It was a success! My kitty was happy and eating again by the very next day! Other than the staff being caring, they were prompt! In an emergency, this is where I will go from now on. What I appreciated most is the empathy. I've had to use an emergency vet before and it was not so friendly.

At first before we took him in my husband called and asked if we should take him in because we didn't know if it was that serious but wanted to make sure because our dog is still a puppy six months old. The lady told us she would put us on hold for a brief moment and check with the vet to see if we should come in because she wasn't sure. We then proceeded to wait on the phone for 25 minutes on hold at 11 o'clock at night. Then the phone just randomly hang up so I was in a rage because I'm just trying to make sure my dog is OK so I called back. I asked politely if they were in fact, open and the same lady answered and said yes we are. I told her how we were just on the phone for 25 minutes and then got hung up on and she said nothing about that. She then told me to call poison control, which I then informed her was only for humans not for dogs. She told me I could " come in if I wanted to" which was absolutely not the response I was looking for. All I wanted to know is if my dog was going to be OK and if I should bring him in so I ended up bringing him in anyways. Once I was there, they told me it was going to be a several hour wait so we got ready and sat down. A lady came out did not even look or check it. My dog did not even touch him and told us that we could just go home. Again, not the answer I was looking for. We just drove 45 minutes here to the emergency vet so that my dog could get this rendered be fat out of his system so that he did not get sick. She said " well we could make him throw it up if you would like" I said yes, I would like you to do that since I just drove 45 minutes here. They did that they gave him medication brought him back out. And said it was probably good that we came and he threw it up because that would've made him severely sick. It's just very disappointing that I got terrible care there and I was the one who needed to push and shove to get them to make him throw up when it was so obviously needed. They clearly just did not want to be there and did not want to deal with any of the dogs. The throw up fee was $95 in the actual vet visit fee was $200. Also ridiculous. Next time I won't be taking my dog here I'll be figuring out the solution at home because these people obviously don't care about these dogs or your feelings

Dr Small and staff were the best all the way until she left us. Most recently we had an extremely unexpected emergency with our otherwise very healthy Australian shepherd. She was playful, still eating and drinking but had developed a cough. We were concerned about the respiratory virus because it wasn't getting better on meds. Suddenly she collapsed but was still awake. . I rushed her to the Cove To our complete shock and devastation they found that the sac around her heart was full of blood. Nothing to do with the virus. They were very compassionate explaining the prognosis. We wanted her to be comfortable if possible and get a diagnosis. They performed a procedure to remove the blood and that went well and she was more comfortable. Unfortunately, the next day she was seen by the cardiologist who found that she had a hemangiosarcoma on her heart and her prognosis was grave. Apparently, this is more common than most people realize and is unpredictable- no tests or preventative meds would have helped. It's usually sudden -which it was............. The staff gave us time to process and then when we decided to let her go, they gave us a room to spend as much time as we needed with her ---before and after........ it was devastating and heartbreaking but we were so thankful that she passed peacefully in our arms. Staffing issues have apparently become a big issue with most vet services any more but we were blessed those 2 days and can't thank them enough.
