Be careful when shopping at this store. If you buy something, inspect it carefully before leaving. I purchased two wedding bands for over $6,000 a week ago, right before the store closed. The employee was rushing to wrap everything up, so I didn't have a chance to thoroughly inspect the rings. When I got home, I noticed multiple scratches and marks on both rings. The following weekend, I returned to the store to see if they could either fix the issue or exchange the rings. No one wants damaged wedding rings, especially after paying full price for brand-new jewelry. Unfortunately, my experience with one salesperson, Eric, was extremely disappointing. Without checking any details or speaking with the employee who sold me the rings, he immediately said, "We already sold this to you. The scratches didn't happen with us." His tone was dismissive, arrogant, and completely unprofessional. There was no investigation, no attempt to understand the situation, and no apology. He simply insisted that the damage was my fault and that the store would do nothing about it. I was shocked by how I was treated. I repeatedly asked to speak with the salesperson who originally helped me, but Eric refused. It took me asking twice to speak with someone else before he finally stepped away. Thankfully, the salesperson who originally sold me the rings eventually came over. She was polite, professional, and helped polish the rings. By that point, I was so frustrated that I was seriously considering returning everything and taking my business elsewhere. I've had excellent experiences with Tiffany & Co. in the past, where cleaning, service, and customer care were handled professionally. The contrast here was striking. One employee's behavior can seriously damage a luxury brand's reputation. If you decide to shop at this store, I strongly recommend working with someone other than Eric. read more

How do you best handle retail workers who believe the law is not as important as company policy, especially one that lives in the world of Dunning Kruger? I tried picking up a ring that needed a stone replaced. It took two, yes 2 months to insert a melee and it only cost $500.00 for a stone that is worth $10.00 at best. The store manager refused to do the transaction even with documentation to acquire. Randy said that I would need to be willing to volunteer my personal information to be provided and placed in a Tiffany Database in perpetuity. He said this was company policy, but it isn't the law. Randy then decided to call my wife and be an arrogant individual. I had a really disappointing experience with Tiffany & Co. I ordered wine glasses as a wedding gift at this location and paid extra to have the couple's initials etched on them. I placed the order in early February and was told they would be ready for pickup in 2-3 weeks. After over three weeks with no call or email, I followed up and was told the glasses had been ready for pickup for a while--yet I was never notified. When I finally picked them up, I discovered that the etching hadn't even been done. With only a week left before the wedding, they told me they would have to send the glasses back, and it would take another 2-3 weeks. They also said they couldn't expedite it because the etching process is delicate. I get that mistakes happen, but for a luxury brand, I expected better communication and attention to detail. Do I recommend Tiffany for jewelry and watches? Yes. Do I recommend going to this boutique in SF? NO! I went to this particular location for a return. I bought my item at another Tiffany store but SF was closest to me, so I went there out of convenience. I was immediately greeted like how you would be greeted if you were going to buy something, but the moment I asked for a return I was giving terrible service. I was working with a person named Tanjuankio on my return. She was perhaps the rudest most unprofessional sales agent there. At first, she questioned the return/authenticity of the item. I had the receipt, box, and all the accessories that come with a standard piece of Tiffany jewelry. I was within my time window of the 30 day return period, so I figured this would be an easy, no questions asked type of return. Nope, not with this lady. She asked that in order for me to return the item I would need the original Tiffany bag which I thought was ludicrous. I explained to her that all of the original Tiffany packaging as it relates to the item was there, so at this point we were arguing over a silly 10 cent bag. After a few tries, her manager stepped in to look at the item, receipt, and said yes we can accept the return. At this point, Tanjuakio was frustrated since she had to process the return. Right before she rang me up, she again mentioned that I needed the Tiffany bag. I immediately called her out and told her no that's not necessary and told her to stop being argumentative with me (a customer). After she processed the return, I immediately left the store. I would like to note that I've spent $10's of thousands of dollars at Tiffany's. But that's not the point, I guessed because I didn't have the right bag, was coming for a return, and dressed in shorts, I was treated like some sort of criminal or homeless man to be questioned at every turn. I'm hoping to follow up with the store director because this sales agent's attitude and overall decorum was trashy and unprofessional. read more

I visited this afternoon to shop for an engagement ring, and apart from the gentleman at the door (who was incredibly welcoming and helpful), the associates are exceptionally talented at ignoring you. We were directed to a back room on the second floor, where there were 3 groups. One couple who was being helped when we arrived, ourselves, and another customer. 1 associate behind the counter. She finished with the couple, and I told her the other customer was there before us. She proceeded help the other person, so we continued to patiently wait. About 5 minutes later, an employee wielding a laptop entered. "Great, she called someone up to help us", I thought. Wrong. He told her he was just gonna sit up there at the desk, opened his laptop and started typing and chuckling at his screen. After about 20 minutes, I asked if there was anyone who could help us. Associate 1 looked at me as if I had asked her how to split the atom. Laptop guy, after watching us just wait for 15 minutes told us he would check if there was someone who would could help. Too little, too late, unfortunately. I get it, it's just a job. Looking at how I'm dressed, I'm sure you don't really expect to make a sale, so it's all the same if you ignore me. It's a choice, just like my choice to take my business somewhere else. We came here twice within a week. The first time we came, We were told that we needed an appointment but we were free to look around. As we were looking, a kind lady said that if I saw anything I liked to let her know. We were then approached by Michael who assisted me in trying on engagement rings. We had another appointment at Harry Winston and walked around Cartier. I liked the service that Michael gave and we went back a few days later to pick up my wedding set. Tina and Michael were hospitable and fantastic. They have a beautiful selection of many types of jewelry, and especially engagement rings. Gigi is professional and polished, as is to be expected here. But she is so much more than a capable member of the Tiffany's team. She is down to earth, relatable, approachable. She actually came across as "one of the girls." And she did so seemingly without effort. I was visiting the store with one of my besties, and she and I were actually on our way out. We were doing one last walk through... It's hard to leave Tiffany's. Gigi offered her assistance. She said we were welcome to try pieces on. Update... l took my ill fitting, cracked bracelet to my local jeweler in the hopes that he could repair the bracelet since Tiffany could care less. My jeweler is an exceptionally talented and very experienced goldsmith. I was notified today that he cannot repair the crack as the bracelet is NOT SOLID GOLD, BUT ONLY GOLD PLATED! SERIOUSLY? I was just stunned when l discovered this. What a total rip off! He explained that were he to repair the crack, it would cause the bracelet to break as it is hollow inside....a risk he rightly wouldn't take. The size is not adjustable either. So, the bottom line is that l am stuck with a ludicrously overpriced bracelet that is of exceptionally poor quality. I am in the midst of trying to establish my next move to protect my rights. If you are considering purchasing a Tiffany piece in the near future, l would seriously think twice as the quality is subpar and the customer support completely nonexistent! We originally had an appointment at Cartier in Union Square, however, upon our arrival, the staff at Cartier told us that they had no record of our appointment in their system. To say I was disappointed was an understatement because we were looking forward to our experience of buying my fiancés ring there. We decided to go up the street to Tiffany, as my fiancé had purchased my ring there a year prior. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Fume, who was so sweet and made us feel right at home. We told her our experience down the street and she immediately pulled out all the stops for us to have an amazing afternoon at Tiffany's. She escorted us upstairs to a Sales Associate, Wade, and they set us up in the room upstairs. We were gifted champagne, macaroons, and chocolates. But more importantly, they spoiled us by bringing us the rings that my fiancé was interested in. It didn't take long for my fiancé to pick her ring. I have been a customer of this store and Tiffany & Co for the past 30 plus years. We have purchased jewelry and items from their home decor in San Francisco store, Walnut Creek, New York and all over the world. I have a large vase that has been purchased in San Francisco store some 20 years ago and now I would like to pass it down to my daughter. This past Saturday afternoon, I have stopped by to have the vase wrapped and be ready to gift. When I walked in the store I was met by one of the associates and asked what's the purpose of my visit . I briefly described my need and was advised that an appointment is necessary for something like that, especially on the weekend. He went ahead and showed me the QR code, I copied it, and scheduled time just for the next day, this past Sunday, July 27. I was running a little late and while driving I reached out just to advise that I may be a few minutes late. I ended up speaking to a female associate, I believe her name was Esmeralda. She told me that they wouldn't be able to do that, it's ONLY being done at the time of the purchase. I asked then why I wasn't informed of that by other associate on Saturday, why did he tell me to just schedule an appointment? She told me that I was speaking to their security, the doorman, and he misinformed me. I went on and repeated myself that I was speaking to their sales associate and he gave me a QR code. She was rude, disrespectful, basically implying that I was stupid taking suggestion-recommendation from a doorman... and warned me not to come to the store as nobody will be helping me with this request... WOW, this is customer service at Tiffany's??? It's going to be a very long time until I set my foot at Tiffany's store again especially in San Francisco. When we walked in, there were 3-4 people on the main floor, with an older male worker working at the central island. He immediately greeted us and asked what we were looking for today. We showed him a picture of the promise ring I had wanted, and then directed another female worker, Anna, to show us the ring which was located upstairs. Throughout the entire process, Anna was professional, thorough, and attentive to our concerns and gave us advice as a Tiffany & Co jewelry expert. After purchasing 2 rings, she gave us her business card and told us to contact her anytime. She also gave us a brown bag to put our purchased items in. As we left, the security guard opened the door for us and told us to have a good day. We had a pleasant experience throughout. Note: we weren't particularly dressed-up or anything. A week later: there was a small scratch at the back of my ring (you can't really see it unless you meticulously inspect it) and it definitely wasn't there when we first got it. So we texted Anna and she promptly replied. My BF went in to exchange the ring, but they didn't have it in my size, so they ordered it for me. The spectacular service we got at Tiffanys yesterday deserves a thousand stars. My husband blacked out in front of the store and they opened their doors for the paramedics, fireman, two wonderful policemen and the passerby who was a paramedic. My partner and I were engaged at the time when coming into this store. He took me here to pick out my wedding band. I was dressed pretty down and super casual, so I felt as if they ignored us. Only two people greeted us the whole time. The security at the front and a person at the nearest counter. I see that they gave champagne to people that was just browsing and walked out without purchasing anything. No one really helped us out like how they were helping other people out. Mind you, this was in the evening and the store was pretty empty. It wasn't until we asked a few questions. I wanted to see a few rings, but the older man helping us out seemed like we were a burden. I didn't feel welcomed. Hell, they didn't even try an effort to sell us anything or butter us up. Something that I've always experienced at other Tiffany & Co stores! The vibe was just awkward... Until my partner and I finally decided on the band I wanted, all we said was "we'll take this one." That is when the older man decided to perk up, start awkwardly smiling (fake as hell lol), pour us a glass of champagne, and theeeeen thats when he tried to sell us more jewelry. Our go to sales rep in SF is Jackie Smith who is an absolute delight; always happy to help with big or small purchases. Yes, of course, its a silly extravagance; but, a new life is to be celebrated with joy and extravagance! We also couple that gift with a family favorite children's book, Goodnight Moon. I am a quality driven person. You can read it in my reviews. You see it in person. This is not a pretentious thing. It is a personal thing. I don't think my taste is better than anyone else's. . . but I also won't apologize for it. Tiffany diamonds are unapologetically perfect. They do not do large stone diamonds because they focus on the sweet spot. This often means a lot of stone is cut away and rendered not good enough. I love that. Like reviews for Opus One Winery, you will read reviews here of silly statements like "I don't see the big deal". That is fair. I don't worry about the opinion of people who cannot afford something so they complain - as if that makes it any less special. If you can - do. If you can't get as close to quality as you can afford. Tiffany and Company has been the hallmark of quality for decades. The service is good (some people are more professional and friendly than others). I have never worn a Tiffany piece without smiling. . . because they are special. Additionally, pieces I no longer wanted were super easy to give to someone else to enjoy.
