Located off of Lafayette Avenue in Hawthorne, we discovered this establishment offering antiques, furniture, household goods, and collectibles. Upon arriving at the entrance in the back, which might look small from the outside, Then and Now Consignment Shop with its floor-to-ceiling and in every nook and cranny, items come in all shapes and sizes, and finding the perfect one for your collection can be a real accomplishment. My partner and I came here looking for something to put our artificial, realistic flowers in. Already have our eyes on a couple of items and finally found a beautiful glass vase at a reasonable price. This is all worth a visit and has enough stock to keep collectors of all manner of items happy, which we can recommend.

They are knowledge and genuinely like how neat all the stuff is. They are extremely personable. There is the barn filled with furniture, larger antiques and trinkets and the house building that has some really cool antiques throughout. I once saw a JFK campaign hat! The prices are fair and they are also willing to negotiate with you. Every time I've gone in as well there is new stuff which I think speaks for the amount of consigners in the area. The property itself it pretty beautiful too. While I wish I could keep this place a secret, they deserve the business. The greyish brunette woman, older in age, that I gave my donations to opened up the bins outside, dug through and picked out the worst items, including a clean pair of underwear to hold and shame up in my face in public like a dog and scolded me (my mistake, I missed some small items during sorting, but I don't think harassment is acceptable). The entire experience was humiliating and meant to humiliate. She rolled her eyes at valuables like designer shoes and large brass candelabras inside the bins. I had some heavier bins. Neighbors unrelated to this organization off the street helped me while this woman said "we don't do that here" (I grew up Christian, and these are not Christian values). She looked up and down at me and asked if I "even had children's clothes" and I said "I didn't think so." Whatever baby stuff was in there was high quality and unused. She locked eyes with me for a while scowling. She rolled her eyes later at the designer diaper bag with tag still affixed. I left crying. There are many other more reputable places in the area that are kind, more down to earth and cater towards middle-class clientele. I like the ones near Central Ave and the homeless shelter definitely needs goods. I recommend not going here and supporting this business. If you choose so, you put donations by their side door.

The thrift store is a little confusing to get to. It is located on the side of the church in a…read moreseparate residence. Anyway, I attempted to visit the store on a Friday around noon and it was not open. There was no sign or flags indicating when the store would be open. I peeked in the window and there was a bunch of merchandise with price tags on them, so there does seem to be a store in there. If you have any updates about hours, please post!
