It is very conveniently located in downtown McMinnville so you can go and explore straight after class. They rent mats out and mat towel is not required - after practice spray and small towels are provided to clean the mats. Little towels for hot classes, blocks, blankets, straps provided (free of charge). Studio is very clean and spacious. Modern designed. Love the floor - you can actually grab it and get into deeper stretch. Very enthusiastic and welcoming teachers.

The second floor studio is warm and inviting, like the owner/teacher who greeted me upon entering. This is definitely a "locals" establishment based on who else seemed to be in the class I attended on a weekday, but you will feel welcome as a visitor. The students attending via Zoom had connections to Cannon Beach, but were living in other parts of the Northwest. Now for the yoga: if you read the owner's bio and know who her teachers have been and you resonate with that, you will LOVE this yoga. That is the case for me. Christine, the owner, is so knowledgeable about the human body, chakras, energy work, and so much more. Each class is a new and different experience that she tailors to the people present and what she is feeling at the time. We always leave feeling lighter and more centered than we did when we arrived. Mary has the "Buti" yoga class which is more high intensity and super fun! Check the website for times! This studio is a blessing to the community of Newberg. First Street Yoga is the real deal! It is located on the second floor of a building in old town…read moreNewberg. To access you enter in the rear of the building off of Second Ave. between College and Howard. There is free parking lot behind the building shared with Bank of America and a few other businesses. I am attending the Level I classes so I will cannot comment on Levels II & III but I am very impressed with their program so far. It differs from other Yoga classes I have taken at various fitness clubs in that the class moves at a slower pace. Instead of flowing quickly from pose to pose there is more time spent trying to achieve proper alignment. They also encourage greater use of props such as blankets, blocks, and straps than I have seen before. I am recovering from a back injury and after a year of physical therapy my physical therapist recommended Yoga to help lengthen tight muscle groups, strengthen smaller underutilized muscles, and improve posture. I am very cautious about reinjuring myself so I value the extra time the instructors take to teach proper alignmment. It is possible that some might find the pace of the class too slow. Those students might enjoy the Level II & III classes. I find that I can always challenge myself in class so I am not looking for more at this point. Classes are $15 for walk ins and there are discounts available for multiple class packages.
