Having a gluten allergy, it can be tricky finding Asian food outside of Indian and Thai that I can eat. Enter Tiger Noodle House. We went for lunch, and WHAT A TREAT. Service was spot on, quick, and we got our food in what felt like maybe a few minutes. We started off with pork dumplings for the kiddo, which he INHALED in moments. For entrees, we split the orange chicken and the Spicy/Numbing Pot. The orange chicken was spot on. The sauce was sweet but not painfully sweet or thick/clumpy. Really nice orange flavor and tender chicken. So much fun eating it since it is gluten free! Our kiddo also devoured this dish! Mild - not spicy at all! The Spicy Numbing Pot, while a little oily/greasy on the bottom, was still delicious! I appreciated that it wasn't knock your socks off spicy - it had a solid kick, and so flavorful. I love eating dishes with Sichuan Pepper; it has a lot of flavor, and the tingling is so much fun. This dish was perfect with some rice, and it wasn't too heavy for the middle of the day. The prices were really reasonable, and there was enough food for leftovers which we ate later that night. Our only regret is not getting the duck appetizer, but we will be sure to get it next time. Always down for a good Chinese restaurant! What I love is it is not that dive Chinese restaurant, it is very clean and modern. The service is always very friendly and attentive. We get a variety of items but by far my favorite is the fried squid. It's a salt and pepper, perfectly crispy, with some chili flakes and veggies. The only downfall is I fell the dish varies from daytime to evening cook. I like the daytime one better. Nighttime tends to add to much spice and more veggies then the squid. The fried rice is also lacking. Very blanked and lacks life to be honest. Those two things are really my only reason for the star reduction. Check out their lunch specials also! I've picked up food from this location many, many times. A trip to Houston doesn't feel complete without a stop here. I usually grab take out but I've eaten here a couple of times. Service is always quick and friendly, and the locale is cute and cozy. The place can be busy this has never affected service or how quick things are served. When the soup dumplings were served without spoons (or ginger), I realized our mistake. The dumplings were hardly soupy and the skin was thick. Trader Joe's soup dumplings are better. The beef wrap was okay. The beef was cut up pretty fine but the hoisin sauce was practically dripping out of the wrap, so it was hard to appreciate the beer and herbs that also made up the wrap. We liked the food so much that I tried to check in 5 times during my meal. By the 2nd one Yelp was all, "Easy Tiger." One of the better Chinese/Asian Fusion spots in Katy. They have another place in Rice Village, and we like both spots. We've visited the Rice location and this one, and we like this location better... but both taste great if you know what to order, which is stuff like Szechuan dumplings and Dan Dan Noodle and other spicy dishes. I almost lowered to 4 star because their response to a bad review was a little snarky, but (a) they also offered an expensive free replacement meal, and (b) they make a good point, that there is no way you can get a meal that big for $50 at Mala Sichuan, and even if you do, Mala adds too much sugar to their foods especially lately, and have raised the prices for their Katy and Westheimer locations so now they're by no means the "cheaper option" compared to Tiger. It's a little expensive compared to what we used to pay for Szechuan a couple years ago, but it's tasty and it's affordable still, and it's authentic, and more to the point, this kind of thing is very vital to Katy and to Houston and to Texas - local, tasty ethnic foods, authentic and yummy. Just stay away from the American dishes, they're no better than at an American Chinese takeaway, but more expensive. For the Szechuan food? Five stars! read more

Got the spicy wontons, Taiwanese Beef Noodle, and Sliced Pork with chili and pepper oil. OMG you have to get the spicy wontons, we dipped them in a bit of soy sauce and the vinegar and my gosh, so good. I would have just asked for these wontons on top of noodles if I knew about this beforehand. The Taiwanese Beef Noodle is also a winner. Yumm, the beef chunks were large and mostly all meat, the noodles were bouncy, and the broth was so beefy tasting, a must get. This Sliced Pork with chili and pepper oil fish came with rice but it was the miss of the meal. Sliced celery was also in the dish which added a nice crunch and freshness with the bite. Most of the pork pieces were fatty pieces so that was off putting. Next time we would probably just go with a noodle dish in place of this. We stopped in on the way to Houston and we were only in Houston for the weekend but I wanted to come by everyday haha! Severely disappointed Been here 3 times before for dine in and it was really good. I ordered $50 worth of food on Uber eats and almost all of it went in the trash. To start as soon as I ordered for pick up and within 5 minutes i got the notification that my order was ready which was a huge red flag. I live 7 minutes away so I decided to go ahead and pick up. Order was actually ready to my surprise but like I mentioned is a huge red flag. 3 entrees and an appetizer ready in less than 10 minutes? Get home and the food was cold. Not sure if I was given someone's canceled order or it was left overs from the night before. But for it to be ready so quick and driving 7 minutes home and it was that cold made no sense. Food: Spicy wontons- not going to lie these were actually good and was the only good thing and was still hot. 9/10 King pao chicken:- worst kung pao I've ever had. No flavor. Felt like they only used salt to season. I would have prefer Panda Express over this any day. 1/10 Broccoli beef- was the coldest item of them all. The broccoli was the only edible thing in here. The meat was super chewy and cold. Was also not seasoned but had more flavor than the king pao. 3/10 Tiger stir fry noodle- was also cold and the noodles were super bland. We opened them up once we got back to the hotel and it looked great. Ample and smelled good. Realized the noodles are all the same which is ok. Thick. The dan dan looked pretty but skimpy on the meat. It was ok. The lomeins were tasty. Chicken was best and most flavorful. Idk if they all tasted different but they were good. Our soup noodles were good. Authentic and strong in star anise and spicee. I liked how mine had tons of tripe lol the egg was good too.
