Terribly upsetting piss poor experience. Drinks took forever, refills were never offered, and multiple menu items were announced as not being available. Then later, after placing our orders based on the limited availability, it was announced that our baked potatoes were canceled because they had run out. Once food arrived, it all came out at different times and one person in our party received an overcooked steak, then an undercooked steak, and after sending it back a second time, never received the steak at all. At one point, it felt ferrell, I thought we were going to have to fight the kitchen, as well as each other just to get fed. I enjoyed my experience here. It's a nice looking place with an upscale feel. The service was excellent and attentive. The food was good but not quite up to the level expected given the prices. The wedge salad was the exception, it was perfect. They even substituted cheddar for the blue cheese for me. I also had the pork chop and spinach au gratin. The pork chop was nice and thick, perfectly cooked but not very flavorful. The spinach was almost no spinach and ALL gratin. Now I admit that I adore cheese so I kind of enjoyed it but it was pretty much a dish of melted cheese. Interesting. read more

Have eaten at Tico's Oxford and Jackson many times and this was the worst ever. Two couples and not one single food item was prepared properly or timely. Two filets ordered medium were charred to a crisp and solidly well done. Asparagus was huge and tough. Did t eat but one bite. Salmon order had bones. Wedge salad with grilled chicken came out 25 minutes after the charred filets. Manager was buys watching golf at the bar. Not a good experience. Tico and Jack would be embarrassed read more

Ugh. I genuinely hate this review already. I'm going to start with the positive. The service was good (which seems to be a huge improvement) and the manager was very kind and attentive. On my way out they asked how everything was and I told them that the best thing they could do was claim this page and look at the reviews. The manager actually took the time to ask me what I thought so I told him what I'm about to tell you. They've turned around their service so I'm very hopeful that they will be able to change this up. The crab cakes were extremely salty and not good which is ironic because the steak had zero seasoning. The strip that my uncle had was 68 dollars and inedible. My filet was perfectly cooked and came drenched in melted butter and based on how it looked, I have no idea how it could be so flavorful and plain. I heavily salted it trying to add some flavor but it wasn't good. I sincerely hope that now that they've worked out some of the kinks, they can focus on the food. As mentioned they seemed extremely open to feedback and I'd like nothing more than to see them succeed. Right now the price and quality aren't worth it. read more

Inexcusable. 1. We never got a drink menu to order drinks from 2. Waiter called us "bruh" several times 3. Every time we placed our orders the waiter would come back and tell us they were out of everything- eventually there ended up being about 5 things to choose from 4. The food was basically edible - the drinks were the only decent part but the waiter didn't offer refills 5. So just spent 2000 on a table for 5. We ordered a third bottle of wine (400) and right after serving was told we needed to leave because someone else had table after 9. If we needed to vacate table that's ok. But don't deliver bottle of wine and then tell us to leave. Party of 5 so they added 20% and we added another $100. Poor communication and table management. As I write this, the overall rating for Tico's is 1.8. I don't get it. It's been several months since they've opened and I've eaten at Tico's twice. The service was excellent, the food was excellent, and the bar service was just about excellent. The first time I came, I ordered the pork chop. It was huge, and very, very good. It is a really nice restaurant. I'm not trying to pump this place up, but this is not a 1.8 restaurant. They are currently only five reviews, and I did hear some bad things about Service and the food when they first opened, but that's certainly not true in the last two months. Maybe it had starting pains or just some really picky diners who first came here. But the last occasion I went was there, it was the night before the Oklahoma game and it was packed. And I saw at least five people from Jackson that I knew, so it wasn't like they didn't know anything about Oxford. So if you were one of the first people to come and had an issue give it another try. If you've not been there yet, you're missing a really good steakhouse. read more

Excellent food and service! This place is flying under the radar in Oxford. The best drinks I've had in Oxford. The steaks are top notch served on a 1500 degree hot plate so be careful!the wedge salad was so good and had the best bacon I'm guessing Nueske's bacon. I also got a side of the Gorgonzola dressing and omg is it good! If I could put no stars I would. Cole and Abbey's reviews were spot on. Incredibly unprofessional staff minus Cally, she was caring and understanding. Visiting from Southern California, my fiancé and I were celebrating our anniversary. The experience started off with dirty utensils and being completely ignored by other staff. In terms of the food: -The salad we ordered had brown lettuce -The filet was a flavorless piece of meat slapped down on a hot plate of butter -My filet personally was ordered medium rare, I was given an extremely rare piece of meat. I ended up not finishing it. -My fiancé's filet was cooked perfectly fine but again, a flavorless piece of meat slapped on a plate of butter. -Both of our loaded potato's were quite literally a potato with shredded cheese dropped on top. My fiancé's potato was cold in the center as well. Absolutely nothing special. What seemed to be the floor manager was hiding behind the bar the entire time on his phone. The staff minus Cally was also on their phones and not only acted but looked extremely unprofessional the entire time too. Also, credit card fee? I didn't pay with a credit card. To be seated then wait 30 minutes to receive a drink menu (when the restaurant isn't full) is insanity. There's a reason we asked for our bill after only having one glass of wine - a 3+ hour dinner due to how slow this place runs isn't ideal for anyone. We decided to try Tico on the recommendation of a friend. We were there on a Friday night. Early reservation at 6 there were 3 other tables seated when we arrived. One table was eating their entrees another was just finished and the third was having cocktails. Our server was not very attentive. Never gave us the catch of the day or the chefs special to consider while we were looking over the menu. They were out of the wine my wife ordered. It took 30 minutes for our food to arrive. The kitchen was not swamped. The best I could tell we were the only order in the kitchen at that time. The food came out and both of our steaks were over cooked. We did not send them back. It took 30 minutes to get them the first time. As we were finishing our meal another couple arrived and sat at the table next to us. A different server helped them. This server shared the specials with them. Told them they serve the steaks on a hot plate so consider ordering them under where you would normally order. I ordered the ribeye. I know there is marbling and usually a bit of fat on the cut. My plate with the steak probably had 2 tablespoons of rendered fat on it. Not juices from a medium steak. Presentation and service was a zero. Never had a manager ask us how things were going. We will not recommend to friends or return. read more

Unbelievable to say the least, to claim fine dining and perform the way they did was an embarrassment and enraging to our party. Poor service, poor management, poor food, the list goes on. Celebrating a special occasion, our entire party left generous tips and was scammed into paying more than required.
