If you are familiar with the stationary stores in Asia, you wouldn't be strangers to this store. And their edge is their affordable price tags! Who doesn't like savings?! lol From stationary to household products, usually you won't find you empty handed when walking out of the store! Happy shopping!

Great store! Prices are always incredibly reasonable. Has everything you could possibly want from stationary to unique snacks. Great customer service!

I loved the variety of Sanrios items, and they have good prices. The store is well-organized and clean.

Great shop with a lot of different choices for items ranging from kitchen things to car items. Like a dollar store and most items are off a good quality. Saw they had 75% off Christmas items so we got silver things for next year at a bargain. Annual renewal of house slippers and some sponges for cleaning. They have a lot of dishes and cups and utensils that we have gotten in the past.

I guess things are more expensive than past, but still affordable.

It is more expensive. But Still affordable. Just don't like no return or exchange policy.

46 items sold, nearly $100. But i do use it! Don't @ me.

Daiso is within the Mitsuwa Marketplace plaza. If you don't know by now, Daiso is a staple store of Japan. It is a Japanese dollar store type of shop. While the prices are still very affordable in the states, there is some things to know before you go. PARKING Depending on the day you go, you'll either struggle with parking or have absolutely no issue. Every time I've been to the plaza on a weekend, I was struggling. Every time I'm here on a weekday, at any time of the day, literally no issue whatsoever. Empty parking lot out the wazoo! It is free parking, and the parking lot is decent sized ish. You can also park at one of the next shopping centers over, and there's a path along the back, near the Hudson River, that is a 5 minute walk to the Mitsuwa Marketplace Plaza. Be careful though, every time I've walked this area alone, during broad day light no less, I've dealt with weirdos and creeps. Despite the fact there's so many families that bring their kids here. SHOPPING EXPERIENCE It's not very obvious what the prices are on any of the products. The signs, for price conversions, are very small and hidden in niched areas. They're not very obvious. Seeing as this is now a Japanese store in America, the prices aren't exactly a dollar. It's also very hard to find the yen version on the product itself, so many times I don't know how much I'm spending until I get to the cash register. Which money does in fact add up! The first time I came here, I felt like a kid in a candy store! There's something here for everyone, and I know each product is probably well-made. That being said, I was also very lost and confused too. At the time, I was living on a budget and it would have been kinder, to me, to list the prices upfront so I can shop accordingly. I don't like to be a burden or feel awkward about having to turn away some items up at cash register. Save everyone the time and headache by making the prices more visible! SELECTION There is a wide selection of goodies for everyone! If you want candy or snacks, don't buy them in Mitsuwa, buy them here! I most specifically shopped for Japanese stationery on both occasions here and was not disappointed! They have some the best stationery selections, but their stationery selection has grown a substantial amount since the last time I visited over last summer! The overall size of the store is about the same size as an America Dollar Store. This store isn't particularly large in size, but it hold so much! It's very clean and everything is so well-organized. OVERALL I will be returning, but only once in awhile. It's easy to go over board here. I definitely want to take a closer peak as to what else they're offering besides just stationery. I honestly would most likely use this as my go to place for when I move into/around the area for affordable well-made tidbits around the home.

I love stopping by Daiso whenever I go to mitsuwa market. I don't necessarily need anything but it's just entertaining browsing their cute and nitty merchandise, especially the stationery dept. It reminds me of the stationery stores we used to go to when I was growing up. Buying a new and cute pen , pencil or eraser makes me want to do more homework. They sell everything here from stationery to household items ( kitchen, laundry) , gardening , etc...

Love this place! There're alot of useful household items from here. I always love browsing in this store. I also love how they had 2 self check cashiers available, but signs weren't too clear so no one really know. I never shop for snacks here because I feel they're a bit pricey especially when there is a supermarket literally right across the street. But i love browsing at all other items!!

When I lived on the West Coast, going to a Daiso meant leaving with an armful of stuff you didn't really need. There are a few outlets in the Bay area. Guess what, the same thing happens on the East Coast. This is the only Daiso I'm aware of in the Tri-State area, so we decided to make a trek up here during the week day to avoid crowds during the PANDEMIC. It's pretty much the $1.50 store of your dreams, with all sorts of unusual if not quirky Japanese and Asian goodies that you didn't know you needed. I don't even know what I spent $16 dollars on, but apparently I thoroughly enjoyed myself for the hour that I was there. Bring your own bag or you'll have to buy one.

    Cat hoodies, too!

Great, unique store...excellent for gifts and snacks from Japan. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Lots of stickers, toys, candy, Miffy, Sanrio, etc. Beware the self-checkout, it double charges a lot. Enjoy!

This is such a cute spot!!!! Just when I thought this store had no more cool things I discovered the home section! There are many things from stationary, hair accessories, small gifts, stuffed animals to containers & laundry accessories! An employee described it as a $2 store which made sense because a lot of things were within that price range but many items were also more than $2 but worth it in my opinion. I liked it and would go back for small gifts or basic essentials.

Cute little Japanese imports for random toys, food, household supplies and more. No returns or exchanges, no change at the automated machine for checkout, and some conversions for ten to dollar equivalent pricing (FX rate has a markup for import I suspect since it's far more expensive than the airport pricing).

You will want to keep revisiting this adorable and affordable lifestyle goods store! They rotate stock often, so I always find something new to buy that I most likely do not need but want anyway. Yolo. Anyway, Bergen county's blue law on Sunday is in effect, so keep that in mind when the home goods are sectioned off and off limits on those days.

You're required to hand over all items before entering, and the staff takes their time counting everything to ensure sensors are attached. When you come out, the process repeats--they count everything again and ask what you're purchasing. It's honestly quite annoying. Security presence is minimal; the guard usually just stands near the elevator and doesn't seem actively engaged. Occasionally, there are NYPD officers on-site, though it's unclear why. The checkout line is typically very long, but to their credit, it does move quickly. Overall, I give this location 3 out of 5 stars. I usually manage to find something worth buying, but I'm not really a fan of the overall experience at this store.

The upsides: 1) It's open until 10 PM, compared to the much larger W. 125th St. Harlem location (nearest to me) which closes oddly the earliest of any Manhattan location - i.e., 8 PM. 2) You get competitive price matching for branded items (which many here are Target's private label) with Walmart when you purchase an item in-store and not online or via the app. The downsides: 1) Selection is extremely limited. That being said, you can order online for pickup, which gives you an idea if what you're looking for may be in stock. (They did fill my app order very quickly.) 2) Noted several Target team members stocking items on the floor are (being polite) a little clueless - a surprising feat considering how tiny this location is. I asked two of them for "copier paper" and they really didn't understand what it is, particularly the young woman. After several repeats, I added, "You know, like for a laser printer." The guy gave me an aisle number which was where electronics were. Seeking another Target staff for assistance, he helped me find what I was looking for two aisles down. Most important, given my great experiences at other Targets and select items available here, they need to really better train everyone before they hit the floor on what they sell and where it is! With a wider selection than a Convenience Store, keep a low expectation when entering this Manhattan Valley Target!
