There is so much deliciousness here. Too much to try in one visit, so we will need to return for another helping. The seafood Fra Diavolo was the best I've tasted. Meatball and sauce are top notch and I'm a meatball and sauce girl to the end. The salmon with pecan & brown sugar crust was plentiful and equally delicious served with a side of garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. Inside and outside dining available. Both were equally comfortable. Excellent service. Leisurely paced dining experience. Will most definitely return. It's no longer a BYOB but that made no difference. Plenty of wines and cocktails to choose from.

    Complementary charcuterie to start

Very cozy small atmosphere so I suggest to make reservations! We enjoyed the food reminded me of the old Billy bs in dunmore. I love that they start you off with a complementary little charcuterie board!! The service was very good. But the cook just read the order wrong. I ordered medium well they thought it was medium so they cooked it back up for me and it was delicious.. my husband enjoyed the fish also.

Pork belly, not as crispy as I though. But it was tender good taste.

Food and service are excellent but the place is a bit small and gets crowded and difficult to move around and get seated comfortably.

It was TOTALLY worth the wait; however, if you are limited on time, order ahead. The food was delicious! I ordered the chicken/shrimp hibachi, which came with perfectly cooked Japanese fried rice, vegetables (onion, carrot, squash and some kind of bluish cabbage?) and "yummy" sauce (which IS very yummy BTW--ask for extra and thank me later). The shrimp was grilled and not overcooked. The grilled chicken chunks were tender. The food was so good I almost choked on a piece of rice from inhaling my food lol. #IcantbelieveIatethewholething They give you a nice portion of food--I was full a little more than halfway through but it was so good, I couldn't stop eating. Warm, attentive service without hovering...exactly what you want for a special night. We started with the fried calamari and shrimp cocktails. Calamari was golden, tender, zero rubbery pieces, and the shrimp cocktail was huge, fresh, and perfectly chilled. Already a win. For mains, we went all out: Ribeye Steak cooked to a perfect medium-rare with a great sear, Rack of Lamb that was tender and seasoned beautifully, Lobster Crab & Seafood Fra Diavolo with just the right kick, and the Crab & Shrimp Spinach Fettuccine was creamy, packed with seafood, and didn't skimp on the crab. Every plate came out hot and every bite was spot-on. Portions are generous, vibe is cozy but still feels special enough for a 50th, and they even helped us make the birthday moment memorable. No rushed tables, no attitudejust great food and genuine hospitality. If you're in Simpson or driving through, Frank's Place is worth the stop. We'll be back with more friends in tow. Today, Sunday March 1st was a special day for my wife and I, and since we haven't been to the restaurant in several months, we thought we'd stop by and get a delicious meal. My wife ordered the seafood dinner with all the various options, and I ordered the New York strip steak with a baked potato and broccoli. Well, I never complain about a meal. Most time if a meal isn't good, I just say thanks and pay my bill. However, I felt so disappointed after leaving here that I doubt we will ever go back. The young blonde girl on staff was not very friendly, but that's OK, because I know people have things going on. However, I said I wanted my steak well-done. As we waited for our meals we had a coffee and a soda. Coffee was very good. Then, the dinners were brought out in a very short time. I was happy about that because I was starving. Anyway, I take a bite of my steak and it's bloody. I was a little upset they didn't bring me what I wanted but I wasn't about to complain. Then, the steak tasted like it was rolled in a bucket of salt and served to me. I've had many steaks over the years, and I had the steak at your restaurant before, so I assumed it would be the same. I can honestly say that in my 46 years I never tasted such a salty piece of steak. I have high Cholesterol as it is, and I felt like I was going to take a stroke. My wife's fish and crab cakes were also loaded with salt. I still didn't say anything because I was trying to be a good guy. But then I tasted the baked potato and that was rolled in salt, too. I ate the skin and it was crunchy with loads of salt. Then, I went to try my broccoli and it was ice cold. At that point I was really thirsty and we both wanted refills on our drinks, but the little blonde girl never came over to ask how was everything or see if we needed refills. I had to ask one of the other young girls to get my check. When she gave me my check she threw it on the table and walked away. The bill came to 54 dollars and I even left her a five dollar tip because I was trying to be a good customer but she would have received a much bigger tip if her manners were better. This was supposed to be a special day for my wife and I, and we specifically chose your restaurant because we always had good food and service during our previous visits. I can honestly say that this was a terrible experience and it destroyed what started out as a good day. I will probably not be back, and that's sad, because at one time this restaurant was one of my favorites, but lately it has been suffering from bad staff and cooks. I'm sorry it had to come to this.

My most recent stop was only to pick up some sliced almonds ($3.29) for a recipe -- an item that the two nearby Dollar Stores didn't carry. While there, I also passed a nice display of dried chili peppers, and bought some arbol chilis on whim ($2.29 for 3 oz). Relative to the grocery stores closer to my home, Weis has a far more extensive selection of items. For example, the fruits and vegetables, and salad bar, seem gigantic in comparison. And, as mentioned, I was able to pick up a specialty item, the arbol chilis that aren't available closer to home. Prices are seemingly a bit higher than home, and higher than some groceries stores headed towards Scranton but you'll save some on gas! One odd thing. I found on my receipt that I had earned a few Weis Rewards Points that could be used for gas at Weis' Gas-and-Go, Sunoco, or Mirabiro Fuel locations. However, the points were expiring the very next day (on Nov 25). I am happy to have this store in Carbondale. Staff were friendly. Check-out was easy. Parking was plentiful.

This place was largely a mystery before we dropped in. All we knew, we saw on Facebook. We're glad…read morewe stopped in. First off, there was a cutout of Donald Trump in the corner of the bar, and the owner and another patron were discussing politics. I don't enjoy politics with my meals, whether I agree or not. As far as cons, the menu is pretty small. There are about 15 appetizer options and a similar number of sandwiches. There's pizza. 1 steak option. Half a dozen or so seafood options and 4 pasta options. There were also I think 4 desserts. The place was not at all busy; at 6 p.m., we were the first customers. There was a TV on in the bar and Elvis music in the dining room, and the two overlapped, which wasn't great. Neither of us used the bathroom, but judging by the size of the door and the corner they were crammed into, porta-potties may be more spacious. No verdicts on the bar or desserts, we didn't order any of these. Now for the pros: this place is run by an elderly couple who have clearly been doing this a while. He waits tables and tends the bar, she cooks. He took very good care of us but didn't hover. I had rigatoni with meatballs and the hubby had angel hair with meatballs. Both meals came with soup or salad and bread for $16.95. I had the salad, simply dressed with oil, garlic, and red wine vinegar. Hubby had the Italian wedding soup, which was clearly home made and he enjoyed it. While the noodles were standard prepackaged fare. I liked the meatballs more than the hubby; they were tender and decent sized and well-seasoned. Our meals came with two meatballs, and really, a third one would have been more proportional to the quantity of pasta. But the sauce! This was sauce to write home about. It was rich and smooth, not overly seasoned or sweet marinara. Hubby rated it a 9 out of 10, saying that better sauce could be out there, but he hasn't had it. There was also enough sauce. They didn't skimp. And the pasta was well cooked and well drained so it didn't water down the sauce. The bread in a basket with butter was a welcome addition that came with our meals. All in all, the experience wasn't perfect, but it was good. Politics aside, consider stopping in if you're in the area.
