You're instantly welcomed by friendly faces like Judy to enjoy a taste of their vineyards. All of their staff is very informed of their wines and where to lead you on your tasting. Have wanted to come here for quite a while but only seem to make the drive 1/2 way stopping at other wineries closer. So we set out early and made this vineyard our first destination (aside from a quick stop at 'Goats on the Roof'). The winery's tasting room is directly on the Main Street and looks industrial/brewery like rather than quaint and inviting. As you walk the property, the restaurant/Cafe sits behind the tasting room building and has more character that's more expected of a renowned winery. Shame you couldn't go in cuz it was closed.. maybe next time. So, Did the wine tasting and favored a few, particularly the wines that were not sweet (thank you) and much more reminiscent of French varieties. Lots of reds to select from felt they were a hit high in price Atmosphere was fine, but unlike my preferences of a nice mingling of new and different people, It was more like going to dinner sitting at separate tables and basically keeping to yourself. So it took a bit off of of what we would have liked to experience. Guess we are socialites. Oh well. read more

Finally made it to Tiger! We always pass here on the way home from NC- but always after 5pm. Enjoyed the tasting experience. Cute tasting area with character, cool wood barrels behind the bar. I wouldn't rate the wines well, I like a more full bodied wine. Some of the wines were ok, but not strong enough for me to enjoy a glass. They were light. Some of the reds were ok, didn't care for any of the whites. I didn't tour the outside grounds but they sound nice. Glad to have stopped by. Very friendly bartender. read more

AHH-Mazing! My boyfriend and I made a little "day-cation" to Clayton to see the leaves turn this past fall and stumbled upon Tiger Mountain Vineyards (Thanks Siri!). The entire property is adorable. We walked in the tasting room and enjoyed every single wine on the list! The staff (and by staff I mean the one gentleman that works in the tasting room..) is very friendly and informative. You can taste all you want for only $5, which is great! We purchased our wine and were told that we should walk around the property. We strolled through the vineyards and peeked into The Red Barn Cafe then headed back home. This was a Tuesday. Saturday afternoon we found ourselves back at the Red Barn Cafe for lunch with my parents. The menu is small, it's all catered. My boyfriend stated that the food is "fancy food". Meaning, they didn't have a burger and fries (although I do believe a burger was an option..). They were nice enough to give us a taste of wine due to the fact that they were out of my new favorite (The Petit Manseng). The staff is amazing (again) and we plan to go back for their holiday open house! I cannot say enough great things about this little jewel! A must see. read more

Fantastic place! Don't let the first sight from the street mislead you. When we first parked we saw a building that looked kind of basic and no sight of actual vineyards. Usually you drive through the lush vineyards to get to the building and this one was just slam by the road. Once we opened the large purple doors the environment immediately was welcoming and exciting! The employee was very friendly and we enjoyed our wine tasting very much. This winery is pet friendly and our pup was very much welcome! They even have him doggy water! The wines are delicious and we bought 2 bottles. After that we walked throughout the vineyards which are on the back and it was an awesome experience! read more

This was our first time visiting this vineyard since the change in ownership a few months ago. We did a Seated Estate Tasting. We loved the 3 reds and the 1 white that comprised the tasting. The pours were generous and the charcuterie was very good. We enjoyed the live music from Monica Spears while we were there. We were there on a day when there were torrential downpours in the area so we didn't get to experience as much of the winery as we would otherwise have done but it was a nice time drinking wine as we sat in the barn and enjoyed the rain. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon to find live music and friendly folks. While I will admit that the lady who took care of us was kind, funny and helpful, I regret to advise that her counterpart was not so wonderful. We mentioned we were from Miami, and one of the women working there had the audacity to say "I lived in Coral Springs FL, but would never go to Miami. That place scares me. I am afraid I would get out of the airport and make a wrong turn"...I am sorry, I don't know what sad and sheltered life you had, but Miami is not some gang ridden hell hole. It was so offensive for her to basically say, in other words -- "I don't want to end up in some minority neighborhood".. It was racist, insulting and uncalled for. I guess that type of closed mind is how you end up in Clayton GA. Besides that, their wines aren't very good. Too acidic for my taste. Not smooth. Red Barn Cafe is true 'farm to table', unique hand selected seasonal ingredients, limited menu that changes weekly. Very pretty, serene, mountain setting. They close for the winter, won't open again until May. Would be an awesome venue for a wedding or event. After brunch we walked to the winery for a tasting. If you tell them you ate at the cafe your tasting is half off. The winery has a great selection of wines, all grapes grown on the property. Also has local cheeses to taste. Hello my favorite place in North GA to date! My friend and I stopped in here for a wine tasting (since we were in the area on a Tuesday and this is the only winery that I found that is open on Tuesdays in June!). We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious, dry wines that we found at Tiger Mountain Vineyards! If you are in the area, you must do a tasting! The Petit Manseng is smooth and my new favorite white wine. The only thing I am semi-upset about is that I thought I ordered a bottle of Tannat but somehow I ended up with a bottle of the Rabun Red instead. So this place is kind of off the beaten path...and I was getting a bit worried the further we drove, but it was worth the drive. We arrived to a perfect, mild sunny day and as such chose to sit outside. The seating area had a wonderful view of the mountains as well as the vineyard, For lunch we started with the fried smoked gouda with strawberry 5 pepper jelly...delicious. For our entrees we had the meatloaf with bacon mashed potatoes and green beans...all three were wonderful. In fact meatloaf always sounds boring to me but the glaze on it was quite nice. We also had the chicken and waffles which were probably even better than the meatloaf, but they did skimp on the syrup. As I wasn't in the mood to allow my waffle to get cold waiting for more I just ate it, but as a suggestion order extra in advance. We also tried a few glasses of their wine. I am no wine snob but I have not found many vineyards outside your standard areas (France, California, etc) to be very good. This place made some pretty decent wine. My wife has a Petit something or other that was a white...it was a bit too buttery for me, but she liked it. I had a cabernet franc and I was very satisfied with it. All in all a very nice outing and a neat place to go check out. read more

Restaurant was fine, but the people in the vineyard were Snobby and snotty to the max. The lady at the wine bar was extremely short and arrogantly rude to my wife who asked if they had any sweet dinner wines. The staff was very unwelcoming and as a large party, we were treated as though we were an inconvenience. The staff did not understand the wines or the grapes which was unfortunate. The wine was incredibly unpalatable and were worse than even the cheapest of grocery store wines. Every one had a vinegar aftertaste and the varietals were treated terribly. The worst was the Viognier which is supposed to by a dryer wine which ended up being crystallized with sugar and sweeter than a Moscato. Was not impressed. The winery outside is nice and nestled in a beautiful area but it costs $5.00 for sampling. I thought this was ridiculous and did not find the staff helpful at all. I was definitely treated 2nd class. I guess they assumed I would not buy anything. They have u-pick but were not helpful as to where, how much, etc... just told me there is a yellow box out there.
