This place is in a super unassuming strip mall, but don't let that fool you as Tiger Noodle House has some of the best Chinese food in Katy. Their portion sizes are huge, they do a great job taking care to distance during COVID and the food comes out quick. It's everything that you would want. We got three dishes and all were great. The braised pork belly with pickled vegetables is succulently tender fatty slabs of pork goodness, with the salty funky juices flavoring it magnificently. They give you a lot of meat and thankfully an equal amount of rice to eat it with. The fried fish with sweet and sour sauce highlights the contrast of crispy hot fried fish, with no traces of grease, to sweet and sour delight. It comes out piping hot though, so don't scald your mouth by biting in too quickly. I was also a big fan of the taiwanese beef noodle soup. The noodles aren't homemade, but the broth is excellent and the beef shank has been braised to fall off the bone kind of soft. Especially for the price, the noodle soup is a bargain. read more

Okay so before I start my review I have to mention my food was a to-go/pickup order, so this could have a way with the food for travel. Now the food was decent enough but let me explain what we ordered. Keep in mind these are packaged in a thick brown paper box. Soup dumplings - May have been good if we had eaten them there but there was maybe a drop of soup in the dumpling by the time we got home and not the most flavorful drop either. Maybe the steam dried them up. 1/5 Pork pot stickers - These were also okay but again bc the steam of the packaging box they were in may have changed the dynamic I wouldn't order again. They do have a lot of filling but dough was a little chewy even though fried. 2/5 The fried chicken and fried squid - both were kind of soggy by the time we got home.. and the chicken had a fishy taste which told me they fried it in the same thing as the squid. Not good for me. It had lots of flavor but missed the mark a little bc of seafood taste 2/5 General tsaos - now this had to be the best and most flavorful thing we ordered. Didn't change much while driving back home. We asked for extra spicy and this didn't even make me sniffle but at least it had decent flavor. 3/5 We ordered fried rice also, the house and chicken and both were decent but I've had better. I wanted to write a better review but unfortunately I wouldn't recommend getting to go from here and I don't know if I will actually ever go in to sit down. We've been here twice now and have enjoyed the food and service both times now. Spicy wontons- 5 stars - must get! Not very spicy but love the thin wonton skin. So good! Pork belly - 4 stars - pretty fatty pork belly this time but good flavor. Lots of greens & peppers though so less pork. Beef stir fried noodle - 4 stars - the niece and nephews loved it! Very good for kids and quite scrumptious for the adults too. Very tender pieces of beef too and perfect noodles. We ordered to go some pan fried potstickers and they were pretty good. I love the crispiness even though we didn't eat it until 30 minutes later. We also ordered the spicy steamed wontons. They came in one small container and they all stick together. It was very difficult to separate them out. The sauce was amazing and spicy enough to eat over and over again. The OG Tiger Noodle House location. Came here recently again to try something else - usually get the Beef Noodle Soup but this time got the Dan Dan Dan noodles and the Chicken Lo Mein. Both were very tasty. The Dan Dan noodles had a peanut and sesame zing and the Chicken Lo Mein tasted very fresh too! Will definitely come back and try the other noodles. For their Beef Noodles though - I simply don't think you can beat them without driving all the way to Bellaire. They are super authentic and very rich in flavor. Did a family style shared meal of the beef noodle soup, dan dan noodles, spicy wontons, soup dumplings, and woodear mushrooms complimentary of the kitchen. All the flavors were delicious. The woodear mushrooms were prepared with a refreshing vinegary sauce that wasn't overpowering. It was very crisp and delicious - my only complaint is that they didn't really cut it up so it was a bit hard to eat. The soup dumplings were steamed well, although there were some suspicions as to whether they were store bought. Spicy wontons were delicious, and the chili oil they came in was the perfect flavorful kick. Dan dan noodles were awesome. A bit spicier than I'm used to, but I love spice and honestly I think it was one of my favorite dishes. I would definitely get them again. The beef noodle soup fell somewhere between the usual clear and dark broths. Still delicious, and the meat was tender. In terms of the prices, I found it comparable to other Chinese noodle joints. When you first enter the place, you feel like maybe it won't be much because of how small the place is, there was barely any people inside, etc. (there were a lot of take out orders though) I don't judge a book by its over and I'm glad I didn't with this place because the food was really good for American-Chinese food and the service/staff is great. We got dry fried green beans on the house (which was super addicting, definitely enjoyed it), spicy dan dan noodles, authentic Szechuan beef noodles, and classic donpo pork. The classic donpo pork was so tender and was like butter in your mouth. Probably my favorite dish of the night. That with the rice was just a perfect combination on my taste buds. The spicy dan dan noodles and the beef noodle soup was also really good; perfectly spiced and seasoned too. This is the 2nd location I have visited and again all the food I ordered was pretty good and tastes nearly as good the 2nd day as leftovers. I came here on a Saturday fairly early, so it wasn't very busy. The dining room is basically rectangular and bright, quite a bit different from their Jones Road location. I ordered the spicy cumin beef, eggplant, fish and tofu, Everything tasted really good, similar to their other locations and very consistent. Service was decent. Employees all in masks and a table is put near the cashier for staying 6 feet apart. Food came out fast and packed nicely. Given Houston's strong food scene in Chinatown on Bellaire, I had no interest in Chinese food in Katy. However, after a few picky Chinese foodie friends recommended this place, I came since was already in the area. Pork soup dumplings (xiao long bao): 4.5/5 superb! Although skin is slightly thick and not folded as beautifully as Ding Tai Fong, the filling was tasty and soup juices burst out, which was extremely satisfying. Wontons in spicy chili oil: 3.5/5 Spicy chili oil is delicious, Filling was good, but not sure if I just got a bad batch with the wonton skins as there were parts that tasted doughy/gummy. Not my favorite Spicy sauced green beans: 5/5 Yummy! Green beans fried perfectly and sauce had the right amount of sweet, salty, and spicy. Had to stop myself from cleaning out the whole plate. Taiwanese sausage: 3/5 This was on the house but it's not authentic (I grew up in Taiwan). I would consider it more Cantonese style lap Chong Also, the region of Chinese food here is confusing. Okay so I really ENJOYED the heck out of such a wide range of dishes in their menu. I ordered the spicy dumplings that were super juicy and soft! On the spicy level I would say it lacked, I ended up adding my own chili oil to level it up. I ordered the beef fried rice that I felt lacked a bit of flavor. There was more flavor note of soy sauce than there was Unami flavor , which was disappointing. I also got the orange chicken and General Tso Chicken. Both were delicious! The orange chicken had slices of orange peel that gave that extra hint of orange that was very pleasing. The General Tso chicken pieces were juicy as long as they were the bigger out of the bunch. On a spicy level I would say it was a sold 4/10. Would I order again? Definitely so whenever I'm craving for fast food Asian cuisine that is a bit more upscale than your average town's old and favorite take out. read more

Totally tasty is just the tip of the iceberg!!! The orange chicken and beef and broccoli was very delicious and full of flavor. I love that they use a fair amount a broccoli and in my daughters words it was "so juicy" aka really tender and not dry has lots of sauce which we likey. Will definitely be ordering again in the future and there's no shortage of variety on the menu so the only issue you'd have here is narrowing down your order or better yet just try them all!!! Healthy portions of tasty food. Tiger Noodle House has become my favorite Chinese restaurant in Katy. On our last visit, I was given an order of Tiger noodles by mistake. I offered to still buy the noodles, but they were given to us for free. We were also offered a free order of poached fish. The visit before that, we were also offered free food. We start or meals with the dumplings. These are some of the best dumplings I have ever had. The soupy meat inside the dumplings was delicious. I ordered the full house version of the spicy and numbing pot which included all types of meats. I really enjoyed the entree...just the right amount of spice. The noodles were very spicy and had an awesome taste with the beef. I also liked the poached fish. With all of the leftovers I took home, I had a ton of food to feast on the rest of the week. TNH was the perfect place to enjoy a meal on Christmas Day. read more

I remember when this place opened and was so worried that they would close soon like so many other Katy area places have. Over 3 years later they're still going strong and it's not hard to see why. My go to is the garlic pork as well as the dry fried green beans, but Chinese sausage is always a must as well. My coworker swears by the spicy numbing pot but make sure you know what you're getting yourself into! We ordered lunch from Tiger Noodle House last week, and I would say they had average food with great service & value for your money. For our appetizers, we all shared the pork bao and tiger wrap. I thought the bao was average (still tasty!) and fairly small in size. The tiger wrap was surprisingly good - the cilantro flavor really came through, and it had a ton of meat. Both went great with the chili oil. I ordered their "budget box" for $4.99 which came with 2 entrees from a select list, rice, scrambled eggs, and egg drop soup. The first entree I chose was the sesame chicken, and while I did like it, it didn't look at all like the picture online. There were no sesame seeds on top! I also tried the beef & broccoli, and it was fairly average. Overall, I would say that the service and value stood out the most to me. If you stop by, I'd definitely consider trying either the bao or tiger wrap as an appetizer! read more

I've been to the Rice Village location before but this was my first time at the Katy location. If I had to choose my preferred location, I would choose this one because the food tasted better (with more menu options) and there's plenty of parking. Here's what I ordered: - Pork Xiao Long Bao - Spicy Wonton - Barbacoa Fried Rice - Dry Fried Green Beans with Minced Pork The Pork XLB had good flavor and is probably one of the best I've had in Houston. I wish there was more soup in the dumplings, but these really hit the spot on a cold rainy day. The Spicy Wontons had good flavor but was a little more on the sweet side. As far as spice goes, I wouldn't really consider it spicy at all. The Pork XLB & Spicy Wontons make good starters for 3-4 people to share. The Barbacoa Fried Rice.....LoOoVeEeD it!!! The flavor, the consistency...I just enjoyed every part of this dish. The Barbacoa makes it a more fatty dish but not to the point to where I felt disgusting after eating it. Seriously, give this fried rice a try. The Dry Fried Green Beans were also a win. It has great flavor and my preferred level of saltiness. The immense hype surrounding this brand new authentic Chinese restaurant outside of Chinatown and all the way out in Katy caught the attention of me and my gf, and we just couldn't ignore it. But we held back a sliver of skepticism because the fact that it was out in Katy, and most restaurants we've tried in Katy claiming to serve "Asian" cuisine were pretty Americanized in order to cater to the taste of their huge non-Asian population. First negative sign we noticed as we walked in the door: there were barely any Asian customers. But that's pretty typical of a Katy restaurant crowd, so we didn't put much thought behind it. Second negative sign came after we took a look at the menu: our waiter wasn't knowledgeable enough to answer the few questions we had regarding a couple dishes. Starting off with the Dan Dan Noodle, one of my favorite traditional Chinese noodle dishes, which they pretty much bombed. The presentation of the dish looked legitimate, but the sauce had none of the sesame sauce flavor, nor any crushed peanuts. It was pretty much some seasoned ground beef on top of noodles with hot chili oil at the bottom. The Beef Noodle Soup my gf got had a pretty aromatic scent, but barely any meaty flavor in the soup. The chunks of beef were nearly as bland as the soup, and very tough at the same time. We basically compare any Beef Noodle soup against our favorite Beef Noodle Soup from San Dong, and Tiger Noodle did not even come close. Our last order of Soup Dumplings, or Xiao Long Bao, was completely forgotten. We had to ask about it twice before they finally brought it out, more than half an hour after we placed our order. Although I was kind of disgusted at how rubbery the skin looked on the outside, the meat inside had a decent amount of porky flavor. Still, that didn't neutralize the thick skin of the dumplings, or the minuscule amount of soup that was inside. So is Tiger Noodle House authentic? It sure looked like everything was made and cooked the authentic way. But as far as taste goes, I felt like they didn't come anywhere close to how authentic should taste like. First let me say I have never had taiwanese noodle soup before but OMG!!!!! It is sooooo good!! I got the Taiwanese spicy beef noodle soup and the spicy wontons to go. The soup had SUCH depth of flavor, the perfect level of spice, the noodle where not to thick with just enough bite and honestly enough for 2-3 servings! It may not look like much from the outside BUT I felt completely safe (Katy location). I got my food to go so I can't speak on the customer service just charged my card and I was out the door.
