurant service I ever had...first , there is a bug in my tomato tea. 2nd we ordered something that never came. 3rd when we switched from the bar to the dessert room ,our drinks got switched.(there are only two of us ). The food is good but I did see fly in the kitchen and around our seating area. Ended with 280 euros for two ppls dinner but this is THE worst Michelin EVER. read more

This restaurant was certainly the highlight of our trip. My husband is a big fan of the Adria brothers and so I made sure I made reservations 2 months before our trip- iy was certainly not easy! Everything from the ambiance to the food was exceptional. The restaurant is divided into 4 sections that blend in together in a fun way. 'La Presumida' (Bold) reflects Barcelona's blue waters, the sun, the people. In this section you'll find the traditional Spanish tapas. 'La Estrella' (Star) focuses on drinks focusing in this case on the famous Spanish beer Estrella Damn. 'El Gallinero' (Henhouse) for the lousy rascals (as per Tickets) and finally 'Nostromo 180286' which is where we sat, that has a modern decor where they let their creativity drive them. The food is inspired by El Bulli and you can appreciate a lot of molecular gastronomy without losing on taste! My favorite dishes were: Las Oliva -S, Toro Ham, Oysters with caviar olive oil, razor clams and the highlight was the golden painted fried egg with black truffle (Amazing!) The desserts were outstanding as well and to add on the amazing night we met Albert Adria and spoke to him for 15 minutes - he was so friendly. I guess it helped that I was from Spain and my husband a major fan of his work! read more

an amazing not-to-be-missed experience... there were many items from el bulli menu. (now closed) all was mostly just small 1 item things for tasting. we started with 6 "olives" which was an amazing start...weird and wild and delicious. what you expect from ferran... we had a "oyster with its pearl" which was a great oyster with a pearl of smokey taste. - also a bit wild. anchovie with tomato seeds - very good - but not mind blowing. then a ham+ potato thing we had was good but on level we were at was almost disappointing. the squid was a big hit we ordered 2 plates. a must. - prob. our have item. the manchego "airbag" i loved. "liquid ravioli" was pretty great. gambas- peel + eat . ok but will try something else next time gran reserva jamón iberico- excellent, but as i live in spain i am accustomed to excellent cured meats so... do get pan con tomate... i know i must be forgetting something.... just each touch was well looked after. really another level from virtually anyplace else...in all senses desserts were amazing: a choc hazelnet bon bon type thing mmmm so good with the red wine! and a "cheesecake" that was unlike any other and fantastic. looking at the fotos....food looks fancy/fussy... i know. i saw photos on the web and had serious doubts...but so many positive reviews...we had to try it at least once... now we will go back of course! we had 4 glasses of wine some great reds... all wines were avail by the glass, nice touch plus we started with that "ferran adria" estrella beer .5 liter dinner for 2 w/drinks service tax etc...and we did not scrimp at all , went pretty full on.... 165 euro looking forward to our next visit!!! read more

My sister saw this place on Anthony Bourdain so we had to make a rez. Apparently you need to reserve a month in advance. We were going to Barcelona at the end of a cruise and we were able to secure a rez. Funny layout and decoration, I guess they were trying to get a broadway show kind of look. The servers were excellent, we were told we can order what we want or have a surprise. We decided on surprise. This might be one of the most fun I've had for dinner in a while. We had no idea what dishes were coming and what they would taste like. Sangira infused watermelon - refreshing and different Parmesean crackers with caviar - tasty and interesting Sesame seed crusted Nori - wow, yummy, made me think of pork rinds Olive thingys - Olives infused with other flavors like lemon and pepper with an intense olive flavor and no pits, how did they do that? Jamon and tomato bread - pretty good, apparently best Jamon in Spain...hmm OK Sardine Crostini - yum Cheese Croquet things - I didn't know what to call them Basil Macaroni on heavy cream - interesting and taste good Foie Gras - do I need to say anything? Razor Clams - taste interesting Nori Seaweed cone covered with filo pastry filled with tuna and topped with Salmon eggs - wow didn't expect to get sushi here - yum! Raw Oysters - pretty good Avocado Canelloni with crab meat fillling - tasted like an intense California Roll Octopus - wow, a surprise, expected it to be rubbery, but texture was like eating meat Pork Sliders - These were so light and tasty Tapanade encrusted pork belly - Mmmm Amaretto Cherries with no pit - different Chocolate Wine Corks - interesting Chocolate Dumplings filled with Passionfruit ice cream - wow, what a way to end! My first experience with molecular gastronomy, it was fun, some dishes were pretty good but I wouldn't order them but several were incredible. Having it as a surprise menu made it fun and allow us to try different things. The meal was expensive, but well worth it for the experience. Oh if you are looking to fill up here, probably not the place to do that. Each portion, tasty and small. read more

We had a magical evening at Tickets. The atmosphere is lively and fun, unlike so many other restaurants with such a reputation. The kitchen is split into several stations so our table felt as if it was IN the kitchen. Our staff was attentive, with at least four different members helping as during our meal. Orchestrated chaos is the only way to describe how the staff work in concert with each other moving from table to table and dish to dish because at most restaurants you'll enjoy three or four courses, but at Tickets we had 30! The food is incredible. The Tickets olives are small wonders of intense flavor packaged like an unbroken egg. The beet cake melts on your tongue leaving only an amazing flavor behind. The mushroom noodles were my favorite. These are not traditional dishes so open your mind to a new experience in food. Reservations can be difficult to get but if you're prompt on the website you will get in. Also, when compared to similar restaurants around the world Tickets is not extravagantly priced. Our meal was about 82 euro each. read more

Two couples sat down for dinner, beyond excited for the "experience" at Tickets that everyone has raved about. The service was awful. Our waiter was very unfriendly and did not want to take time to explain menu items. He left us waiting for menus, dishes, and silverware and was unapologetic. He also was visibly annoyed that we were having difficulty deciding on orders and did not offer assistance. Someone in my group even felt compelled to apologize to him because we were taking a long time to decide on wine. The food was good and presentation was nice, but it was not an experience as we expected and were ultimately disappointed at the end of the night. We felt like we had been caught in a tourist trap and paid too much for an ok meal and bad service. I never write reviews for restaurants or hotels normally, so this shows just how much I was disappointed. I would not recommend to others! read more
What a surreal experience. First off, however, good luck getting a table. They open up reservations exactly 2 months out at midnight Spanish time, so 6pm EST. We were online and prepared, counting down the minutes in an effort to get a Tuesday reservation 60 days out. Nope, no luck whatsoever. After 30 minutes of failed attempts and timed out web pages, we gave up. Fortunately, our hotel's concierge was able to pull some strings and get us a 10pm booking. We happily accepted and showed up 15 minutes early to enjoy a glass of champagne in their outside waiting area. While we were there, we saw at least a dozen people try to walk up for a table and get turned away. I wish it was easier to make a reservation because I'd go back in a heartbeat. I could write about the food for the next hour, but then I'd be hungry. And you already know the food is good. It's a top 50 restaurant in the world. Here's what you might not know... it's really well priced. I'd say downright affordable, given the quality and variety of the food. It could have been double the price and we still would have enjoyed it, although we might not have rushed back for a second visit. The sommelier picked out a nice white burgundy wine that satisfied my need for a big body wine with my wife's preference for white wine. Just go. Find a way to get a reservation. Lie, cheat, steal... do whatever you need to do. It's worth the effort to enjoy this experience. read more
great experience. my wife and i went and got sat at what was equivalent of a sushi bar. sat right in front of a whole team of chefs creating certain dishes. very fun to watch. they are big on the server recommending a bunch of dishes and creating a type of tasting menu. we picked out probably 4-5 that we really wanted and he said he could work those into the tasting menu. i dont like olives, but those olive things were awesome. they take so much care in serving them also. watermelon sangria, pillows, razor clams, tuna belly, along with many other things were all excellent. would recommend this place to anyone. don't think about coming without a reservation. read more

The best restaurant I've ever visited. Made reservations three months out at soon as it opened for reservations and patiently waited my turn to sample some of the best tapas in the world. Arrived with my wife on time and decided to trust our server with suggestions rather than ordering off the menu - what a great idea! The entire 3 hour meal was a surprise from start to finish. We didn't specifically order anything just trusted our food adventure to the pros. The coolest part about the experience was the unique ways they prepare traditional tapas and the plating - every dish has its own plating and no two are the same - I would hate to be that dishwasher! After the main course, you are reseated to the dessert studio/room where your dessert/sweet adventure starts. Man oh man - needless to say it was easy to drop well over 400 euro on drinks and dinner at this place - but it was worth every single cent! Don't expect to just walk in and get a table. Try the octopus - or trust your server with taking you on a whirlwind of a food vacation! read more

Adria & Iglesias brothers make a total hit with tickets. Congratulations for an innovative and fun restaurant. Albert hospitality was great, thank you very much for talking and showing to me your restaurants. I want to note I went by myself since I lost my plane and came 2 days after my reservation. I was very lucky to got an space for me in one of the bar areas. I let my server order for me. I had a blast since my first dish "Pan Tomaca" wish is the perfect combination of a crispy toast, tomato, garlic & olive oil. Then, I got the famous "olives" which were unbelievable, such an intense flavor in one bite. The rest of my tapas were: Boqueron, Manchego mini-airbags, Tempura de Algas (which only Adria's are able to make), Ugly tomato with withe gazpacho gelatin, avocado cannelloni with lump crab meat, oysters with its own pearl, truffles and pork cheeks sandwich. My favorite was "Ventrezca de Atún" tuna belly in escabeche sauce. Yuuuummmyyy. I finished with a roses petals ice cream & green tea rock. Fantastic, I can't wait to go back and try 41*, Pakta, Bodega 1800 and Hoja Santa. I want to thanks all the team for making that night so special to me. read more

I am writing about my terrible restaurant with a hostess. One hostess was very agitated that I wished to wait for a single seat since I was alone. I asked to speak to the manager/director at around 8PM and because I had no reservation, he asked me to go ahead and wait for 2 hour until around 10-10:30PM. The weather was cold outside and I still waited 2 hours because of Ticket's reputation. I came back in 2 hours and the director was at another restaurant location. The same hostess asked me to leave and claimed that it was never said that I should wait and that I should have left before. She was very belligerent and told me to leave and didn't even let me stand in the waiting area to wait for the director. She closed the door and gave me very dirty looks. Carlos told me he is the manager and I can write to this address. I wrote to him and he did absolutely nothing. I am very disappointed in the service provided and the attitude displayed by its staff. The quality of food is important but should not supercede how the staff treat customers. read more
