I'm always so happy to pick up flowers from them because (1) they are fabulous people and (2) their flowers are always beautiful. I can be rather particular about my flowers so I opted to place an order for 3 custom arrangements for Mother's day. In the order, I had requested certain flowers and colors. They had called to follow up on vase or no vase and whether the flowers would be out of water for long. I love how attentive and thoughtful they are to all aspects of the process. When I arrived for my order, I was so happy and pleased with how beautiful the arrangements turned out. I appreciated how they were so detail oriented and committed to ensuring my wishes were met but also demonstrated their own creative and brilliant talents by creating 3 different but wonderful arrangements. I also loved the mix of fully bloomed flowers, partially bloomed, and buds that were included. My mother, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law all sent photos mid-week because the flowers were blooming so well, and they were so grateful for the bouquets. Now that I have some time away from wedding planning I have decided to review this place. We scheduled an appointment to discuss floral options for our wedding on a Saturday morning with Tim. We drove from Queens, NY and saw the place is closed with no one in sight. We were puzzled but still tried emailing Tim couple of times while waiting in front of the shop. The business never followed up with a response and we never received an apology for wasting our time. Hidden gem in Teaneck! I've been to many flower shops around the area and I am bummed that I haven't discovered this sooner. This was my first time ordering from Tiger Lily Flowers, and came across the great reviews on Yelp. I took a chance with this particular florist because the arrangements offered online were gorgeous! I ordered the Gorgeousification arrangement through their website, and received an email confirmation with all the details. I was a little nervous about the delivery because it was going to Alpine, NJ (where deliveries are not usually made), and gave the florist a call. I spoke with Tim on the phone, and he was incredibly friendly and considerate of my request. There was an issue with the availability of peonies (it's not in season apparently, and very expensive to get them right now), but Tim made sure to include them in the final arrangement! He also personally delivered the flowers, and communicated with my mom (it was her birthday) to make sure she was home upon delivery--he didn't want them to wither outside. Overall, the experience was seamless, easy, and hassle-free, which is exactly what I wanted. The fact that he did everything I asked for so last-minute (I ordered them in the morning, and they were delivered at the EOD) was even more amazing. As soon as I walk in the shop and ask first question, the owner let me know that he is very busy today and I should better come tomorrow,as he is does not have time for my questions and can not show me anything. He got on defencive when i ask him about quality of the flowers and yet, find time to talk about him teaching in Columbia and being an artist. Really? Working with Tim at Tiger Lily was a delight from the moment we stepped into the Cedar Lane store. Tim was welcoming, open-minded, and eager to brainstorm with us and was very open-minded throughout the whole design process for centerpieces for our winter wedding this past February. With that said, after clearly expressing our wishes for the design of our centerpieces we were STUNNED when we went to see the sample centerpiece a few weeks before the wedding. The centerpiece was nothing like what we had talked about and Tim eagerly worked with us that day to rearrange the centerpiece to our liking and assured us the new design for the centerpiece would be what we were seeing and that he would be available during our reception just in case we needed any last minute changes. This DID NOT happen. The final centerpieces were a watered down version of the design we were shown and no one was available on our wedding day to rectify the changes. With regards to a wedding florist, I would recommend Tiger Lily for maybe smaller weddings or more generic centerpieces. read more

This review is long overdue as our wedding was in June 2012 but i must write it to compliment the wonderful experience that Tim provided for us. Flowers were one of the last things we looked into for our two-day wedding and honestly were the least informed about (style, budget needed, etc). Tim was amazing in helping us make decisions that were not only within our budget but really part of our vision. We had a two-day event and required the bridal bouquet both days but the larger centerpieces on the second day only. Tiger Lily delivered the flowers to both venues (even though one was 1.5 hrs away) in a timely fashion and even stayed to make sure the florals looked perfect and fresh for pictures. What's more, he made a complimentary bouquet for us to take home when we went for our appointment and instead of letting me use the same bridal bouquet (which I totally was expecting to do) on both days, he made a fresh one for gratis on the second day as a surprise. The owner is a pleasure to deal with and custom makes a bouquet to my price point -- I just tell him that i want a bouquet for X dollars and he makes it up and it always comes out beautiful (my wife knows flowers but I don't so I just tell him to use his judgement on what to put in and my wife is happy with the results so I am too) I've been surprised too at how long they last so I guess they're very fresh. In the past, at other stores, I've always been a bit intimidated getting flowers because I don't know anything about them -- I can identify a rose and a sunflower but that's about it -- but I'm very comfortable at Tiger Lilly. The arrangements I received were gorgeous and they lasted for a very long time. The nurses on the floor said that they had never seen such beautiful arrangements. We checked out this Yelp page when we were booking venues and we fell in love with the purple and creamy colored flowers and centerpieces featured on this page. The bridal bouquets turned out pretty close to the photo and what we were shown in the shop, but there were issues with a few of our centerpieces. Some of the arrangements. The flowers looked on some of them looked wilted. We were able to get a partial refund after the fact.
