The Zaika round buffet table. You can also order off the menu.
Glen B.

I used to eat at Zaika regularly but got out of the habit during the pandemic. I'm glad to see that little if anything has changed. Most people chose the buffet which in January 2023 was $23.00 per person at lunch time and $32.00 for evenings. That's quite a difference and as far as I know the supper buffet is the same as the lunch buffet . Zaika has been around for a long time so they are doing something right. I've been to other Indian buffets and still like Ziaka best. It's not quite as spicy as the others but the food is certainly not bland. The round buffet table is always remarkably tidy and has all the main dishes that you might want. Beside the round buffet table is a small dessert and salad bar. I've rarely found anything I like at the salad bar but the mango pudding from the dessert bar is quite good. The service is always friendly and fast. Every time we got up for seconds our plates were removed before we returned. If you enjoy Indian cuisine I would certainly recommend Zaika. Go for the lunch first as it really is quite a good deal.

Lamb Korma $25 Zaika 2303 Ellwood Drive SW Zaika must scour the depths of hell to make their Lamb Korma. I politely asked the restaurant to give me a spice level corresponding to femme-fatale Bipasha Basu's movies. However, I think her terrible films must be under Zaika's radar because they ignored my request and taunted me with more spice than a Michael Douglas erotic thriller. Sweating profusely, with a burning tongue, a tinnitus-like sensation in my ears, and a numb right nostril, I tried to power through the korma, but it features the kind of fiery heights that local Indian restaurants don't touch because they're sycophantic caucasian-pleasers. I don't know what it is - maybe it's the immigrant beatings of my childhood that turned me into a masochist - but I love painful amounts of spice. And Zaika pushed my nociceptors to their limit with this satanic product. At times, I felt like I was dipping my naan into Mola Ram's lava pit. And no amount of Om Namah Shivayas will save my chittar-hole from a legendary punishment tomorrow. Zaika's chunky, sturdy, and delicious lamb cubes - they don't rely on that stringy, fatty, and flavourless low-quality crap at my dad's favourite Indian restaurants - are immersed in a superb curry, featuring the perfect balance of mirch and masala. Yes, the korma is stupid-hot, but that's my personal preference. And the spice level doesn't prevent the korma from delivering the Zaika flavours that have enchanted Edmonton for over a decade. Unfortunately, I now feel like I've unleashed cenobites in my stomach and dread the afternoon #2s that await me tomorrow. My stomach is rumbling harder than the WWE in January. But this dish is a beautiful thing, touched by all the gods that make a cameo on Jimi Hendrix's sophomore album cover. My Rating: 5/5 (Flawless Victory)

Best presentation and quality buffet I've had.

I had the buffet it was the best quality buffet I've had in a long while. Great atmosphere. Impeccable service . After I stuffed my face at the buffet I then took to the menu to order more dishes to take home . Thanks for lunch Zaika!

A bit far out of town but good none the less. However, due to it being on the South side it has ample parking and the space is very big. I believe these are the same owners that opened up Tiffin, which is cool so I'm glad to see that they're expanding. I love the layout of the place and the circular buffet. Everything is laid out very nicely and it is visually appealing! The food is great too. I think they have a very good selection of vegetarian options which is awesome! I think the best part about this place is the service though. We had a very attentive and helpful server who kept our waters filled, made conversation and answered out questions. Definitely the best part!

My husband and I ordered take out for dinner from Zaika recently. We love the fish curry and the lamb curry dishes. They come with naan bread as well but we always order a garlic naan bread as well because it's so delicious!!!

Pretty good east indian food! The buffet is affordable around 22 for dinner It is fresh!! Probably one of the better indian spots in the city. You can also order off the menu which i have never done as the buffet is that good. They also have good drinks! They always keep the nan bread loaded! There are 2 sides in the restaurant so im sure having a private party would be easy to arrange! The other side is booths and tables. Modern decor. Waitresses have always been friendly and quick! Modest amount of parking and location is okay for south side edmontonians!

I'm so glad to see this area of the city growing. Although I do not live remotely close to Zaika (it takes me 30+ minutes to drive there, actually) I love that there are people making things work in new areas that aren't chain restos! Zaika is owned by a young couple who got their start under the people at India Garden I believe. It's in a new suburb as I mentioned, next to a south asian grocer (owned by the sister of the woman running Zaika) and a few other interesting shops. This is an area growing up quickly! When I first entered Zaika I was worried it would be all style and no substance. This is not the case at all. The food is well flavoured with fresh ingredients. Even their buffet is top notch: no dry, gloppy, recycled foods here. There are old favourites, but also some new dishes that may be new to you, or twists on those old favourites. It is a great place to bring someone who is new to Indian cuisine, or even an old hand who is sure to be surprised. Oh: and they have Newcastle on tap!

I phoned and spoke to the manager regarding my concerns, but she chose to do nothing about it - it is still going on and the cigarette butts have never been cleaned up or an ashtray provided. I was extremely disappointed, the food was hard, and cold. The only thing that was edible was the mashed potatoes and gravy, and adobo pork. All the vegetables were very cold, and the chicken balls were hard like a hockey puck, the Chinese noodles were crunchy because they sat out too long. there was butter chicken but only I saw was fried rice until after I saw a rice cooker that had white rice in it. It wasn't labelled, and I was just being snoopy, and that's how I found out. I deeply regret spending that kinda money on a meal I was so unsatisfied with. The dessert section was disappointing as well. I will never go there again.

Pretty consistent, things haven't changed that much and they still have a good variety of food. But it all was lukewarm!! With tip just over $80 for two adults and a senior for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon so not really cheap. At these prices it should be top quality and also HOT not lukewarm.

The meal we took is the deal for two, which included two spring rolls, two wonton soups and chicken fried rice, plus two other entrees (in this case, we ordered lemon chicken, and the beef and broccoli). Food that is served at Beijing House is very complete: soups and appetizers, chicken, beef, seafood, pork, vegetable and chop suey, rice, noodles, chow mein, and egg foo yong. The restaurant has very nice decoration, which is typically Asian. The place is great for lunch and dinner, and whether you are by yourself, small group or having a party gathering. Their selection is quite limited but they have all the essential items that are fairly fresh. However, I've had bad experiences here. When the staff lowered the grill temperature so it took longer to cook the meat, it didn't feel good, especially given that their time limit is shorter than other places. Moreover, when the staff urged us to eat more rice instead of meat, it just felt bad. Feeling judged while dining and leaving an AYCE on a half empty stomach is ...disappointing...I'd give them 4.5/10

We love kbbq but it's very expensive here in Edmonton, and there are only two in the city. It's located in an inconspicuous (weird if you ask me) spot, in a neighbourhood in front of a school. Parking wasn't that difficult to get. Upon arriving we waited 10 minutes for our reservation and we got seated. The vibe and atmosphere of this place is very family-run-authentic. The meats are served buffet style and you grab your own drinks from the soda fountain. Sides of lettuce, salad (my personal fave- amazing vinaigrette to cut the meat), kimchi, bean sprouts, etc. There were also a few variety of fried items. My favorite was the shrimp chips. They also have fried rice but no white rice. Which leads me to my next point-- Service: AMAZING!! One of the older ladies saw my boyfriend and I mixing our fried rice and kimchi to make kimchi fried rice. She asked if we wanted some sesame oil and seaweed to put into our fried rice to make it more bokkeum-bap!! She came back with a bottle of sesame oil and mixed it in for us. The only downsides: They put a piece of parchment paper over the grill which kind of absorbs all the juice. The selection of meat is very limited as well. For 2 people not including our alcohol, it came to about $75 for AYCE. Not too bad considering it's the only other kbbq place in town. Will definitely be regulars!

Their broth was good too - we tried the satay & tom yum and both were flavourful. They've been open under the same management for 11+ years! Covid has been tough - they closed completely when dine in was shut down and are just starting to rebuild business (I don't think they do take out but I'm not 100%). It was completely dead when we were there, minus one other table - and they still kept filling the food with fresh items. They kind of fall under the radar, maybe because they're not as flashy as other places? But they are yummy with super nice people - if you're considering hotpot, it's worth checking out! Not the worst Sunday Brunch in Edmonton but not in my TOP 5. Quantity vs Quality at this Radisson…read moreHotel Sunday brunch. I came looking forward to the Sunday brunch. Who doesn't like roast beef, shrimp and a chocolate fountain? The advertisements in the lobby looked good (see photo) and at $32 a head it's not an unfair price. Unfortunately just like the food at the Lion Head's pub, this Sunday Brunch was a poor experience where nothing was quite right. With one of the largest selections of choices at the buffet this brunch looks great on paper but unfortunately it's just not there for quality. Starting from the top 1. The Carving station is dry and they will not cut you any piece except from the end. When you leave a piece of meat under a heat lamp, it's going to get dry. When I left he was still serving off the same piece of dried meat. People coming in later were still getting the same piece of meat that was served for 2hrs. 2. The Eggs Benedict speaks for itself(look at the photos). Who leaves Eggs Benny's in a warming tray with sauce on? Gross. 3.There were 3 hot mashed mashed potato tureens. THREE! Who needs 3 choices of mashed potatoes. The problem was , none of them were good. Gluey, as you can imagine from having sat there for hours . 4. The Omelette station looks great, and we tried it and noticed immediately these were not fresh eggs. I asked the cook and she said, they use liquid egg unless you specifically ask for fresh egg. The biggest problem with the ATRIUM is that it survives off of the teams and hotel guests that stay there. It doesn't really have to try hard to do ok. If you live in the city skip this over priced version of a Buffet Royale. I'm giving it 2.5 stars. Why did it get 2 stars? Nothing stood out, not one piece of food Why did it not get 1 stars? Great Service Lots of Free parking around.
