This is the first Daiso I've been to in NJ. I was so excited to check it out. It didn't disappoint. There was a large selection of Sanrio stuff which was super cool! They had a cool selection of a little bit of everything. There was a nice selection of stationary and party items. The prices were a little confusing but it was alright after it was explained. Love a nice full sized Daiso especially when it's across a Mitsuwa! entered the store with one item in mind and I needed to get a basket. Don't be silly like me and grab a basket during entrance you will need it! I got some party decorations, cups and various candies and snacks. Super quick check out. read more

This store is larger than the Little Ferry location. I like both, but I like how the space allows for more inventory and it feels less cramped. Heads up - Bergen County Blue Law affects what you can buy on Sundays. On Sundays, you cannot purchase clothing, shoes, electronics, or kitchen tools. The shelves are netted up. read more

First stop in New Jersey has to be Daiso. Oh how I've missed this place. I only did some window shopping this trip. Nothing popped out to me and had to come home with me. The store is well organized and full of all the trinkets and things I love (cookware, bento box supplies, household items, stationary, and snacks. Prices are reasonable and they have a large variety of items. If I lived in the area I would shop here all the time. I loved the seasonal area and the cooking/food area. I was looking for Bento box items but didn't see anything new. I will return next trip to the area. Great shop with a lot of different choices for items ranging from kitchen things to car items. Like a dollar store and most items are off a good quality. Saw they had 75% off Christmas items so we got silver things for next year at a bargain. Annual renewal of house slippers and some sponges for cleaning. Daiso is within the Mitsuwa Marketplace plaza. If you don't know by now, Daiso is a staple store of Japan. It is a Japanese dollar store type of shop. While the prices are still very affordable in the states, there is some things to know before you go. PARKING Depending on the day you go, you'll either struggle with parking or have absolutely no issue. Every time I've been to the plaza on a weekend, I was struggling. Every time I'm here on a weekday, at any time of the day, literally no issue whatsoever. Empty parking lot out the wazoo! It is free parking, and the parking lot is decent sized ish. You can also park at one of the next shopping centers over, and there's a path along the back, near the Hudson River, that is a 5 minute walk to the Mitsuwa Marketplace Plaza. Be careful though, every time I've walked this area alone, during broad day light no less, I've dealt with weirdos and creeps. Despite the fact there's so many families that bring their kids here. SHOPPING EXPERIENCE It's not very obvious what the prices are on any of the products. The signs, for price conversions, are very small and hidden in niched areas. They're not very obvious. Seeing as this is now a Japanese store in America, the prices aren't exactly a dollar. It's also very hard to find the yen version on the product itself, so many times I don't know how much I'm spending until I get to the cash register. Which money does in fact add up! The first time I came here, I felt like a kid in a candy store! There's something here for everyone, and I know each product is probably well-made. That being said, I was also very lost and confused too. At the time, I was living on a budget and it would have been kinder, to me, to list the prices upfront so I can shop accordingly. I don't like to be a burden or feel awkward about having to turn away some items up at cash register. Save everyone the time and headache by making the prices more visible! SELECTION There is a wide selection of goodies for everyone! If you want candy or snacks, don't buy them in Mitsuwa, buy them here! I most specifically shopped for Japanese stationery on both occasions here and was not disappointed! They have some the best stationery selections, but their stationery selection has grown a substantial amount since the last time I visited over last summer! The overall size of the store is about the same size as an America Dollar Store. This store isn't particularly large in size, but it hold so much! It's very clean and everything is so well-organized. OVERALL I will be returning, but only once in awhile. It's easy to go over board here. I definitely want to take a closer peak as to what else they're offering besides just stationery. This place is so cute, and the staff are so friendly. I make sure to always stop by when I'm in the area. There is a wide selection of products you could buy for cheap. I don't think I would trust the makeup they sell here though. Other than that, I have had no issues with any of the other products I have bought here. read more

I love stopping by Daiso whenever I go to mitsuwa market. I don't necessarily need anything but it's just entertaining browsing their cute and nitty merchandise, especially the stationery dept. It reminds me of the stationery stores we used to go to when I was growing up. Buying a new and cute pen , pencil or eraser makes me want to do more homework. When I lived on the West Coast, going to a Daiso meant leaving with an armful of stuff you didn't really need. There are a few outlets in the Bay area. Guess what, the same thing happens on the East Coast. This is the only Daiso I'm aware of in the Tri-State area, so we decided to make a trek up here during the week day to avoid crowds during the PANDEMIC. It's pretty much the $1.50 store of your dreams, with all sorts of unusual if not quirky Japanese and Asian goodies that you didn't know you needed. I don't even know what I spent $16 dollars on, but apparently I thoroughly enjoyed myself for the hour that I was there. Bring your own bag or you'll have to buy one. read more

What a fun store to shop by Mitsuwa!! Now there is another reason to come to this side of the Hudson River besides eating at the food court. Grand Opening on Sat, August 3rd. Heard how crazy the Flushing location was the first day so we decided to go during evening around 7pm. Didn't have much trouble finding a parking spot (free parking). Store was busy but not crazy. Did hear from a cashier that there was a huge line in the morning as the first 300 customers would get a goodie bag. Most items are marked at $1.99 with some items that are sold for high prices. Lots of back to school supplies but also a wide range of household items. In addition, there was a wide range of Japanese snacks and just many cute stuff all over. We spent an hour browsing and deciding if the items were really something that we needed or they were just cute to buy. Oh well, we did spend over $50. Every time I take a trip to New York I always make sure I stop here for the goodies and you can easily overspend buying things you need or you may not need (cute things will get you). This little gem is a Japanese dollar store where you can buy everything and anything. They have car accessories, stationeries, household/office products, snacks, and more! This is the only store I buy face towels at be use they are super soft! I'm obsessed with Rilakkuma and bought a few accessories with this cute bear (I told you cute things will get you). I prefer this location because it's a bigger store than the one in Flushing, NY. If you're ever in the New Jersey area, stop by the Edgewater Daiso you won't be disappointed! read more

I visit this store often and like some of the p"roducts and the low prices. Today I encountered a very rude and nasty manager named Alaf (not sure of the spelling). I know you open at 10:00 AM on Sundays: there door was open so I assumed it was already ten o'clock so I went in. I hear this woman yelling Miss, Miss we're not open yet! I responded by say "Calm down, you do not need to be so rude. She responded with a very ill-mannered tone in her voice and loudly "I'm just say". I am reaching out to the owners and would like an apology because this is not the way to treat regular customers! I feel you should speak with this employee and explained to her how customers should be treated and respected and without customers you will have no store or employees. She needs to be retrained on how to approach people. read more

I've been a fan of Daiso ever since I spent an hour in one in Singapore! I may or may not have to keep my arms crossed in order to prevent myself from buying random cute/potentially useful stuff that I might not need. I'm a big fan of their totes and kitchen essentials! Picked up a spatula and some silicon lid covers too! It's pretty well stocked and as a New Yorker I appreciate the 6.65% tax compared to NY's 8.875% tax. read more

Staff were on hand to restock items and help as necessary when the check out line grew. Having been in this shopping complex on the weekends, I would recommend visiting the store during the week when parking is more plentiful. Most items are $1.99 unless otherwise marked. I find that the quality of goods are pretty good for the price. That said, some items might be more expensive and can be easily obtained at Mitsuwa. This store recently opened up I assume and it is located outside of the Mitsuwa supermarket. They seem to have a lot of stuff inside but it is not cheap. The snacks are a bit expensive here and isn't really worth the money. I can probably find a better deal at a nearby dollar store instead. Never heard of Daiso until this trip to Mitsuwa Marketplace. It's towards the front of the shopping center and opened recently. Friend of a friend said they spent quite a bit of money buying lots of knick knacks. I barely spent $10 and what I did spend it in was just for back to school convenience. The store itself is super bright. There were lots of people shopping like everything was free. Everything is $1.99 unless otherwise marked. But I looked around and didn't see much that I needed or couldn't find at home. I managed to pick up some folders and candy. They accept credit cards with a $10 minimum. It's a little affordable Japanese store, I forget to take pictures every time I'm there but I always go for the Sanrio stuff! Lots of cute stationary, toys, home appliances, and snacks. It's a fun place to walk in, around, and out with things you didn't even think of getting. Sort of like my Target trips but less crazy and more cute stuff. Definitely my go-to for buying Christmas party white elephant gifts. Seriously, people always "steal" whatever I got from Daiso at those parties. The store is divided into sections for stationery, household goods, and snacks. There's a small section for seasonal stuff too. Most items are priced at $1.99 but there are items that are marked at higher price so watch out for those. Oh man I am absolutely in love with this place. Everytime I come to nyc I always have to stop by this area to visit all the Japanese stores. Edgewater is beyond awesome! The whole area by the river is filled with gorgeous homes and shops too. I like to tell people that Daiso is like the Japanese version of Five Below, but with much better stuff. Granted some of it is more expensive, but it's just a cheesy analogy after all. They have so much stuff here. You will find rows and rows of household items, random goodies, food, and so much more. One day I bought a bag of corn flavored chips. Not corn chips, I'm saying Japanese chips that tasted like sweet corn! Another time I came in and bought stick on wall panels to make a wall look like wood and pillows It's so easy to buy a ton of stuff in here. Prepare yourself, deep breaths and stay strong.
