I was selling another property and just wasn't comfortable with the escrow company being suggested, especially after seeing their reviews on Yelp and Google. I was ready to fall back on one of the three escrow companies I have previously used, but was also surprised to find that their recent reviews were no longer impressing me, so I searched for a new escrow company and came across Lighthouse. There were lots of excellent real customer reviews, and they had a legitimate webpage that estimated my fees, a list of people working there with their bios, and the company felt very professional compared to the others. I was impressed that not only did somebody answer the phone, but they were also able to answer all my questions. After a few phone calls with Lighthouse, I requested them to be the new escrow company and the realtor and buyer both agreed. I can say without any doubts that my experiences with Danylle Hallahan at Lighthouse Escrow and her team were outstanding and exceeded anything I've experienced through several other escrow companies I've used. All the fees were clearly laid out before me, and there were no hidden fees. The best part was their communication. They immediately sent me a timetable informing me of when specific things in this process are supposed to happen along with their contacts incase I had any questions. Everybody was kept in the loop during the entire process, and if I had any questions, Danylle always answered her phone or got back to me shortly with answers. I called in to them this morning to confirm information so we could send a large wire to them. I…read morespoke to Esther and just have to say she was very disrespectful on so many levels. There is a lot of fraud out there, so I completely understand being safe and asking for information before confirming information. I had all the instructions and was just asking for her to verify. I told her the name of the real estate agent we were sending the wire for, and she instantly became very angry and raised her voice and replied; "she already called me this morning and I told her we do NOT have the revised wire amount ready for her yet, and now she has you calling us?!" I replied that the realtor had literally just given us the updated wire amount, moments before; and I provided that new number to Esther. Esther then placed me on hold without telling me - and I was about to hang up when she came back on the line and told me that I had the correct "revised" wire amount. I had one more thing to clarify, as their wire instructions are 3 pages (I have never seen them this long) and they separate the Escrow Company, and then list another completely separate block of information titled "BENEFICIARY BANK" as though they are separate items. I just asked and wanted to be sure there wasn't an intermediary bank (as there often is). I had one account number and one ABA number, but wanted to be 100% sure that they went together with how the directions were spaced out - and separated - it did not look like they were the same party. She said; "I can't give you information, you need to call the realtor." I had given her all the numbers, and she just got stuck on being sure to make me call the realtor (that I could tell she was already angry at). We had no choice as we had less than 2 hours to get the wire processed. .. And the realtor was of course, not happy that we had to call her and she said that the wire details were included in the instructions she provided to us. The realtor advised that Bank of America had just transmitted with those exact instructions and it went through without a problem. Hearing that helped me determine there was no intermediary bank. It's just so sad that she simply refused to just tell me that. My ONLY goal was to not make any mistakes on an extremely large wire. There were so many people it would have affected if I had not done things correctly. We need to be kind and grateful that we have people being careful for MUTUAL clients that we serve. I really do not understand why people take things personally and are so unkind and unprofessional. I can see this company has great reviews, so this might be a bad apple. In the end our wire went through properly.
