Contacted Midtown Florist after placing an order on her online system. Lady said she was closing in one hour and is unable to deliver just 5 blocks away from her flower shop for my mother's 80th birthday. I tried to plead with her but she said she's closing. I think if you're closing in over an hour and you have the online system set to place orders, you should not deny the option for the customer especially for such an important occasion. This is a type of place that would not care about your concerns even on your most joyous days, like a wedding. Avoid. read more

He was extremely patient, receptive to my comments, worked with the vases I provided, understood and executed my vision perfectly and all at a reasonable price! Beautiful flowers and great service. My dad had originally tried to send me flowers from another company for Valentine's Day, but something went wrong with their shipment and they had to cancel the delivery at the last minute. My dad tried to call multiple florists to see if he could get a bouquet delivered but everyone had already maxed out for the day. When he called Midtown Florist, they had just closed for the day but they graciously went out of their way to deliver me a beautiful bouquet anyways. I was very disappointed with the flowers sent. This was a gift, and I ordered the Manager's standard 'special' which was over $75 ($95+ with credit card fee added on) - and much more than many arrangements I had seen online. It was such a lazy arrangement, not much thought - and cheap flowers were used (carnations and tulips). I was very disappointed when I got to my host's home and saw what was delivered. I gave 2 stars because at least the arrangement was delivered. I will not use this florist again. read more

We had a great experience here! I waited until just over a week before my micro wedding to get flowers, but Ugo didn't let this stop him! We got a couple of boutonnieres, a corsage, six small table arrangements, and my bridal bouquet, and they were all beautiful! The bridal bouquet was especially stunning! We worked with Midtown Florist for our wedding--which involved ten medium sized arrangements, ten larger arrangements, two very large centerpieces, multiple corsages and boutonnieres, my bridal bouquet, and a lovely barrette with flowers for my hair. The shop on Atlantic Avenue is pretty bare bones, so we weren't sure initially what to expect. But Ugo, the shop manager (owner?), was incredibly clear, communicative, and professional every step of the way. He is also very kind, and was really excellent at helping us figure out our vision for our wedding, within our price range, and given the August heat (it was an outdoor event). When we came into the store, he mocked up arrangements and made sure we were happy with the colors, flower types, etc. He mapped out the entire floral set-up for us so we knew exactly what everything would look like--and then he executed that vision with precision. All I can say is that I believe this flower shop should really be getting a lot more business for big jobs such as this! Our wedding was not huge (slightly fewer than 100 people) but still a substantial event. The flowers were affordable, looked amazing, were delivered on time and with care, and really made our day! The black worker inside was very sweet and helped me along the way. The other worker(prob the owner) didnt even acknowledge me. My experience with the Atlantic Ave Brooklyn, NY store: Top people here, warm, congenial and well experienced customer service. Flowers that exceeded my expectations (it's really hard to make the flowers look better than what was on their website - Midtown Florist did.) I came in early August to get some really nice flower arrangements for my beloved mother (Theresa F.) whose funeral / memorial mass was being held at the nearby St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church. I selected the "Tender Sentiments Lily Spray / Premium" and the "Bright Memories Urn Spray / Premium" to adorn my mom's urn. I had a good conversation with the lady who was running the shop that day, she was so patient with me as we went though other possible combinations of flowers and arrangements ('cause flowers have seasons and are not available all the time.) I was nervous, and emotional as this was the first funeral I had ever attended, let alone set up - for my own beloved mother. Midtown Florist worked to make my many concerns and anxieties to rest. On the day of my mom's funeral mass - the two floral arraignments arrived on-time and were stunningly beautiful. I received many complements - and have already recommend Midtown Florist to people I know. Nice prices, very competitive. Flowers, fresh and full of life. What more can one ask of a florist? I was in a hurry home but wanted to stop in and pick up a little cactus. So I did. The little thing looked cool, and I was surprised by the white flowers on a cactus that I thought only grew red ones. Since I don't know the going rates of cacti, I paid what they asked. But two days later I was in Ikea and saw similar-sized cacti for 1/4 the price. D'oh. Then, when I repotted the thing, I had a closer look and discovered the flowers were dried and GLUED ON WITH A HOT-GLUE GUN!! In sum, only go here if you want to spend the extra money for the 3-for-1 cacti, flowers, and glue special. read more

These guys are amazing. Look, I'm not an expert on flowers or florists, but I have certainly bought a lot of flowers for various people from various places over the years. In general, there are lots of decent florists in Brooklyn who are probably kind of expensive but who give you good flowers. What attracted me initially to Midtown was simply that I lived nearby. What brought me back was two things: First, the flowers we bought from them lasted for WEEKS. It's crazy - these flowers look great for far longer than flowers I've gotten elsewhere. It may just be that I'm finally shopping at a decent florist, but man, they look great forever, to the point where it's funny to people. Second, they're awesome to deal with. I usually just give them a price and let them go nuts. They're very friendly and happy to help. At this point, I see no need to shop for flowers anywhere else nearby. I'm very happy with Midtown and will gladly continue to give them my business. read more

Superb friendly and helpful customer service!! Customer service of this caliber is rare in the city but somehow this florist has not let that be an excuse to falter on such exceptional service. I came in and was instantly greeted with a smile. I was looking to make a mini bouquet for my date with a be mine card. The guy saw instantly what I was after and welcomed me to help my self in their flower fridge. The first thing I noticed was the astonishing quality that their roses were in. Each in perfect bloom and breathtaking. Normally and at most florist, you really have to sort through them to find a quality rose. Here, it's not the case. You have a plethora of top-notch roses. What's more, although the help was willing to allow me to help myself, he was very attentive to assisting me picking out complimentary flowers and fetching them for me in a very non-intrusive and friendly way. At the register, the help was excellent at assembling the bouquet, trimming where need be and arranging them in a very complimentary way. Also, I'm pretty sure he went back to fridge to throw in a few extra flowers at no charge to fill in the gaps and make the bouquet look full and complete. Furthermore, he wrapped the bouquet beautifully and tied a ribbon around the "be mine" card I made. The bouquet came out exceptional and way beyond expectation and the customer service made me feel welcome and was very friendly. If that weren't enough, the price for the bouquet was very reasonable. I'd agree with earlier comments that the woman working on the counter is rude and has a terrible attitude. As soon as I walked in, she greeted me with "what do you want?" and a nasty look - not the type of attitude you'd expect from someone selling a product that is supposed to make people smile. The man who put together the arrangement seemed detail-oriented and thoughtful, but unfortunately the quality of the flowers was lower than I expected when I took a closer look back home. I just purchased over $100 worth of plants here. I am considering returning them all over the horrible customer service from the woman behind the counter who took my money. The gentleman who helped me pick out plants was very very nice and knowledgeable. The woman behind the counter ended up scamming me over $3. I paid over $100 on credit card then purchased one more plant and paid with cash. The total was $27.22. I put down a $20 and two $5 bills plus the exact change. I waited for my change. She did not give it to me. I said I am owed $3 change. This woman's demeanor immediately changed and she got nasty with me. She told me she doesn't owe me anything. I said excuse me yes you do. She said I gave her a $20 a $5 and a $1. I said that's $26, why wouldn't you have said anything if I shorted you a $1. She said that it was because I spent so much on my card. That doesn't make any sense. She told me this after the fact. We both know I put down a $5 not a $1 because I did not have any $1's and in my head did the math knowing I'd be getting $3 back. This woman shorted me my money on purpose. Watching her behavior change in front of me was odd and confusing considering I just spent so much money there and chatted with them both as I was the only customer in there. After getting nowhere fast with this lady I left fuming over her pulling a fast one on me. Now I probably won't end up making a stink over $3 but I would warn any other customers to be aware of this woman. Im betting she has done this many times before. If I could only deal with the nice man who helped me, I would consider shopping there again. As far as the woman, keep my $3 you need it more than I do. read more

Gotta love a florist open for most of the day on a Sunday, with a pretty large stock of flowers and plants, that provides incredibly friendly service to boot! There never seems to be a good florist around when I need one so I did a quick search, took a fifteen minute bus ride and stopped in to Midtown Florist crossing my fingers and toes that they would have a decent selection available. They sure did! I arrived late afternoon on a brutally cold Sunday and it was a full house in there! Still, I was treated with terrific customer service. All of my questions were answered, even the ones that I admitted were probably silly. They wrapped my purchase really well and had the sense (which I did not) to ask me how I was traveling so they could wrap it even better. It made a big difference because nothing says "ruined gift" like hopping back on the bus realizing you can't actually handle your gift because you didn't consider the packing of it. Service was speedy. The plant I picked out was looking great three days later, and I wouldn't mind returning to pick out some flowers for my own coffee table when the weather is a little nicer. The one and only time that I bought something there, the head of the flower came right off of its stem when I unpacked the bouquet.
