This isn't a review for the flowers, but a heads up about the owner. I would have never imagined that calling the business line of someone who makes flowers for a living would end up with a threat of physical violence against me. The owner of this shop parked his commercial vehicle behind mine where there was a hydrant, so in trying to squeeze in he had hit and damaged my bumper. No big deal, happens all the time in NYC, so I called the number on his van and asked him to help settle it. He insisted that he was there first (parked unattended in front of a hydrant no less) and that I had actually hit his car. Okay whatever, I guess this is just going to be settled with insurance then, fine. But what happened next was beyond my comprehension... instead of just hanging up at that point like a normal person would, he went on and said he was watching me this entire time and watched me hit his car and warned me about playing games with him. He got increasingly agitated and then said, I'm coming down and I'm going to hit you in the head. I asked him if that was a threat and he said yes, so needless to say I left quickly and filed a police report. If someone calls your place of business with a fairly usual NYC fender bender issue and you respond by threatening to physically assault them, then you have no business in NYC, or anywhere really. Ask the NYPD for complaints against Heather Floral's listed business number and you'll see I'm not BSing. read more

I used Heather Floral to send flowers ACROSS THE STREET to a performer's dressing room at Carnegie Hall for the performer's solo Carnegie Hall debut - which is a BIG deal. THE FLOWERS WERE DELIVERED TO THE WRONG ADDRESS. HOW MANY CARNEGIE HALLS ARE THERE??? They were to be delivered ACROSS THE STREET. You've got to be kidding me. It's not like they can just try again and the delivery can be made the next day, since it was a one time event, and even if they perform at CH again, it will never again be their debut. Heather Floral blew it on every level. Not even sure how to comprehend how this particular mishap happened - it's not like Carnegie Hall is some obscure location, especially in proximity to the flower show - which is precisely why I chose them in the first place - certainly they won't mess up a delivery to CH, they must do it all the time, yes? Never would expect the location, inside a 2nd entry at Carnegie Hall, but the small shop has more understanding of art, & aesthetics than a dozen of the ever present flower shops of Manhattan. Be it temporary vase or plant the proprietor Qazi can well advise selection and maintenance. We bought two exotic orchids, and got much advice about how best to make the selection and how to maintain them. read more

I said I wanted something with peonies and gave him a budget and he whipped this arrangement up in 5 minutes. Asked florist to put together a bouquet for friend's graduation. I'm unsure whether the price range I asked for was too low or the florist's aesthetic is just not a good match with my personal preference. I even had some pictures to show him what kinds of colors I want and what kinds of arrangements I had in mind. There was also a little difficulty communicating what I wanted, I'm not sure he really understood. But it would have been better if he could have just told me that what I wanted would cost more if that was the problem. If he was clear about that, I probably would have paid a little more for something that looked more like what I wanted. Anyway, the bouquet wasn't anything I would call amazing for what I paid, including the way he wrapped the flowers. So next time, I will try out a different place and hope to have better luck. read more
