All the elements are in place here. Social distancing, masks must be worn upon entering etc. It's been a while since I've been here and Alex, our server, was assigned to our table. Drinks, starters and entrees and even conversation are your typical fare. A portobello mushroom and Sesami Ahi Tuna with a passion fruit cocktail hit the spot. Even the owner came over and bid my friend a "welcome back" hello. Not rushed, and a quiet atmosphere with background music made it an enjoyable evening.

    Crab cakes and veal Sinatra.

Great service, our waiter was good, Food is ok, nothing blew me away. I didn't walk out thinking wow that was excellent. It was just ok. I had the veal Sinatra, if you look at the photo, between the sauce and the water from the veggies it was a wet soggy plate. Veggies zero flavor ( no salt what so ever. If your not going to put salt and pepper on the tables you better make sure you season everything. My son had the crab cakes, just ok. I had a wasabi shrimp appetizer very good, however you get like 8 tiny shrimps . My son had the boneless buffalo bits, they were excellent. Like I said it's just an ok place, I can take it or leave it.

We were quickly seated, and the place was pretty full. It looked like a private event (bridal shower?) was happening outside. We both ordered the same things. The soup and salad option with the French onion upgrade and Caesar salad. The French onion was one of the best I have ever had. The broth was rich, the onions were plentiful, the cheese perfectly toasted, and the crouton the perfect foil. It was so good we ate it slowly and even drank the broth (I know that's uncouth, but it was so good and nobody knew us there) from the bowls. We even scraped off every single bit of the toasty cheese on the sides of the bowl. I would go there just for the soup. The salad was also good. A small portion since it was a combo option, but the dressing was excellent, there were large shreds of asiago cheese, and actual anchovies. The only complaint was that it wasn't a bigger salad. Again, left nothing on the plate. The soup and salad dish was $15 because of the upgrade for the French onion soup. The service was fantastic. The place has a rustic but elegant feel. Lots of wood. I bet this place is beautiful decorated for Christmas. Great experience and a perfect place to eat on the first day of a road trip.

As for the food, the bangers and mash are definitely a favorite. It tastes just like what I had when I visited England a number if years ago. The shepherd's pie and flatbreads are also delicious. Don't sleep on the weekly specials, either! There's something new every time we go in. They play trivia most Friday nights. It's a quaint Irish pub owned by Eric and his wife Chrissy. We sat at the bar and they were very welcoming. We both had soup - loaded potato and the seafood chowder. Then I had scallops and shrimp with Mac and cheese and my husband had wings fries and salad. Everything was delicious. The desserts are made by Chrissy and do not disappoint, though we had to take ours to go since we were so full. Anyway, definitely recommend if you're looking for a home away from home atmosphere and some really good food.
