Shafiaq Khouli and his SK Concrete team built on our back yard a 14' x 14' SPA niche including a…read more12' x 12' x 5" reinforced concrete pad, foundation, drainage, three sides surrounding half high retaining walls and embedded SPA electrical wiring conduit. They also installed footing drain (French drain) on the back retaining wall, backfilled with the usual gravel, crushed stone and covered the outside of the walls with installed paneled stone veneer. They also did the initial former structure demolition, debris hauling and the requested earth moving and other necessary small retaining walls reassembly. It sounds like an easy simple job but, believe me, it got complicated quite soon. Along the construction way, I was able to interact with the crew and bounce ideas and corrections which were followed to my customer satisfaction, resulting in more than a very acceptable final product. When the inevitable, beyond his control, the one odd crew helper misbehavior occurred on the job, this contractor immediately corrected it, got on top of the problem and smoothly and quickly we had no more of an issue here. He also facilitated for me the customer to bring my own tile / stone wall-caps products and installer guys, which ended doing a beautiful job we're very proud of. Pricing fair, not inexpensive. Job done acceptable, with your own (the customer) continuous supervision and being able to stop working crew's irreparable mistakes before they happened, however, the final product came out well built and functional as we imagined and expected, we are grateful for that. Thanks again to Shafiaq and SK Concrete for accepting working on our small home project and for including us in their busy commercial and industrial schedule.

The site was a little trickier than it looked, so I appreciated the communication with the team to make sure everything looked correct before pouring it. I'd definitely use them again.

Highly recommend! That could be the end of this review! But read on to find out why…read more We initially worked with a landscape architect. We liked the ideas the architect offered but not the cost as quoted by the contractor the architect referred us to. So we decided to contract our own specialists - act as our own general contractor. SD Paverscapes was one of three paver contractors we contacted. Luis was quick to respond and listened to our ideas. He provided us with a plan we loved and a price we could handle. The installation crew was absolutely first rate. It was a pleasure to watch craftsmen apply their skills! The result is fabulous! Honestly, it turned out better than we had imagined! As with ALL contractors, you - as the client - need to always be communicating with Luis. We made slight modifications to our original plan as the work progressed, but they all were fine because we were in constant dialog with Luis.

He was extremely responsive during the entire process, great about adding his input and suggestions as needed, and very patient with us as we went back and forth on all the details. His crew were all very respectful of our property and questions, tidying up at the end of each work day. The final product is beautiful and exactly what we wanted for our growing family. No regrets going with Luis and will not hesitate to reach out to him when we want to start our next big landscaping project. Also a bonus that his estimate was much more reasonable than other companies we contacted.

A&F Concrete did an excellent job installing a 20' sidewalk and a very nice 5x5 foot masonry wall…read more As instructed, San Diego Buff concrete was used for the sidewalk. I was given an excellent variety of bricks/blocks to choose for the wall, and the one I chose was competently installed. I was pleased to note the block I chose would be sourced from RCP in Chula Vista, where I have been a regular customer. The two workers agreed to relocate the existing pavers for my reuse as part of the original job. I really appreciated that. Although I was in no hurry, the job was completed quite expeditiously with the exception of the iron gate, the installation of which was subcontracted (and reviewed separately). The final results please me immensely. A&F solved a major problem, and I recommend the company to all.

Adam Fisher, the owner of the company, came to quote a patio and offered to take off our steps and…read morepour the concrete under them, something that multiple other contractors that came for quotes did not see necessary. In the process, Adam and team broke the stairs immediately, and reassembled them with screws sticking out and chunks broken remains used to "level" the remaining stairs (photos of all work attached.) While on site, Adam asked for "200-300$" outside of the scope of the signed contract for the same work that would have been done with or without the additional request. Through the phone exchanges and emails regarding these issues Adam was arrogant and dismissive, yet also took blame for the stairs and will not resolve the issue. Adam's team poured our concrete before a heavy rain, but failed to redirect a gutter (as it had originally been before construction) from pouring directly onto the concrete causing a water stain from the pooling water on the fresh concrete. Again, when confronted with this issue and asking for a resolution Adam denied blame and said "wait a year". As of 6/11/26 there has been no reply nor efforts made on behalf of this company to repair any personal property damage nor resurface the concrete stain/ finish the job as fully paid for.
